Baking is a favorite pastime in our home - courtesy my tween who is always waiting to, ready to bake! I initially looked at this book years ago when I was experimenting with baking. Recently, in an effort to work on my overdue review shelf, I picked it up from a library to try out some (hopefully for now, can stop at some, as all recipes look delish) to the delight of my dd.
The verdict - we cannot stop at one - for both the cookies we baked and trying out the different recipes :) Helpful step by step instructions with photos that help you with the process and tempt you further, and additional tips and notes throughout the book make baking a breeze. Recipes also includes an introduction to the cookie and nutritional facts along with all the other useful information. The book is split into sections including "Classic Cookies & Confections", "Bars, Brownies & Bites", "Fruit & Nut Cookies", "Biscotti & Shortbread", "Spirited & Spiced Cookies"; and "Sweet & Savory Sandwiches". And with 200 recipes , you can bake something almost every weekday :) all through the year.
And should try out the recipes in this book. Of course! But a word of warning, some (well, more than) recipes yield a large number of cookies, sure to make the kiddos and the sweet-toothed ones (like me) super thrilled, but like I said, just a word of warning.
Thanks to NetGalley for introducing me to this book. Opinions are fully ours
