What a great book!! I honestly could not put it down!! It was fast paced, the characters were brilliant. It really had a Hobbit, Lord of the Eings kind of feel to it. The new worlds and creatures were described with such detail too. Keep them coming Emilyann, we want more!

Araina has been confined to the labyrinth’s walls all her life until she sees an unknown man walking through one if those walls. That man is captured and Araina and Darith decide to rescue him to discover what’s on the other side.
The characters were simple and there wasn’t much character development. They were all just basic teenagers from a dystopian novel. The author also invented a curse word (scrats, the combination of scars and rats, the two things Araina hated the most), which, honestly, felt pretty weird.
The plot was also too simple. The story was easily predicted and it didn’t feel original. Still, it was entertaining and the simple plot made it easier to read.

This book tells the story of a teen who lives in a labyrinth.

Writing wise, it's simple and crystal clear.

Character wise, they're also crystal clear, perhaps a bit too much. It feels as though I've already read a book featuring them, and it wasn't this one. In one hand, it would be great to have more realistic (and original) characters but, on the other, this fact makes the book a much lighter read.

Story wise, it's the typical YA book with a labyrinth setting. That isn't necessarily bad, it only makes it expected.

Overall, I liked this book. It was really simple but I read it really quickly and had lots of fun doing it.

Although nearly everyone seems to appreciate this book, I regret to say that I’m among the few that didn’t like it. It confused me, I struggled to follow the storyline, and I never really connected with the characters or their world.
In a word, this book didn't work out for me.
