A story of finding oneself , healing, enlightenment, and acceptance. It was well written and kept me engaged.
Many thanks to Snow Beach publications Ltd. and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
I received this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.
I was drawn by the concept of an older woman who was starting over after a abusive relationship and relocating to her home island, Mauritius. The protagonist Aimee de Roseville was well fleshed out initially. Transferring back to Mauritius for work on a momentous project was pushed the book forward. However, the initial plot on recovery was dropped abruptly as new ideas were explored but never fully developed. There were areas of tension which were introduced with many relationships such as her boss and girlfriend and mistress, Aimee and her remaining family members , but these were never fully developed. Had this been done, the book would have been good. The resolution were too pat and easy.
I liked many ideas in this book, but the execution fell flat too often.
