This was a cute and atmospheric Scottish romp. The couple was darling and the narrators did a wonderful job bringing them to life.

This audiobook was so good. I loved the dual narration and the accents. I would definitely recommend this book on audio. I recently visited Scotland, so I had a great time returning via this audiobook.

Maybe not insta love but insta infatuation, lonely main characters, broody mmc, star crossed lovers, accident prone fmc, grief, finding home, dual pov
Let me tell you, the male narrator having a Scottish accent made this book way better. It’s already a decent love story, a fun premise with the “Edwardian Experience”, but that man’s voice definitely made it better.
This book made me cry, because of how beautifully sweet the love story is here and the character growth the main characters go through. Seeing them discover that they are what the other one needs, or that they can grow into that role, was so beautiful and has made this one of the best love stories I’ve read - listened to technically, but still.
Seeing Katie be embraced by someone even though she sees herself in a negative light hits really close to home right now. I am in a similar situation, so seeing that it can work and I’ll be okay is comforting for me.
I chose this book because it says it was Christian fiction and I’ve been wanting to read more in that genre, and this book was the perfect book to start. The steady mention of the Lord and faith made me want to pray every time it was mentioned, and I can’t wait to
There were some points earlier in the book where I thought “how many times are they going to mention _” or thought that the pronunciation was overdone, but those didn’t deter me from the book, more became old

Thank you NetGalley and Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio!
Katie is a very fun loving and clumsy FMC. She was so real and I felt very connected to her.
Graeme was the hot Scot ;) Very protective to those around him and Mr. Fix-It.
Both MCs were dealing with grief and learning how to become themselves again after so long being stuck in the same safe ways. It was very interesting to see them grow by themselves and grow together.
The fact that this was an audio really made the book for me. The narrators were perfect and kept me focused the whole time!

I’m not crying you are! I truly enjoyed this book. The amount of growth you get from both main characters as the story goes is truly phenomenal. You get such a real feel from this that it’s almost not even a book. I felt a kinship to Katie, in so many ways especially the clumsy part. Home sometimes isn’t a place, it’s a person and this book proves it. Same with working on yourself sometimes you need to help of friends, family, god and a push from someone new. Or maybe a fall I should say since that’s how it all started.

If you’re looking for a G rated version of Outlander meets Austenland meets Downton Abbey, this book is for you.
This was a cute and cozy read but the writing often felt juvenile and repetitive.
I loved the Scottish accent of the male narrator! I was grateful to have received an ARC and ALC from netgalley as the audio helped me get through the book.

Katie is known for things going wrong on her travels—in fact, she's built a whole career around it. And from the beginning, things go wrong on her current trip, starting with a run-in with a grumpy Scottish man. And while things only spiral from there, it turns out that maybe (literally) running into Graham wasn't such a disaster after all.
I loved the relationship between Katie and Graham, and I absolutely adored his family. All the relationships are so sweet and I was fully invested right from the start. I do wish we'd gotten a little more follow-up on Katie's rivalry, the future of the estate, and a few other things—there were multiple things that felt a bit unresolved. Overall though, Some Like It Scot is sweet and I enjoyed it!

I was delighted to have the opportunity to read an early copy of Some Like It Scot. The characters are so human with fears and sadness and insecurities.
Katie Campbell is known as Miss Adventure because she travels the world collecting stories and adventures, some of which result from clumsiness. Her family situation leaves her feeling inadequate and alone.
Graeme McKerrow is a talented carver and owner of his historical family home on the Isle of Mull. His heart is bruised after losing his sister and his fiancé.
The setting is the Isle of Mull in Scotland. The descriptions will carry your heart and imagination to Scotland and leave you longing for a visit.
Graeme’s family home is being used to hold a three week Edwardian Experience. There are so many funny moments, so many tender moments, and much food (words) for thought. Katie and Graeme’s first encounters are a bit antagonistic, but soon more friendly feelings develop.
I love this book. It has me wanting to visit Scotland. It leaves me feeling warm and fuzzy. This is a beautiful read for spring.
I listened to the audiobook. The narrators are great. The chapters alternate between Katie and Graeme’s perspective and there is a male and female narrator.

Katie and Graeme are goals. Literally.
I loved everything about this novel from the hard topics that are dealt with (grief, sibling death previously off page, negative parental relationship on page) to the swoony romance.
As someone who has lost a sibling, I felt seen in this book. And I mean...I am also super clumsy, soooooo 😂
I also enjoyed the brief Christian themes that make it a natural part of the story without being preachy. It allows those who aren't Christians to still enjoy the story as well.
I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes their romance with a side of therapy and a hot Scot!
As an audiobook, the narrators were fantastic, with good pacing and wonderful voice acting.

ACL REVIEW:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
Katie Campbell is a clumsy, American travel writer beloved by her readers for her unfortunate mishaps. Her latest assignment brought her to Scotland. Staying in a highland manor for three weeks, Katie is immersed in the ultimate Edwardian experience. Despite enjoying her time in the land of her ancestors, being in one place for an extended period of time reminds her she is still searching for home. Will Katie survive three weeks amongst a quirky cast of Scottish characters, or will she run away before she can form any attachments?
Some Like It Scot is Pepper Basham’s latest release. This story has everything; laugh out loud moments, adventure, found family, and swoon worthy romance. I was immediately hooked by the picturesque setting and MMC, Graeme, a surly Scotsmen.
As a huge fan of Basham’s contemporary romances, I knew I would enjoy this story, no matter the format. While it was wonderful in physical form, nothing compares to it as an audiobook. Joshua Manning and Stina Nielsen, the voice actors who did the narration, make this story come alive. Hearing their Scottish accents transported me straight to the highlands!
This book also features:
-Dual POVs ( Katie/ Graeme)
-Forced Proximity
-Opposites Attract
-Grumpy/ Sunshine
-Elements of Faith
Special thanks to Netgalley, Thomas Nelson Fiction, Zondervan Fiction Audio, and Pepper Basham for gifting me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest feedback.

I had a false start with this book and pushed pause after 3 chapters. The second time I restarted and it took me about a third of the way through to get really into it but once I did it gripped me and kept getting better and better.
This is a Christian contemporary romantic comedy set in Scotland. Both of our MCs have lost a sibling and that grief and it’s effect on the characters and their families plays an important role in this story and our characters’ journeys - both their journey together towards love and their journey in bettering themselves.
I love the Scotland locale for this book. It is extremely prominent from the vivid scenery descriptions to the Scottish phrases and culture. I loved hearing about their legends - especially through the eyes of an 8 year old boy. You can literally hear the Scottish accent as you read these pages. This book really emphasized the beauty of Scotland and made me want to visit someday.
Our heroine is a travel writer who has maaaaany mishaps and has earned the moniker “Miss Adventure.” She has a great mindset about it and is always kind to others and helping them out. She’s very down to earth. Our hero is a Scotland native and is pulled into her orbit. This romance has some forced proximity and opposites attract as this single dad endeavors to protect her from herself.
This book is full of fun, family, faith, beauty, and so much more. This was my first book by this author but I’ll definitely entertain reading more. This was a just kisses romance. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.

I loved this book! It was a cozy, witty, and beautiful story. It went deep, but also had a lot of humor. The faith part was just a sprinkle, which I enjoyed because it wasn't an all consuming part of the story. I'll read more by Pepper!

Some Like It Scot by Pepper Basham is a charming and heartwarming romantic comedy that expertly combines Scottish scenery, quirky characters, and the collision of two very different worlds. The audiobook version of this story, narrated with warmth and humor, perfectly captures the spirit of this delightful tale.
Katie Campbell, the adventurous and somewhat accident-prone travel writer known as "Miss Adventure," embarks on a unique journey to explore her ancestral roots in Scotland. What she expects to be a whimsical and enriching experience turns into a series of humorous misadventures, especially when she encounters Graeme MacKerrow, a stoic and protective Scotsman who is determined to stay rooted in his family’s legacy. Their contrasting personalities set the stage for an engaging and unpredictable romance.
Graeme’s reluctance to embrace change and Katie’s constant quest for new experiences create a dynamic and compelling tension between the two. As Katie’s time in Scotland unfolds, she is immersed in the beauty of the landscape, the eccentricities of the local community, and the undeniable chemistry with Graeme. The slow-burn romance, combined with the humor and charm of the setting, keeps the reader captivated throughout.
What stands out in Some Like It Scot is the way the story explores the meaning of "home" and belonging. Both Katie and Graeme must confront their fears and misconceptions about what it means to create a future with someone whose life path is completely different. The humor, tenderness, and emotional depth of their journey make this book a joy to listen to.
Pepper Basham’s writing shines with witty dialogue and heartfelt moments, and the audiobook's narration brings the characters and their world to life in a way that makes it easy to get lost in their story. Whether you're a fan of travel tales, slow-burn romances, or Scottish settings, Some Like It Scot is a delightful choice. It’s a perfect escape for anyone looking for a feel-good romance with plenty of heart, humor, and adventure.
In short, Some Like It Scot is a perfect audiobook for listeners who love a good romantic comedy with strong, relatable characters, a touch of wanderlust, and a stunning Scottish backdrop. You won’t want to miss this enchanting tale of love, discovery, and finding home in the most unexpected of places.

Some Like it Scot is a cute story about a travel writer who hates staying in one place and a Scot entrenched in his hometown. While it had its' slow moments, the story is cute and quirky and I quite enjoyed the small little moments of Katie's connection with her ancesteral land. I also thought some of her 'misadventures' were funny and added to the story a lot. I had a few issues with the pacing of the book, but overall I thought it was an enjoyable read.
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest and fair review.

It's a cute idea and the characters were entertaining but the chemistry was a bit lacking. Also, the narration wasn't my favorite. The actors voice for the FMC was great but her "guy voice" wasn't the best, and the accents were a tiny bit cringe worthy.

Wow! What a wonderful read! This is not the first book I have read by Pepper Basham and it will certainly not be the last, but I will just say that it definitely rises to the title of “one of my favorites.” I read the physical book and listened to the audiobook and both were winners. The narrators of the audiobook were top notch. I mean, who can resist an accent?
This book is filled with many of the things that I appreciate about Basham’s writing – her delightful sense of humor, her unique and varied characters, and her love of family and relationships. The concept of “home” is clearly presented in this novel and I was engrossed in this part of the story.
I highly (See what I did there?) recommend this fun “trip” to Scotland with Katie and Graeme!
I reviewed this book through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Going into a book knowing it promises a happily ever after comes with certain expectations, and this one absolutely delivers on every level. Our leading lady is an American travel writer whose entire brand revolves around chaos—so much so that her series is called Misadventures. No trip ever goes according to plan, and that’s exactly what makes her experiences so entertaining. When she gets the chance to spend three weeks in an immersive historical experience, she’s all in—until, of course, she finds herself tangled up with a swoon-worthy Scotsman. But love isn’t as simple as storybook endings, especially when both parties carry their own doubts, fears, and deep-seated beliefs about what they’re willing to change for someone else. What follows is a whirlwind of attraction, tension, and, of course, plenty of miscommunication.
This book has everything I could want in a love story—heartache, self-discovery, and a romance that keeps you rooting for the characters despite all their obstacles. The setting is beautifully described, making the town and its surroundings feel as immersive as the historical experience itself. Every moment felt rich with emotion, from the lighthearted mishaps to the deeper, more vulnerable conversations. It’s the kind of read that sweeps you up and leaves you with a full heart by the end. If you’re looking for a charming, feel-good romance with just the right amount of adventure, this one is a must-read!

Katie Campbell rarely acknowledged her hopeless romantic side. She’s always on her way to somewhere new as a travel writer. Better know as “Miss Adventure”, because of her well… misadventures, her memorable trips and mishaps leave her baffled that she’s getting paid for her clumsiness. But living a story of successive blunders is getting old. She wants to be know for more than her bad luck.
Graeme MacKerrow is deeply rooted in Scotland. Not only is he is raising his nephew, he also restoring his family’s ancestral manor house. The best way for him to raise the money to for the restoration is to open it up for people to come have an Edwardian Experience. Enter Katie, she’ll be there for the next three weeks to participate and document her experience for her loyal readers! His grumpy exterior and her lack of self preservation skills put them at odds. While Katie may not be looking to settle down, the more she gets to know Graeme she finds he may be heaven sent just her her.
The audiobook was done so well, with the dual pov and narration. Stina Nielsen is so easy to listen to, she sounds like the girl next door and Joshua Manning had an amazing accent that really brought our grumpy Scot to life!
This book surprised me in a way that few books do. It was full of depth and growth and finding your home in life. There was sadness, and loss and self doubt, but they never brought the tone down instead they were used as a building block to bring our character closer together. It was a beautiful, sweet romance, with a focus on the bigger picture of life. I received a complimentary advanced audiobook copy of this book from NetGalley, Thomas Nelson Fiction, and Zondervan Fiction Audio. All opinions listed are purely my own.

“And I knew if I did fall for a Scot he’d be the perfect one to catch me.”
This was a cute and cozy story! The narrators were great and the descriptions of Scotland were oh so enchanting! Katie was such a sweet and resilient character. I really related to how her heart finally felt settled when she visited her grandparents old town in Scotland. I felt much the same way visiting Italy - the connection to my great grandparents and their history was never stronger than while roaming the streets of Florence!
While a little slow in parts (and I honestly hoped for more drama), I did find the story and writing enjoyable. This is a great pick for fans of Austenland and Outlander!
Thank you, NetGalley and Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio, for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Some Like It Scot is an adorable romantic comedy. The female main character, Katie Campbell is a travel blogger who seems to get herself into clumsy, and awkward situations. The male main character, Graeme MacKerrow is a handsome Scot who is a wee bit grumpy at first sight. There are several comedic slap stick scenes that will have the reader chuckle at poor Katie's misadventures. This book has some sweet moments that have precious inspirational tenderness in them. There are other characters, Lachlin especially, that round out the story to make it a sweet romance.
I listened to the book and there are two narrators, one for Katie and the other for Graeme. I felt they both brought the story to life. I enjoyed it!!
*I was given a copy of this book by the publisher, and this is my honest opinion.
