I thought that this was a very intriguing book. I really liked the first part. I liked the way the different stories took place and the way the different authors perceived their own images.

I did not care for the second set of books where they were starker and made to be in a darker image. I'd still give it 3 stars and completing rave about it to people. They just were not my full range of tea cups.

Lovely written though!

The best part of this book was that is is made up of several short erotic stories based off the idea of Alice in Wonderland. I found the book very in your face with the erotic parts and I really only enjoyed the first chapter or story. If you are looking for just a very quick read that is focused more on sex then this is worth it...otherwise pass. Received through NetGalley for an honest review.

As a huge Alice in Wonderland fan, I found this book extremely hard to read.

Yes, this is a bit of an odd choice for me to read. I haven't rated some previous erotica very well, but it wasn't because of the subject matter, but the execution of it. Still, requesting to review erotica did feel strange. However, it was the subject matter that struck me. ...The Alice in Wonderland theme to be more precise.

The first thing to know is that 'erotica' is just the polite way to say 'porn.' ...That may not be entirely true, but if you search the web to define the difference between the two, you will find no definitive answer but a lot of suggestions that the only difference is in how an individual perceives it. So whether you want to call this erotica or porn makes no difference.

The theme here is that a number of different writers (all of them unknown to me) were telling stories based on the Lewis Carroll classic characters. Some of the stories were pretty directly set in Wonderland or at least with the familiar characters, while other stories took more of an abstract look at the "down the rabbit hole" (bizarre happenings) theme.

Surprisingly, I enjoyed many of these stories.

The first story in the book, "Lily White" by Morwenna Drake best captured the sense of Carroll's Wonderland and gave us a feel for what we would encounter if we continued on.

I also enjoyed "Tarts and Tea" by Holly Abair in which Alice has a spat with her sister which causes her to prefer Wonderland over the 'real' world and, being older now, she experiences some new, strange wonders that are much more adult oriented. This story felt the most like a genuine sequel (in tone, though certainly not content).

Bernie Mojzes' story "A Perfect Creature" was probably the best 'erotic' story. It manages to be sexy, hot, and aptly describing longing.

The rest of the book was generally pretty average, though nothing stood out as being truly terrible (which, I admit, really rather surprised me).

Be forewarned that the stories are generally pretty graphic, describing sex acts and using modern slang for the human anatomy. If you want your sex-in-literature to be a little more subtle (and let's be frank...most best-selling books have a fair amount of sex - just not quite so graphic) then this probably isn't for you. But if your curious about sampling some erotica with characters that are grown up versions of favorite childhood characters, then you should give this a read.

This collection contains the following:

Introduction - J. Blackmore
"Lily White" - Morwenna Drake
"A World of Her Own" - Alex Picchetti
"Tarts and Tea" - Holly Abair
"A Wasp, a Wig and Wanton Woman" - Gary Westfahl
"Wonders Wild and New" - Verity Penvenen
"If This Be Not Love, It Is Madness" - Theresa Sand
"A Perfect Creature" - Bernie Mojzes
"Midway Rides" - Alex Picchetti
"Waking" - ADR Forte
"The Boiling Sea" - Angela Caperton
Looking for a good book? The Circlet Treasury of Erotic Wonderland is an anthology of erotica based on Alice in Wonderland, edited by J. Blackmore that manages to be erotic and often brings us back to the familiar Lewis Carroll wonderland.

I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher, through Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.

A Fun anthology, very sexy. If you are a big Alice fan, don't expect them all to be rewrites of Alice and Wonderland.

10 hot short stories based on Alice In Wonderland - enjoyable but sometimes too much of a good thing is too much

A really goodo selection of short stories all based around Alice in wonderland, but where Alice is all grown up and back in wonderland exploring a different aspects of life. Some of the stories are gentle romance stories whereas others go straight for the gratuitous sex so of you are not into that kind of thing then maybe skip these ones. Brilliant collection with no bad stories in it.

This was not at all what I was expecting. I was hoping it had a different play off of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, but her as an adult. They were all short stories, I'm assuming written by different authors, and none of them were easy to follow along. I felt like I was missing huge pieces of the puzzle for each of the short stories when I attempted to read them and ended up just skimming them. I had high hopes for this one and ended up disappointed.

I thought some of the stories were interesting and entertaining but there were several stories where I thought the relation to Wonderland was stretched at best.

Excellent fractured fairy-tale erotica with themes of Alice in Wonderland. I'd highly recommend it for fans of the genre of fantasy erotica, especially of this sub-genre. A good mix of authors, some exceptional and the story-lines are interesting and engaging, something severely lacking in much erotic fiction. A well-produced collection.

I was unable to finish this book. I felt one story was decent and was hoping it would continue to grow, however, it ended suddenly and moved on to the next story. I felt the stories could have been a lot stronger and I was disappointed.

I'm a big fan of twisted fairy tales and Alice in Wonderland is a typical choice. This is a good collection of erotic stories. They are relatively tame compared to some I have read so a good choice for those not into anything more graphic than 50 shades. I enjoyed this collection and would recommend it to friends interested in erotica.

To be honest, this compilation impressed me for a couple reasons. First, it actually had a story. Many compilations sort of barely touch on the theme and basically jump right to the action. This one has actual storylines and fiction between the risque parts. Secondly, it didn't jump immediately on the 50 Shades bandwagon and focus solely on BDSM.

That being said, the insect sex thing was a touch offputting. I wasn't a big fan and I imagine many will have a similar reaction. However, the other stories more than make up for that single one.

It seemed like a good idea for someone interested in erotic literature and re-tellings of Alice... but it soon became clear that the stories in this collection are poorly conceived and even more poorly written fan-fic. I wouldn't even have been too bothered about the stories not making much sense, if only they were better written. Alas, it was a drag, and I found myself skipping lines and paragraphs and by the end even stories. What's this one about? Oh okay... are they at it yet? No... Oh yes they are. Yawn... Even the steamy scenes were dull as anything. It just wasn't for me.
