Lorenzo and Charlie are wonderful! With a touch of enemies to lovers vibes and some definite grumpy/sunshine trope they have a fun and intertwining love story. I loved that Lorenzo still had room to grow after being a vampire for hundreds of years and that Charlie had to look inward to truly understand who he wanted to be and that the only way they could see that they could be better was through each other.

Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a fun read, and I would categorize it as a paranormal rom-com. I'm unsure if the author intended it to be humorous, but I found it to be so. I couldn't take Lorenzo's character seriously for the first half of the book. However, we then saw some welcome character development. Charlie was... okay. While Lorenzo became increasingly interesting and developed nicely, Charlie became somewhat repetitive and a bit annoying.
Story-wise, it was enjoyable. I appreciated how the author integrated the paranormal aspect into a contemporary setting. The central conflict, however, felt underwhelming. Relying on lying by omission and/or a lack of communication struck me as a somewhat lazy plot device.
Finally, I must say that the title doesn't quite match the overall vibe of the book. Perhaps if Lorenzo had been portrayed as more "desperate" to find a partner, it would have resonated better, but that's just my perspective.
Still, I would recommend this book and hope to see more of Lehane's world in the future.

This book was a messy little delight—queer, cozy, chaotic. Charlie is a lovable disaster, Lorenzo’s got centuries of brooding down, and the paranormal world? Campy fun. Did I roll my eyes at the third-act drama? Sure. But I was rooting for them anyway. I stayed for the banter, side characters, and vibes.

This book is so much fun!! This is my very first paranormal romance and I adored it so much. It's slow burn but so funny and so much going on that it reads very quickly. Our main character Charlie runs an advice column but is struggling to relate to all the questions he's getting about humans whom are dating and want to date the supernatural. Being Charlie has no experience in this lane he ventures out to meet as many werewolves, vampires, witches and more as he can! Unfortunately the vampire who can help him the most despises him!!
This books has so many great moments and supporting cast. I won't tell my favorite not to give to much away, but I'm sure she'll have everyone laughing out loud. This book was the perfect intro to the paranormal genre because the ride was so much fun. So much happening and the tension and banter is spot on!!

This was a fun, quick read. I think fans of paranormal romance will enjoy the modern take on a vampire/human relationship.
Both pov voices were well done and even if it is a bit predictable it's still a good time.

this was a cute and cozy rom com perfect for the fall/ halloween time! i will eat up a book like this every time. my only complaint is that i would have preferred the spicy scenes to be a bit more descriptive, but i enjoyed this story so much! i would have loved to see the story unfold a bit more after the the conflict was resolved, but the epilogue did answer my questions about the continuation of the story

I have come to the conclusion that any romcom that the author says was inspired by what we do in the shadows is probably going to be up my alley. Charlie and Lorenzo are a fun couple and I enjoyed watching Charlie learn about the paranormal world. I also enjoyed Lorenzo's paranormal roommate drama and Charlie's advice to paranormal readers of his column.
I did struggle a bit with secrets getting kept in this story. I found the third act breakup a bit predictable and wish it had been a bit more of a twist. However, overall I enjoyed the story and hope their will be a sequel! I would love to learn more about other drama happening in the house and how Lorenzo is able to help the supernatural community!

This book is very good and interesting and I think many people would be happy to read it. Though in the beginning it was a bit confusing to understand.

A damn good time! And, a damn good monster romance! I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I find it to be a wonderful addition to the genre. The story’s concept is a lot of fun, the characters are so enjoyable, and the romance was equal parts emotional, sexy, and adorable. Highly recommend!

very sweet little vampire romcom.
I wasn't sure what to expect going into this one, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. it has everything you would expect in a typical cheesy second-chance romance, plenty of miscommunication, a big secret that looms over the relationship leading to the inevitable third-act breakup (minor spoiler? but not really because it is very obvious). it was really low stakes and I don't think I really became attached to any of the characters. this is usually something I hate in books but it worked for me in this case, I didn't get to fall in love with it but it kept the story light which suits the genre better.
I really have nothing negative to say about this book, it was cute and simple and if you are looking for a quick queer romance with a touch of supernatural elements id say go for it.
thanks to st. martin's press and netgalley for the arc.

I wanted to enjoy this book more than I did. The world was interesting but I could have used a little more explanation for why what happened was going on. I felt like the pacing with the romance was a little off and would have liked to see more personal growth with the main characters. The side characters were fun and I would like to see where the series goes from here.

This was a cute and lighthearted romance novel with a a supernatural twist. I enjoyed the myriad of creatures present as both the LI and side/background characters. The letters to Wise Old Crone were also pretty funny and the plotline was overall entertaining. I enjoyed watching the characters slowly fall for each other while pretending to hate the other one, and the tension between the characters made their banter stand out.
I really wish there had been more of development of the character’s depth and backstories, given that this was still a character-driven story and genre. It seemed like things that had happened in the past shaped them into who they were and caused some of their issues, but they were barely touched on and then resolved with little struggle, so the payoff felt lacking. I felt like I only got to see a snapshot in time for both Charlie and Lorenzo, but given that the reader could see their perspective, I wanted to know more about who they were as people and what impacted them on a deeper level.

I was doing SOOO good at not requesting too many ARCs and getting overwhelmed and reading them at the very last minute..and here we are. Here's Lucy Lehane "Thirsty." This book debuts in October 2025.
["Charlie needs to revamp his career. Writing advice columns was hard enough before the whole internet was dying to know how to date the undead – but Charlie’s as human as they come. And he has no idea how to answer the messages flooding his inbox, like My Workplace Slack Is Haunted; Should I Cross Dimensions For a Fling? and How Exactly Do You Smash A…
When a chance nocturnal meeting at a local coffee shop sees him reuniting with Lorenzo – a vampire with an axe to grind – Charlie thinks he’s found his ticket to immortal career success. But Lorenzo has plans of his to get revenge on Charlie for separating Lorenzo from the love of his life years ago. When Lorenzo draws Charlie into his world of monsters and mayhem, he finds new friends and old souls that span centuries of existence, yet are somehow just as lost as the two of them. But as Charlie and Lorenzo grow unexpectedly closer, the secrets they dwell under might just crush them.
Can their love survive demons and drama? And which will prove deadlier… bloodlust or betrayal?"]
This book was inspired by the TV show "What We Do In The Shadows," and honestly, I see it. The supernatural community, the sense of eternal dread, the queer longing.
Though, these two did make me cry. A few times. They both have their baggage and their secrets. But they fell into a romance so suddenly that it was so fucking easy to fall from tentative-friendship to lovers. And not just lovers but the kind of romantic relationship that everyone strives for: constant smiles, talking about anything and everything, communication through looks alone.
And with all of that baggage and secrets, comes accidental outing and third-act break ups and taking sides and me crying while the characters are sobbing and not eating and D:
This book was fucking fabulous. It wasn't overly spicy. It had a great amount of angst, especially in the beginning. The sheer amount of lore from all different kinds of supernatural groups was fascinating, seeing the "original" facts and the new-look facts.

Charlie's advice column, Wise Old Crone, is on a downwards spiral after his company changes management and he has to move back to his hometown. With a column name like that, readers are expecting supernatural advice since monsters came out publicly a few years ago but Charlie doesn't know the first thing about supernatural beings. In comes Lorenzo, an acquaintance from the past who doesn't have the best opinion of Charlie but happens to be a vampire. As Lorenzo brings Charlie into the supernatural world sparks start to fly between them, but will secrets and unspoken words tear them apart?
This book is a paranormal romance set in a small cozy town with occupants that are oozing with charm. Charlie and Lorenzo have some fun adventures meeting different supernatural creatures, and the slow-burn romance that comes with these adventures is oh-so-gratifying. The book moves along at a great pace and the conflict is resolved in a quick enough manner that will satisfy romance readers.
I will definitely be recommending this novel to my paranormal romance readers at my library, and it would make a great addition to any library's LGBTQ+ collection.

I tried to read Thirsty about ten times and it just didn’t hook me enough to power through. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this arc ebook in exchange for an honest review, all opinions are my own.

This book offers a breezy, heartwarming escape, filled with witty banter, endearing mishaps, and just enough chemistry to keep the pages turning. The love interest is suitably charming, with enough depth to make their dynamic engaging, even if some of their conflicts feel a bit predictable.
While the book excels in humor and sweet moments, the protagonist’s personal growth occasionally takes a backseat to the romantic plot. A deeper exploration of their emotional journey could have added more weight to their happily-ever-after.
That said, the supporting cast adds plenty of fun, and the romantic tension is well-paced, making it easy to root for the central couple. The writing is light and engaging, perfect for readers looking for a feel-good story with a few laughs along the way. If you don’t mind a little predictability and enjoy banter-filled romance, this book is a charming pick—just don’t expect too much introspection between the meet-cutes and grand gestures.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Vampires & queer romance - what more could I ask for?! Thirsty was so cozy, steamy, & real. The characters were all funny, flawed, & relatable! Charlie & Lorenzo have my heart! I will definitely be on the look out for more paranormal romances by this author!

1/5 🌶️ - some descriptions, but most is implied/behind closed doors
I (unlike some of the other reviewers, lol) saw two men in the cover and the title of “Thirsty” and I was like - this sounds so gay, COUNT ME IN.
This book follows a human relationship advice columnist (Charlie) and one of his college friend’s exes, a 200+ year old vampire, Lorenzo. This was an enemies to reluctant friends to lovers. The slow burn slowwwwww burned hard but in a good way.
Lorenzo reluctantly (and unknowingly) is helping Charlie with his advice column that is now geared toward supernatural relationships and not just human relationships. There is lots of campy, supernatural fun along the way. Of course, this same advice column will lead to problems…

I picked this book so I could try something different, but this was definitely not my type. I had to dnf it because I was just dragging reading it. Maybe just a matter of the type of books I read but this definitely wasn't for me

Okay, so apparently, I'm in my silly paranormal romance arc because I loved this. Was it ridiculous? Quite a bit. But it was also SO fun. Exploring all of the different paranormals with Charlie was so exciting, especially because it introduced us to so many fun side characters. I rarely say that I wish books were longer, but I did find myself wishing we had a bit more of this one. Because the resolution was so speedy. And we didn't really have the page count to spend time with characters other than Charlie and Lorenzo. But, I did still really enjoy this! Can't wait to see what ridiculous romance I pick up next :D
