This book has some lovely images and the words rhyme really nicely. Would make a lovely Easter present to keep instead of a chocolate egg.
We have Debby Anderson’s Jesus Loves Me book and have read it/sang it over and over and over. When we saw this book by her we just had to check it out! We love the illustrations to her work! The cover says to sing it to the tune of Row, Row, Row your boat. We had found that singing it to the tune of Jesus is Alive works better for us. End result, Jesus Loves Me is still our favorite, but this one was cute.
Jesus is Alive! That is the good news!
What a colorful, delightful children's book to share with the little ones in your life. I loved how the pictures depicted children from all cultures and how love knows no color.
Because Jesus Is Alive we can see his love everywhere and everything we do. How does Jesus show his love? He gave himself! What a great description of love for us.
A Special Thank You to David C Cook and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
Jesus is Alive! He is indeed and this book is a lovely introduction for young children about Easter in a very simplistic and age appropriate manner.
The illustrations are colourful and fun, the most endearing one being the children sitting on Jesus knee. The rhyming nature of words and the amount of text on each page make it a good book to read in a group and is not too overwhelming for the toddler attention span.
The only thing I question about the book is the pictures in a square in the corners of each page. I understand that its being related back to the bible, however there is no explanation at either the front or the rear of the book about these added pictures.
Overall it was a lovely read and would make a lovely gift to a preschool or toddler child. I can see it being a favourite to many.
This delightful board book, written in rhyme, is a perfect celebration of the resurrection of Jesus that little ones will totally understand.
"Jesus is alive!
Happily we sing!
Come together everyone!
Jesus is our King!"
The colourful, happy illustrations portray children of many different cultures oozing with happiness and engaging in the world around them. You can feel the love they have for each other and everyday life in general as you read along from page to page. The author has inserted tiny squared illustrations of the burial tomb of Jesus in the corner of some of the pages. The huge stone that sealed his tomb is rolled away signifying that He has risen and returned to His rightful home in heaven. These added mini pictures give parents an opportunity to relate the Biblical meaning of Easter to their kids.
I love all the little creatures that God created represented in this tale. They are depicted so well. The diverse selection of children surrounded by these adorable baby animals are ecstatic as they go about their daily lives free to worship the risen Saviour of the world at this very special time of year. I highly recommend this book.
This is a good book for babies and toddlers. The illustrations are fun and colorful and will delight children and adults alike. The rhyme in the book is set to the familiar tune of Row, Row, Row Your Boat, making it easy for parents to sing this new song about Jesus with their children. This book has simple truths about Jesus. There are also small pictures from the Easter story that parents can use to talk to their children in more detail about who Jesus is, His death and resurrection, and God’s gift of salvation.
What a great book to illustrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to young children. While it is written primarily for babies and toddlers, this book would also be great for young readers. Children of all ages and adults alike will enjoy this fun book. The illustrations are great and they tell the story more than the words can. This would be a great gift to put in the Easter basket to show the glorious meaning of springtime and Easter, how Jesus lives in us and we are a new beginning. I received this as a free ARC from David C. Cook Publishing on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Jesus is alive is written in rhyme and could easily be put to a tune that is sung with young children. This book teaches about the love of Jesus to the people of earth, but looking carefully you will also see the Easter story depicted. The colourful, happy illustrations portray children of many different cultures participating in springtime activities with happy faces and fun interactions. The author has inserted tiny squared illustrations of the Easter story (palm branches, praying in Gethsemene, the empty tomb etc.) These added mini pictures give parents an opportunity to relate the Bible story of Easter to their children. This would also be a great book to use with the younger children in a Christian school or Church school. A great addition to the family library of Christian families as well as churches and Christian schools.
