This sexy novella starts with a one night stand (that doesn't go quite as planned) that leads to a lovely HEA for a grieving photographer and an art teacher looking to spice things up and override a bad Valentine's day memory with something better. The story doesn't go into too much background detail though there is some family drama for Cal to come to grips with, and Rosie is ready to put her past relationship behind her. Some steamy sex leads to an emotional connection that Cal isn't sure he's ready for, until he comes to his senses and makes things up to Rosie to get their happy ending. There's a sweet epilogue too. There were two niggles that kept this from a higher grade - 1) Rosie keeps referring to herself as a slut for wanting a one night stand with Cal which I think is an attitude best left in the past - women can enjoy sex as much as men without having to feel shame for it. and 2) which is a spoiler:

( Cal puts on an art exhibit featuring Rosie's body (not nude but covered strategically with a sheet). While he did it as an apology and to show her how much he cares for her and believes her to be beautiful, he really should have asked her permission first. )

That said, it's a sexy and enjoyable story! 3.5 stars.

Im not sure you can handle one of my kisses.... I'll risk it for a taste of that mouth.

This book is fantastic I love the cheesiness of it hating V-Day which every single person can relate to and how Rosie picks up Cal... just fantastic.

I loved this book.

When I started reading Sleepless In London, I pegged it as a book for twenty-somethings. I quite enjoyed the first chapter without wanting to write home about it, but chapter two hooked me and from there I couldn't put it down.
I loved the two lead characters, gorgeous Rosie with her beautiful cheekbones and her insecurities and stunning sensual Cal with his own set of insecurities just under the surface.
I loved the setting. Anything set in London has a head start when it comes to places I like to read about, and this book set in and around Soho did it nicely for me. Finally I loved the story of two people determined to have a one night stand with no strings attached, except that almost immediately they started to discover they wanted more. Heidi Rice writes a great short story and this book is no exception!

5 - "I think you're about to make my year..." Stars!

Daring the Bad Boy, was another absolute treat of a read from Heidi Rice, I am starting to realize that this is an author I need to pay more attention to going forwards.

What starts out as a potential, sexy one-night Valentines dare, and one time hook-up between Photographer Cal Landry and Art teacher Rosie Smith, turns into so much more, after a bit of unplanned life modelling for him, and posing for naked photographs for her takes place. I loved Cal off the bat, and Rosie’s moxie even though initially Strawberry Daiquiri fuelled was a great match for him.

"If he doesn’t have a huge willy and know exactly what to do with it, I’ll eat my tits."

One night turns to two, and whereas Cal initially thinks he can keep their meetings strictly emotion free, something about Rosie and the way she sees him, has him opening up and revealing more about himself than he has ever done with a woman before.

Their hookup didn’t feel entirely casual anymore…

This was a quick, funny, sexy read. Plenty of plot to get your teeth into, and the drama was well balanced among the sexy-times to keep things interesting. Heidi seems to excel at this sort of read, and I cannot wait to read more from her soon.

"That wasn’t oral sex… It was more like oral nirvana."
