I loooved this sexy, snowed-in historical romance novella!

While Knox has a reputation as a scoundrel, he actually has a kind heart and is secretly yearning for love and a family to call his own. Falling for Clarissa aligns with his goal apart from the fact that she's not got the funds he so desperately needs (due to no fault of his own) to care for the thousands of people in his dukedom who rely on him. Clarissa is a confident, clever, and self-made business owner who takes matters in her own hands to get what she and Knox so desperately long for.

I loved my first Tracy Sumner romance and have signed up for more right away.
This is the 3rd and last book in the series and can be read as a standalone. But why would you? Go on and dive into the entire series.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to dive into this story ahead of publication date.

Read if you like: class difference, snowed in, forced proximity, novella, he falls first and hard

Knox wants to marry for love but he can’t afford to. He’s such a thoughtful MMC and cares for everyone, because of this, he is forced to marry for money just to pay for his father’s mistakes. He’s a duke who doesn’t want the title and he’s set on getting Clarissa’s attention, even if he can’t have her. Clarissa was a smart FMC, she really made him work for it (especially with his rakish reputation).

“I yearn for you” “you’re worth every sacrifice” 🥹🥹 he was down bad for her

I couldn’t really connect to the characters and I wasn’t that invested in their love. There wasn’t much depth but that’s hard to have in a novella. With only 7 chapters it’s a very quick read!

Knox, a duke, needs to marry for money. Claria is a milliner. They are both attracted to each other. They must find a way around the obstacles to be together. I found this story ended a bit abruptly, I would have liked to read more. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for my honest review.

A wonderful way to tie up the “Troublesome Trio” of brothers that take the ton by surprise with their hijinks.
With his two brothers now happily married, Knox the Duke needs to face the reality of his desolate estates needing an infusion of cash and his obsession for a common working lady named Clarissa.
They start a love affair with an ending to saying goodbye before he marries a woman of the ton.
Romance, tough decisions, beautifully crafted love scenes add to reading enjoyment.
