If you’re from Texas, new to Texas or just curious about it then you MUST get this book. It would also be perfect for the classroom or library as a fun resource. There’s also lots of quotes from those well-known or deeply connected to Texas sprinkled throughout.
Despite the fact the author isn’t from Texas and was raised up north she managed to put together an amazing book that should make Texans proud.
It’s an A to Z outline of all things Texas with fun illustrations, quirky facts, interesting bits on the culture and historical data to teach even long time Texans a thing or two. It was fun to learn how many of the ‘pure’ Texas icons actually had their originations from across the world. Brahman cattle originated in India, the first settlement was established by people from the Canary Islands and would become San Antonio, the Crape Myrtle came from China, a sailing ship in a Galveston museum was built in Scotland and so much more.
Blaise seems to have taken great pains to show the wide diversity in the history of the Lone Star State as well as how that has continued through the modern era. Sources were provided so you can do further research on your own.
By the end you’ll be craving a glass of sweet tea to go with your BBQ.

Yep, need to buy this one for my Texas cousins! Sounds just like them! I love Texas; one of my favorite states, actually. This book is loaded with good info about the state and it's people. Anyone planning a trip there should enjoy it.

Super interesting book of random facts. This book is Texas Yall!! Everything you ever wanted to know about Texas and a ton of things you didn't.. There are some quick tidbits and also come longer stories and history. There are even quotes by famous people about Texas.
Did you know October 26 is Chicken Fried Steak Day? Neither did I until I read this book. The Iron Skillet is the official state cooking vessel of Texas. This book is really filled with so much interesting facts. It's great for kids and adults both.

No one loved their state like Texans. We have Texas-shaped meat and cheese platters at our grocery store, and any word about Queso not being the best here will lead to fighting words. The new book This is Texas Y'all takes the wonders of Texas and separates them by the letters of the Alphabet. Did you know Texas has a large Hindu population? Did you know that the chuck wagon is the official vehicle of Texas? This book combines cute drawings and fun facts which are great for those who reside in the greatest state in the nation, and their friends who do not.

A fun mini almanac of facts about Texas. It is beautifully illustrated, the information is fascinating and it's a quick read.

This is a really fantastic A to Z through Texas. I love the style of illustration and the way the information is organised. Snapshots of information make this very readable and I really hope to see similar books for other states (and countries!). I can imagine This is Texas Y'All! will be very popular.

I'm a born and raised Texan who clearly doesn't know as much about her state as she thought! This is an incredibly interesting book, full of facts worthwhile for absolutely anyone from Texas, living in Texas, or curious about Texas. The illustrations are a great addition that makes it all the more fun. I would definitely recommend it!
