Mara Taylor is dying from a rare blood disorder, the only time she has a semblance of feeling better is when she is in the water. When she comes across a dying wolf, something about the animal has her wanting to save it. The odd thing about her new found friendship with the wolf is she is feeling better and she cannot explain why.

Cade Bowman is the alpha of his pack when he is attacked, kidnapped and only escapes barely surviving. He can't recall his past but is slowly regaining memories with the help of Mara. It isn't until he shifts back to man that he realizes Mara is his mate but he wont act on it because it would put her in harm. However Cade and Mara are entangled for more reasons than they even can begin to understand.

This was intriguing story that had several twists that kept me guessing. I will say I think it dragged in a few spots but liked the overall concept of this book. I liked Mara a lot, she is a tough cookie and definitely tugged on my heart strings. Cade was a different type of shifter and I enjoyed the twists on this. Great read.
