Nancy Mehl is one of the best Christian suspense writers out there, and Dark Deception shows why.
Kate O'Brien and her sister Kelly were attacked in their off-campus apartment mere days after moving in for freshman year. Only Kate lived to give her eye-witness testimony at the trial, and she has been in witness protection ever since.
Four years down the road, new evidence casts doubt on Kate's testimony, and the man she identified as her sister's killer is released. Deputy US Marshal, Tony DeLuca, was her protector four years ago, and he is tasked with bringing her back to St. Louis to testify at a new trial. She has thus far refused to testify again, but once Tony is on the case, she agrees. When a new development has them staying in Shelter Cove, AR, Kate's life hangs in the balance once again.
Can Tony keep her safe when her attacker seems to be more than one person? Who can they REALLY trust?
