Love this book. I have recently discovered the healthy and versatile joys of chickpea or gram flour, and was trawling for recipes online (sad that most blogs etc now exist purely as a vehicle for grabbing ad revenues) - when I got this book to review! I'm working my way through it, and there are some wonderful recipes for both sweet and savoury dishes. Some of them involve the use of other flours in addition to the chickpea flour, but nothing so exotic that I can't find it (even here in Scotland). Title says 'gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, vegan' so there's sure to be something for everyone here. Unusually it is divided into seasons, rather than sweet/savoury etc, but it works well. Also beautifully illustrated with mouthwatering photographs

If you’re already trying gluten-fee or dairy-free, then you would have come across chickpeas and the benefit of adding them to your diet. However, if like me, you are trying to eat healthier foods, then this book is going to help you change the way you look at the versatility of chickpeas.

There are lots of points that make this book unique and really easy to use. One of the first things I noticed was how the author has set it up to reflect recipes for each month, starting with January. The second that made me realise the author knew what she was talking about was the fact that she started out on a “standard” diet until she realised that her mood swings, indigestion and anxiety, were because of the food she was eating. Once she’d weaned herself off gluten, sugar and lactose, her health improved. This makes her recipes used and tested before being added to this book.

There’s virtually nothing that needs to be excluded when changing over to this way of eating. There are some beautiful recipes for maincourses, cakes, waffles and brownies to mention just a few. Lindsey Love has used almond milk or coconut milk to replace milk. Instead of using sugar, Lindsey uses coconut sugar and the flours used range from chickpes to rice.

Lindsey has included vegetarian and vegan recipes in this beautiful book.

I’m going to be using this book for years to come. I hope that you will find the book just as exciting.
