My six year olds really enjoyed this one! I liked how CJ’s AdHD was portrayed. This is a great one to add to any home library!

Right off the bat, the artwork and cover are very well done and catches the eye. A child will definitely pick this up.

This book starts off with an introduction to CJ. CJ has ADHD and it is described as being attention-deficit hypersensitivity disorder which means that your brain can move faster than normal. CJ wants to clean up litter and gets help from his dad. His dad suggests that they get a couple more people to help out in order to make it easier. It explores personal growth, responsibility, and sense of community involvement. This is through the lens of a young boy navigating life through the complexities of ADHD.

Overall, children who face challenges like ADHD, kids who are interested in making changes within their community, and even educators will best benefit from this book.

One critique is that there could be more emphasis on the family dynamic and how strong the relationship is between each family member.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me review this book. CJ along with his family and friends decide to clean up the street and the park. He has ADHD, so gets distracted by everything going on around him, he forgets to pick up trash! His dad has a good idea and tells him to count trash.

As a teacher, I have worked with many students who have been diagnosed or exhibited signs of ADHD. I like that this story has an activity that many kids can relate to (wanting to clean up a park or area near their home) and touches on the diagnosis and what it may cause for him in his day to day life. I think often times we see the negative aspects but there's a positive moment here as well. I think even kids that do not have a diagnosis can connect to a time where they felt distracted. It's not just an ADHD thing. I liked the questions at the end to start discussions as well.

Adorable, great illustrations, and a wonderful narrative that could inspire kids to get active in their community too!

I love the ADHD representation although it did feel a bit flat - I wanted a bit more. I think if its going to be mentioned in the beginning of the book as a major characteristic the book could dive into the topic a bit more.

Overall a cute read!
