I absolutely love the cover on this book., this was a great sequel to Storm Siren and really enjoyed my time reading this.
Siren's Fury was much harder to get through than Storm Siren. Nym's elemental powers are gone for most of the book. Those powers are what add a magical, engaging theme to the story, so the lack of such is felt heavily.
DNF at halfway. I enjoyed the first book but unfortunately the parts I most enjoyed were missing or didn't land the same in Siren's Fury (the friendships and the training) and the pacing was slow. I had a lot of unanswered questions at the end of the first book but by around the halfway point I realized I just didn't care enough to slog through. Siren's Fury just felt repetitive and like nothing much was happening, plot-wise. The stakes felt low because despite encounters with the villain, Nym was always left free to try and fail again.
i began reading this book only to find out it was book 2 and i didn't have or have read book 1. so it was sometimes really hard to understand what happend before, but after completing it, i overall liked the story and really have to read book 1 also sometimes to fully understand this story. in my opion this part got sometimes to many information dumps at a time, but maybye this was because i didn't read book 1.
This is one of my favorite series. Very few elemental books out there and this one is breathtaking! The right amount of swoon while keeping it Teen. I highly recommend this read
I'm not too sure if I'll read the final book.
Unlike the first book, I managed to finish this one. However, I'm still not loving this series. Nym just finished helping to save Faelen, and things seem to be calming down....well for like a few moments at least. Before she knows it, Nym losing the one thing that made her unique, even if she didn't want them.
When she losing her gift, she finally realizes what it meant to have them and the feeling that left behind when her gift is gone. On top of that, the person she cares about is no longer the same. She wants to save him but how?
A few chapters later and my interest in the book started to get lost. The book slowed and took a bit too long to get back up to speed. Eventually it did pick up and I was able to get through to the end, but I wasn't excited. I wasn't jumping to get my hands on the next book.
I'll probably give it some time before diving into the last book. Currently this is not my favorite elemental style series.
This is the second book in the Storm Siren series by Mary Weber. This book immediately drew me in. After the cliffhanger we got from book one, how can you not be drawn into this one to find out what happens with Nym.
This book may not be for everyone with some of the situations that surrounds the villain's. I would say give it a try for yourself because you never know. I am not fond of some of the stuff that went on with the villains, but enjoyed the book enough to be able to overlook them
I thought that Mary Weber did an awesome job with teaching some life lessons in this story as well, whether intentional or it just played out that way in the story, I think it worked well for the readers to read those as well.
After reading the ending to this second book, all I can say is that you really need to read this one. Even though the fist book leaves you with lots of unanswered questions, you will get your answers in this one and will never be able to guess how this one is going to end. Very well done. I am anxious to see what Mary Weber has in store for her readers next!
