No more chocolate! No more meddling! No more men!

New Year’s resolutions are great. Announcing them in a crowded bar, with a chocolate martini in her hand? Not Maddie Cash’s finest moment. It’s time this new realtor got serious about her life and this time, she means it.

But when hospital volunteering lands her at the bedside of bruised and battered Mick Meyer, who has no knowledge of Maddie’s reputation – and no memory of the kiss he begged from her during that long, pain-filled night, her best-laid plans are put in jeopardy. It’s not just his sweet tooth that’s tempting her.

The hunky bush pilot with the concussion has an old family property to unload. Making this sale could be Maddie’s professional salvation. But when Mick turns on the charm, she’s in danger of forgetting all her best intentions… on chocolate… on meddling… and especially on men.

No more chocolate! No more meddling! No more men!

Madeleine Cash stands on Greys Bar and announces to the clientele that her new year resolutions which includes getting serious about life and giving up both chocolate and men. Getting serious includes deciding to be a volunteer at he local hospital which treated her step dad after he had a heart attack last year. Little did she realise that on her first stint helping that she would be helping with Mick Meyer, an injured pilot who was visiting to participate in his friend's and her soon to be brother in law's stag do. He has concussion, other head injuries, a dislocated shoulder and knee injury. Her soothing touch helps him stop fighting the medics but also help form a bond between the two.

As he is grounded, staying in the town, he turns on his charm as he struggles to recover. He and his Mum have recently inherited a plot of land and cabin that they're planning to sell. Having the task of selling it could help Maddie save her job. . . . But she has a reputation for thinking of clients first and sales after. Will she get the sale or will he win her heart?

This is another Marietta story with many of the familiar characters, people and places which make them such endearing reads. I'm loving reconnecting with them all! You don't have to have read any other books in this or other associated series to enjoy this, but if you haven't done so, I suspect it will whet your appetite for more. I thoroughly enjoyed this romance and have no hesitation in highly recommending it. I'm looking forward to reading more stories about the Marietta community in future - especially one that tells Portia's story and hopefully gives her a HEA, too.

This is a sweet book (pardon the pun) that I enjoyed reading. We meet Maddie as she's about to make a spectacle of herself on New Year's Eve, including making several new year's resolutions that no one believes she can keep.

As part of Maddie's plan to improve her life, she begins volunteering at the hospital. She's in the ER when Mick is brought in after an aviation mishap. For some reason, despite being strangers, she is the only one who can keep him calm and ends up spending most of the evening at his bedside.

What follows is an interesting relationship where they feel oddly connected to each other, but not really understanding why. Until the end of the novel, this felt overly contrived to me - it just didn't seem to flow naturally. It's purely my subjective opinion and a departure for me from the author's other books. Usually her character relationships draw me right in and keep me hooked.

Fans of the author will want to read this book. And yes, it is a sweet novel both in chocolate playing a feature role and in the tameness of the romance. Readers that appreciate a hint of romance instead of a more explicit portrayal will enjoy this book.

Maddie Cash is trying to find her way and grow up. After a disastrous New Year's Eve, she is determined to be a better person, vowing to give up men, drinking and her beloved chocolate.
Enter Mick Meyer, a bush pilot who inherited property from his uncle and hosted a friend's bachelor party there. A gust of wind tipped his plane when he was trying to move it to shelter and injured him very badly including a concussion.
As part of Maddie's resolution, she was in the ER as a volunteer when Mick was brought in, and she was pressed into service. Although it was reluctant. . .she brought Mick a great deal of comfort through his pain.
On probation in her job as a real estate agent for not being pushy enough, she still did not push her clients to buy property she felt they did not match and took time out to help Mick recover and upgrade his property before selling, turning down 3 low ball offers and losing her job. Loved it!
Ms. Snopek's sweet and humorous is a winner. I asked for and received an ARC copy from Netgalley to peruse.

This series is cute and fluffy and kind of perfect for this time of the year!

And this one was no exception to that.

Its all very fluffy and overly cutes-y but at the same time there is more going on then just the romance. We have an actual plot, we have actual character development and nice writing.

I love the setting of the small town and that in each book we get more introduced to one of the characters that were already mentioned in a previous book.

If you are in search of a nicely done romance book that doesn't only has romance as its main plot line, and want nice writing and a cute small town setting? This book -as are the rest of the series!- is perfect!

For fans of Maddie this is a must read. Poor Maddie has taken a vow against chocolate and drinking to volunteer at a local hospital in a attempt to better her life. While at the hospital she meets a interesting chap who she begins secretly to crush on. When they have a chance meeting at a event, the romance is off and running. Its a sweet story with nice characters and a enjoyable read.

This is a very sweet book and a great addition to the series. It’s an overall feel good book. There’s a nice plot, character growth, and good writing. The small-town setting of Marietta is one of my favorites to read. This is a cute series centered around the Chocolate Shop with books in the series written by various authors. The books blend so well together and have characters from other books making appearances (though if you haven’t read the others you will not be lost). Enjoyable read.

What a fun read! There were so many moments where I laughed out loud, and all of the characters were so unique. This author is amazing, and I feel as though I have been living under a rock by not having read any of her books sooner.

Madeleine Cash has a New Year's Resolution. Or three. No chocolate, no meddling, and absolutely, positively no men. So naturally she falls in love with a cute pilot, Mick Meyer, who has no idea who she is beyond the angel who nurses his wounds while he is in the hospital. He had a "parking accident" with his plane, and now he is recovering slowly, going crazy except for his visits from Maddie. While it doesn't take long for them to fall for each other, it takes a lot of convincing for Maddie to realize that breaking a few resolutions might be necessary for her happily ever after.

I loved, loved, LOVED Maddie and Mick! They were so adorable, and throughout the story I was relating to them. I wanted to be their friend, scarf down chocolate together, and meddle in lives with Maddie. She had a heart of gold, and I thought it was wonderful how her "flaws" were really more like loveable quirks. While working in real estate, she was perfectly willing to lose a sale if it meant the customer avoided making a huge mistake. Commendable and spoke volumes about her character. Mick was your stereotypical macho guy - adorable in his gruffness and stubborn in handling sickness and injuries. He handled Maddie like a pro and was so sweet with her, even when he was in a lot of pain. A stand up guy, was Mick.

I am so excited that I have a whole bunch of books by this author to read! Her writing style is engaging and fun, and it brings laughter to anyone's day. A truly great read!

3.5 Resolutions Meant to be Broken Stars
* * * 1/2 Spoiler Free
Why is it whenever you decide to cut something out or vow not to give into temptation... That is the only thing that lands right in front of you...We have all had it happen... Swearing to give up shopping and then the one item you have been wanting LIKE FOREVER goes on a ridiculous, practically giving it away sale...Or you finally have decided no more cheesecake... and you are then invited to a tasting of...wait for it...Cheesecake...

I think you get the idea of where this is going...Roxanne Snopek has taken this idea and incorporated it into her part of the Love at the Chocolate Shop series...All of these book use the Chocolate Shop in Marietta, Montana to anchor this series and our main gal, Maddie Cash is close with the owner of the store. She also has her own sweet tooth to deal with along with other impulses... like maybe drinking a little to freely, being more concerned for her real estate clients then she should be... and sometimes giving her heart away, too.

All of these inclinations have not gone so well for Maddie; her boss at the company is not happy with her performance... she is not closing enough deals. This is one of the first "real" jobs she has had and does not want to be fired...But it could happen. She has 30 days.

During a "let's blow off some steam moment" Maddie, a little tipsy at the popular bar in town, makes the mistakes of letting her boss's asshat of a son surprise kiss her. So stunned by it all, Maddie stands and pronounces for all to hear...

NO MORE CHOCOLATE
NO MORE DRINKING
NO MORE MEDDLING
NO MORE MEN

Yup, from now on she will get her Sh!t together; close the real estate deals, cut out the chocolate and stay away from guys.

Mick Meyer has been traveling the world. He uses his piloting to assist in emergencies where ever it is needed and he is in Marietta to clean up some family property and then sell the place. He has a circle of friends here in town and all of them were at the location roughing it.

These two meet under intense circumstances... Maddie in full swing of her personal betterment program became a volunteer at the local hospital. She thought it would be manning a phone or passing out magazines... but the doctor in charge at ER has other ideas. He pulls Maddie to assist with an incoming patient... Mick who had been moving his plane to protect it from the elements hit an icy patch causing the plane to skid and throw him hard onto the ice. He hit his head, face and shoulder....Here at the hospital, he was in and out of it. The attending Dr told Maddie to stay with him even though she was trying to get away...

Terrific... With a not so nice Nurse Dave as the one in charge of her, Maddie is directed to stand by Mick's bedside while they try to set his shoulder and attend to him. She is informed this is not going to be easy and to talk to Mick to keep him calm.

Mick in his confused state smells chocolate when he looks at Maddie... she did have a tiny bag of caramels in her pocket... as a comfort... and Mick seems to think this woman is a saving angel for him. He is in so much pain as they set his shoulder; Maddie talks him through, keeping him focused on her and not lashing out. When they finally have him bandaged, the Dr. informs Maddie she needs to stay with him to keep him from going to sleep for a while.

It is during this time when both of these two develop this bond.... he sees angel and thinks of her that way... as someone very special. Maddie cannot deny the man...his way of looking at her, his build and power, even when injured.

From this moment these two are connected... whether they planned on it or not. Mick had plans to fix his land and sell...then get back to flying to all the causes out there... Maddie tries to be more hardhearted with her clients but she is who she is and cannot sell something that just wouldn't be right for them.

We get to experience all of the realizations; Mick liking Maddie just the way she is...and Maddie seeing she is someone who deserves a good guy like Mick.

This was a sweet, well done entry to this continuing series. All of the books can be read in any order and another one is coming soon after this. Writing about all of this Chocolate has me signing off and getting a treat for myself...

If I could rate this novel six-stars, I would. The Chocolate Cure is exactly that. I am a huge lover of chocolate and found this romance super addictive. Roxanne Snopek writes a hilarious, sweet, yet beautifully realistic story. A story that's bound to lure readers straight into its plot. Fast-paced, exciting, and hot. The main character, Maddie, has recently given up chocolate, men, and meddling. Boy, does she regret it. Her New Years resolution is hard to stick by...yet somehow she manages to pull it off...well, the avoiding chocolate. Men...and meddling not so. Maddie soon finds her way into hospital victim, Mick Meyer's life. Including his heart. But neither know it. Mick crashed his plane. He has dizziness and doesn't want to sit. However, his condition leaves him weaker than his cares to admit. But Maddie his volunteer helper has a way with her calling hands, perfect figure, and love of chocolate that makes Mick want her more than anything...sexy, fun, and absolutely one adventure readers do not want to miss! Overall, I highly recommend it to readers everywhere. The Chocolate Cure was a romance I couldn't stop reading...

A fun quick read.

Maddie Cash has decided to make some changes in her life. But she made the mistake of announcing her New Year’s resolutions in public. No more chocolate, meddling or men. Now everyone in Marietta is watching to see if she sticks with them. With her boss breathing down her throat about making a sale, she needs to focus even harder now. She is given until the end of January to sell a house or she will be unemployed.

Pilot Mick Meyer was admitted to the hospital after a mishap with his plane which ended getting a concussion. He came in the night Maddie was volunteering in the ER. They quickly became friends with Maddie showing up to help Mick with his rehab. When Maddie learned Mick was going to sell his uncle’s lake house, Maddie set her sight on making this sale. Maybe then her boss will see she is serious about her job.

When everything starts to fall apart in Maddie's life, Mick is there to help her pick up the pieces. Mick didn't expect to fall for Maddie, and now he has to convince her to let go of her insecurities and accept the fact that he is not like other men.

The book moved along at a fairly good pace. The writing was entertaining and the plot and characters were very likable. Maddie and Mick had great chemistry. The book ended a bit quick for me. I would have loved to have seen more of an epilogue.

Love continues to bloom at Marietta's chocolate shop. On a drunken whim Maddie Cash makes a New Year's resolution that is sure to fail as soon as she utters it! Giving up men, meddling, and chocolate? What was she thinking! Since she made this resolution in such a public way, she has no choice but to try her best to get through it. Then she meets Mick Meyer and things really get interesting.

This is a wonderfully fun read and one I would highly recommend.

Love the title and if only that was true in real life, I would be in heaven. It is hard to pick a favorite in this charming series but The Chocolate Cure by Roxanne Snopek maybe it. I found Maddie to be an interesting minor character in an earlier book in the series so it was a delight to find that she along with cute little Clementine but didn’t connect her to her stepsister’s story. However, as the story progressed I was reminded of Cinderella’s Cowboy and sure enough I had written “I like the well-meaning but self-centered stepsisters too. Hoping now that Maddie has had an epiphany of sorts, she will receive her own story.” My wish came true and this is her story. As it has happened before when reading a Roxanne Snopek book, I laughed and shed a few tears this time for the unsinkable Maddie.

The characters are endearing especially Maddie but realistic along with the story line. Maddie is still impulsive Maddie but really, would she be Maddie any other way. Her feelings of inadequacies warring with her self-confidence hit home with me, maybe with most of the readers. Thank goodness for Mick. Even with his knock on the head he could see the real Maddie. I only wish that we could have had an epilogue. I knew it would work out for them but I would love to see how it does. Hopefully, Ms. Snopek will give us readers an update on this quirky woman and her pilot in upcoming stories.

The perfect story to start your New Years, with Maddie making her own New Year resolutions, No Chocolate, No Men and No Meddling. Well you know she will fail, with plenty of laugh out moments and the bantering between her "guy" friend, Mick. Mick is an injured pilot that Maddie meets while volunteering in the local hospital and helps nurses him back to health, with some of her favorite chocolate from Sage's Chocolate Shop. Maddie just wants to make everyone happy, she really doesn't mean to meddle, but oh how I loved it!! How can she deny the chemistry between Mick, but she tries very hard to.

This is a great addition to the Love at the Chocolate Shop books, the few things in common is romance, chocolate and all of the wonderful friends of Marietta. Well written with great humor, that will have you laughing out loud.

This has been a wonderfully delightful surprise of a story. Not only are the characters real with personalities laced with humor and complexities, but the dialog is smart, judging by how quickly I finished the story, it captured my attention early on, keeping me entertained until the final page. The story development unfolded quickly, with Maddie and Mick capturing my heart, their relationship evolving at the perfect speed to be completely believable and enjoyable.

Once again Marietta, Montana has been the setting for another HEA romance, it seems as if the secret is out that this town is a sure winner for a story to take place. This is the fourth book in the Chocolate Shop series...each book written by a different author. Each has different characters, with the shop being the common denominator. It is a wonderful premise for an on going series. I hope I encounter more stories set in this town, I'm finding I like the setting here and I'd like to spend more time in this place.

Oh wow! Roxanne Snopek you made me cry! The Chocolate Cure. There is a real talent to taking an apparently ordinary person and making their story matter, and with Maddie Roxanne Snopek has succeeded in doing just that. This story takes two ordinary people and makes their story matter and I loved that. Of course there was chocolate too, and what's not to love about chocolate. This whole story was just lovely.

This New Year’s while surrounded by people in a crowded bar Maddie Cash was still feeling somewhat alone. Maddie vows to have fun anyway that night which leads to one drink after another and a humiliating New Year kiss at midnight with her boss’s son and a public announcement to give up men and chocolate.

After the humiliating night Maddie decides she needs to do some growing up and get her life in order. Maddie finds herself volunteering at the hospital when Mick Meyer is brought in with some injuries after a plane crash and somehow Maddie ends up sitting with Mick while it’s determined if his head trauma is serious. While on pain meds Mick begs Maddie for a kiss which she thinks he will soon forget when they do go their separate ways but afterwards Maddie finds that Mick has a property he needs sold and Maddie is desperate to save her reality job.

The Chocolate Cure is the fourth book in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series set in the lovely small town of Marietta, MT that has been featured in quite a few different series. The Chocolate Cure can easily be read as a standalone novel but there are mentions of previous characters and places from other books from this town. In this particular book Maddie is a frequent customer of Copper Mountain Chocolates which is the center of the Love at the Chocolate Shop series.

For the most part this was a completely enjoyable little romance read as with most of those based in Marietta. I will say I did think a bit of the hospital scenes were a bit unrealistic to me but that really didn’t hurt my liking the couple this book is about. It was only little things like Mick walking out on his own, I’ve never known a hospital that didn’t insist a patient stay in a wheelchair when discharged. And Maddie not wearing gloves, I would think they would have taken her away from the patients before that would ever happen. Small details that seemed off but thankfully aren’t a huge part to the story so in the end I still really liked this one.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

Something about this felt off from the beginning - I'm not sure it was just the writing and editing or something else that I can't properly articulate. Maddie and Mick both felt undeveloped in their motivations and their attraction to each other - it seemed more like a convenience factor and right place/right time than anything deeper or meaningful. Maddie also drove me a bit bonkers in that she was just all over the place and her "new self" and resolutions seemed silly and unformed. Mick was just odd - even at the end, I didn't feel like I even knew who he was or what he wanted. I liked the glimpses into Marietta (the site of one of my favorite series, Carrigans of Circle C) but this book didn't live up to the other I read in this series.

The Chocolate Cure came out last week on January 4, 2017, and you can purchase HERE. I LOVED the first book in this series, Melt My Heart, Cowboy, and am definitely still going to read books 2 and 3!

He'd never had a head injury before. He'd expected the nausea, the dizziness, the confusion. He hadn't expected infatuation. He wanted to kiss that little spot where her throat ticked and bobbed. Was she feeling it too?

I adored The Chocolate Cure for several reasons, but mainly because I recognized Maddie in so many people I know, and even a bit in myself. For about 90% of the human population feeling like we don’t fit the job, or that we aren’t good enough, or that we’re missing something but we can’t quite describe what that is… brings us to exactly what Maddie is experiencing. She’s determined to “grow up” but in her self imposed change myself mode she’s also not seeing that she can “grow up” but she doesn’t have to leave people behind or… be perfect. She simply has to be herself, the rest will fall into place.

Maddie is a real estate agent who really isn’t cut out for that throat slashing profession. She’d rather find the perfect house for a young couple that they can truly afford or keep the elderly couple in the home they’ve lived their entire life in with some outside help instead of selling it. So, she’s not meeting her commissions or sales quota and that’s causing some big troubles back at the office. She has a month to turn her productivity around or… well, there’s the door.

With that overshadowing her New Year’s Eve celebrations, added to the fact that most of her friends are with their own families this holiday, Maddie enjoys herself at Grey’s Saloon, drinks a bit too much and makes a silly resolution from her spot on the top of the bar… so not cool. No chocolate. No meddling. No men. *cough* What in the world has she gotten herself into?

A few days into her “new life” she’s volunteering at the hospital when a friend of her step-sister’s fiance comes into the ER with some major injuries. Mick is a pilot and had been at his newly inherited property with Chad and friends doing the bachelor stag thing when he’d decided to move his plane – without buckling himself in and took a nasty fall when the tire hit a large rock. Now he has several injuries not counting a mild concussion. Maddie happened to be the one person available to stay with him and watch over him as he was worked on. During that one night Mick was at his most vulnerable – sick, injured and a bit out of it. But he did remember one thing – Maddie and her magic healing touch.

The Chocolate Cure allows this couple to see each other with all their vulnerabilities laid bare, eventually. To see, to feel and to begin to care about someone aside from themselves. Maddie and Mick are a believable, realistic couple in the process of falling in love. They’ve just found someone who they truly love and discover that they are loved in return. And that is a precious moment for any couple. Their happy ever after is implied from the rest of the story… but it’s truly there, simply not wrapped up in a wedding or an engagement ring. I have no doubt that Mick and Maddie will continue their romance to it’s natural conclusion – perhaps we’ll run into them again for a bit during the rest of this series.

I would highly recommend this story, and this series, to any Romance reader. A clean romance that gives us hope and reality all wrapped up in two people who belong together. Yeah, you’re going to want to pick this one up – it’s well worth your time.

Maddie made a New Year’s Resolution-no chocolate, no meddling, no men! Maddie’s life is a bit complicated-announcing her resolutions in a pub can never be a good idea and, but also she might lose her job, if she doesn’t reach her boss’s demands. She’s is a kind-hearted woman and that’s what makes the job difficult for her sometimes.

Mick had a plane accident and is in the hospital with a concussion. His first night is kind of a blur, he remembers an angelic woman, but that’s about all he can recall at first. The night of the accident Maddie was volunteering in the ER and since then they became friends, but surely there was an attraction between them, if they wanted to admit it or not. As Maddie is helping Mick recover, can they find their way to love?

It was a fun and sweet story with great characters. I liked how the story progressed and also the chocolate in the story. I really enjoyed reading it and can’t wait to read the next installments.

I really enjoyed The Chocolate Cure by Roxanne Snopek.

I loved watching the relationship between Maddie and Mick unfold, they made me laugh, swoon and kept me entertained all throughout the book. They were truly perfect for each other.

The Chocolate Cure is a well written, sweet, fun read and I highly recommend it.

A great addition to the Love at the Chocolate Shop series, each book can be read as a standalone.

This is a great book; this is the fourth book in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series written by Roxanne Snopek. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Every girl wants to be loved. Can she trust what she feels, what he says he feels for her is real? Considering his injury is it worth the risk, when it could all be her imagination? Chocolate is the cure for everything!

A bit of a wild child, Maddie Cash begins the new year with some serious resolutions. She has to if she wants to avoid making a fool of herself again like she did on New Year's night. So no more chocolate, alcohol or guys for her. She's going to turn over a new leaf and volunteering at the hospital might possibly just what she needs. Little does she know that one seriously concussed bush pilot is going to push her to break every single one of those resolutions.

Mick Meyer is bruised, battered and grounded. Never on the round long enough to grow roots, the man with the soul of an eagle must lay low for a while. Lucky for him Maddie is at hand to keep him company and she's the right person to help him unload the property he recently inherited. But the more Maddie is around him, the more he wants to keep her around. In fact, he wants to stick around a lot longer too.

The Chocolate Cure by Roxanne Snopek is book number four in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series. This is Maddie Cash and bush pilot Mick Meyer's story. I thoroughly enjoyed Maddie and Mick’s story! Their romance was a fun romance to read. I loved the humor, emotional aspects, and the sweet romance. A great read that left me still thinking about their story. Loved it! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

**Caution do not read this book without chocolate by your side.**

First of all I enjoyed The Chocolate Cure. My problem was more with me than the book itself. Maddie Cash was a secondary character in Cinderella's Cowboy and I spent a lot of time trying to remember her. All I could remember was that I wasn't a fan of hers. But The Chocolate Cure finds her attempting to be more mature and less selfish.

In the past, Maddie was more of the party girl/arm candy type but now she wants to change her ways. She wants to be taken seriously and that means having a job, living on her own, and taking care of herself. Maddie has even made New Year's resolutions to give up meddling, men, and chocolate. Let's be honest here, her meddling isn't really meddling. Maddie is a realtor with a conscience and has a tendency to say if a house isn't right for a client. As far as men….Yes she's probably gone through half the population of Marietta, Montana. But a girl has to kiss a few hundred frogs, before she finds her prince. Chocolate….Okay, I have no idea what she was thinking.

Maddie’s good deeds lead her to volunteer at the local hospital. On her first day, she ends up being assigned Mick Meyer, a friend of her future brother-in-law. Mick has just had an accident involving his Cessna and is pretty beat up. Turns out he has a concussion, among other problems. But there's something about Maddie that eases his pain. With no family around, Maddie feels as if she has to stick around, keep him company, and watch over him. The two become attracted to each other. But Maddy refuses to give in to her attraction because she wants to be a new person.

A lot of the book was spent on Mick and dealing with the aftermath of his accident. But this allows you to see what a kindhearted and caring person Maddie is. Roxanne Snopek has written a nice, sweet (no pun intended) romance. My biggest complaint is that there isn’t an epilogue to truly wrap up the story.

Maddie decides to make a few New years resolutions to give up Men, No Meddling and no Chocolate.
These resolutions are made whilst she is very drunk in the pub on New Years Eve.

Maddie quickly regrets her resolutions as living in a small town means everyone knows everyone which means they are just watching and waiting to see if she fails.

She meets Mick a Pilot.
Unfortunately things take a bad turn when he crashes he's plane and ends up in hospital.
Maddie soon nurses Mick back to health and the two begin to fall in love! Breaking just one of her resolutions.

I didn't really enjoy reading this book I found it slow to get into the storyline and for the characters to develop.
I feel this may of been because I hadn't read the previous books and no way reflects the Author.

I was looking forward to reading this book as I'm a chocoholic but I guess it wasn't quiet what I was expecting.

Overall a nice read but not for me.

This is book four in the series and there is a lot of background you need to guess at to fill in the gaps as you go along, a pet peeve of mine.

We are introduced to Maddie, who obviously has a reputation although for what isn't revealed until much later in the piece. After a wild New Years Eve night Maddie swears off meddling, men and most appallingly chocolate. Trying to improve her image, Maddie signs up for an attempt at being a hospital volunteer. This is where she meets Mick, who has gained himself a concussion after a minor plane accident. Cue insta-attraction. Against all the rules she shares a kiss with Mick which she assumes he will forget all about. Although ultimately being a volunteer didn't work out, Maddie spends a great deal of time helping Mick recover from his injuries and Mick finds himself attracted to Maddie but she is strangely unobtainable. Thankfully this is a light fluffy romance and everything ends as it should.

This book failed to make me interested in reading any more in the series. It felt rushed in execution and didn't offer any hometown 'feels' that one would expect from a series of this sort. Although the main character, it never felt like Maddie was fleshed out enough and she felt very two dimensional.

This was just so-so for me.

Oh so sweet and cute! I remember reading Cinderella's Cowboy and seriously disliking Maddie and her sister. They were not nice at all to their stepsister and heroine of the book. At the time, I couldn't imagine a scenario in which I would actually like either of them. But Snopek has done a pretty good job rehabilitating Maddie and her mother here in The Chocolate Cure.

By turning Maddie into a sweet but misunderstood young woman, we see a gentler side of her. She still comes off as too impulsive, careless, and thoughtless. But that's better than malicious and nasty. At least here we see that she is becoming more self-aware.

Mick is kind of heartbreaking. We first meet him when he is at his lowest and seriously, that makes all the difference. Panicked, terrified, lashing out: Mick is in terrible need of help and Maddie gets drafted to be that help. It's comfort at first touch.

As Mick continues to need Maddie and Maddie continues to provide support, they grow closer and the bonds between them grow stronger. I really liked seeing Mick in need. Showing off his vulnerability against Maddie's caretaking was a stroke of genius because it really showed her to advantage. But Mick is more than just a guy who needs help. He has his own personality, even if it's somewhat masked by the concussion and post concussion syndrome.

So far, this is hands down the best book of the series.

At Midnight on New Year’s, Maddie Cash announces her New Year’s Resolutions to all at Grey’s Saloon. No Meddling, No Chocolate, No Men. It doesn’t take long for it to make it through town to her Mom, and Maddie realizes, after waking up with a hangover, that it is time to get serious about her life and her job as a realtor. Part of getting serious is volunteering at the hospital, where she is on duty when they bring in a victim of a plane accident, who just happens to be part of her sister’s fiance’s bachelor get away, so she is pressed into service to help him.
Mick Meyer ends up in the hospital in pretty bad shape. The angel in the ER is the only thing that keeps him going. Lucky for Maddie, he doesn’t remember her giving in to his begging for a kiss. When she is given an ulitmatum at work, the property Mick needs to sell just may help her keep her job. She just has to stick to her resolutions!
Maddie is a good person, despite what others perceive as her flightiness. She can’t stand the thought of someone buying a house that isn’t right for them. She helps Mick whenever he needs it. She fights hard to stick with her resolutions and deny her attraction to Mick and her love of chocolate.
This is book 4 in the Love at the Chocolate shop series and it is a truly sweet romantic read. I really like Maddie, she is a genuine person, flaws and all. Mick has been a wanderer, but finds himself at home with Maddie and in Marietta.

The Chocolate Cure

Roxanne Snopek

THE CHOCOLATE CURE is the fourth book in the Love At The Chocolate Shop series. This is an awesome series, by various authors, which can be read as standalones but if you are like me, you always have to read the series in order! I am really enjoying this series, giggling out loud as I go, and recommend it to everyone who loves fun, romantic stories that are hard to put down.

Realtor, Maddie Cash is having a crazy New Years Eve at her favorite hang out, where she announces to everyone, from the top of the bar, no more chocolate, men, meddling, or drinking!
She needs a life change and thinks this is it! Well, hang on tight! Maddie is going on a wild and crazy ride.

She decides to volunteer at the local hospital where her first patient is Mick Meyer. Mick is a bush pilot who is in Marietta to clean up family property that was just left to them by an estranged uncle. While there, he gets hurt while securing his plane and gets a concussion.
Maddie does help him in the hospital but finds she can't stay from Mick even though she has given up men. The situations these two find themselves in and the banter between the two of them is laugh out loud funny.

THE CHOCOLATE CURE is filled with lots of funny moments and lots of chocolate of course. There is plenty of romance and some very serious situations that effect both Maddie and Mick. The characters in this heart warming story are very real and relatable. I wanted to go and hang out with Maddie and Mick and chow down on those awesome chocolates they are always eating! Once I started reading THE CHOCOLATE CURE I had a hard time putting it down. Will Maddie and Mick just stay friends or will they be able to figure out how to take it to the next level? You have to read this awesome heartwarming tale to find out. I loved learning more and more about all the people in Marietta Montana and can't wait to catch up with them again.
