As a crafter and fan of all things creepy, I was instantly drawn to this book. The projects in it are adorable, though maybe a little intimidating for a beginning crocheter like me. Still, the patterns are clearly explained, and I have a feeling that with the aid of a few instructional internet videos I can probably tackle at least some of the beginner projects, and aspire to work up to the Poe raven. I really like that one! Overall a fun and unusual book for crocheters.

I've been wanting to try crochet for a while, so when I saw this book, I had to pick it up. These patterns are right up my alley. The patterns are SO fun and creepishly cute. There are lots of good photos and the instructions seem easy to read. I look forward to trying some!

Creepy CUTE Crochet (4 stars)

Though I've attempted crochet in the past, I didn't have the coordination to keep it up as a hobby. Never the less, I adore amigurumi books, particularly those with scifi, fantasy, horror, and pop culture themes. This one has some really original and comical designs that I adored. Boo Boo the Voodoo Doll is my favorite but Poe the Raven and Bun Bun the Bunny are fun, unexpected critters too.

From a technical standpoint I can't say whether the instructions would be easy to follow but I'm guessing most of these (based on appearance and length of instruction) are not going to be easy for beginners. That said, it does have a section of crochet basics so if you're totally new you may find it an inspiring place to build your skills.

Unfortunately I've been unable to get this book to open on any of my devices which I'm gutted about. Looks fantastic and really appeals to me, just can't get it to open.

This book has lots of great patterns with pictures to help with creation. I think the patterns are best suited for more experienced crocheters.

I think I may have to buy a copy not just for the library and myself, but for most of my friends. Everybody who crafts, whether it be crochet or knitting, would love this.
The book devotes the first 20 pages or so to basic crochet stitches and then just gets going with no preamble into some of the most deliciously twisted crochet toys. My particular favorites are the evil bunny and nightmare the horse.
I do think that some of the patterns might be daunting to a beginner but the narration is light and entertaining, so you do feel like you can take on these denizens of the undead. A great book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book

A great resource for beginners wanting to learn amigurumi. As someone who loves amigurumi, but hasn't quite gotten the hang of it, this book made is easy to learn. Not only are the creature unique yet familiar, but direction are easy and straightforward. Between the pattern and the images that accompany them, these projects that seem impossible at first glance are actually doable. Beyond the patterns, there are additional tips and tricks to help the reader out.

All in all, I feel this is a great resource for those wanting to get into amigurumi, regardless of their skill level.
