Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read a copy of this book in exchange for an honest opinion.
Death on Ibiza is considered a thriller. It starts with the currently popular prologue supposed to drum up excitement then starts the book with Chapter 1. the prologue only makes the story confusing and doesn't help escalate any tension. You only know that bad shit is going down. But you already know that from the cover of the book.
The book opens with a massacre and one survivor who has been set up to take the blame. His memory is fuzzy and as he tries to remember, he runs into a bad guy who is also a father who loves his daughter -- a bad guy with a big heart? So the two form a relationship of sorts: Nick the survivor to learn who the real murderer is and the father, a Russian (lots of Russians involved) to find his daughter.
You know the culprit before you are halfway through and I suppose the tension is supposed to be how that person gets caught.
The book isn't well written, no character development so you don't really care about anyone as the story progresses.
I finished the book but there are so many good books out there............
