Recent widow, Jane Marsh, is determined to recapture a rich, full life. She strives for youthful fun by riding a bicycle downtown on her lunch hour in a suit and heels, smoking cigars, eating at hipster restaurants, and re-entering the dating scene, even if her dates prove to be peculiar.

Her most fervent desire, though, is to join an exclusive dinner club. She auditions, but is barred when her housekeeper is found murdered, and she and her guest list become the suspect list. A pleasant cozy mystery. Enjoyable family dynamics with her two sons and their girlfriends. Her own dating experiences were peculiar. Striving to be a part of the dinner club did not appeal to me. The circumstances of the deaths of her two husbands was unusual. The mystery was interesting, but not compelling. There are some clever misdirections. Also some amusing word plays.. I would read the next one in this series.

Everything Bundt the Truth was a delightful start to a new series. We have our main character, Jane, who is trying to get back to life after both of her husbands dying of questionable circumstances and children moving on and out with their own lives. One step Jane is taking to add more to her own life is attempting to join a dinner club that a friend of hers is a member of. Then the murder of her new cleaning lady happens, and we are off.
This book was definitely an easy read, story flowed nicely. The only thing that bothered me was the main character wanting to solve the murder mostly so she can become a member of the dinner club. Focusing on that as a big reason made the main character seem almost shallow and flighty.
Overall, the writing was smooth, the story had just enough misdirection to keep you engaged without getting lost. Definitely would recommend.
