This is a great little reference book, consisting of 50 different medical topics and their origins. Each topic (e.g., organ donation, IVF, keyhole surgery) is addressed on a single page, with some shorter facts and a longer paragraph. There seems to be just the right information, with some good graphics to separate each topic. This would be a good read for anyone medically-minded and curious!

This is a cool little book. A lot of solid information on Medicine for the layman.

Full of a lot of great information for those that are educated in medicine and those that would like to learn more about it.

A nice introduction book that gives a great overview on different areas that make up medicine.
If you are interested in learning more on what makes up medicine, what it might take to start a career in the field or just generally want to get a better knowledge on how medicine came to be what it is today and what the field is made up off, this is a great book!

I would highly recommend it to any student that is interested in going into medicine.

It is not a book for anyone that already knows a good amount of medicine -clearly since it is a "beginner" book so if you are not a beginner? You can figure out for yourself if it is a book you are interested in or not!

A great introduction to the main health issues covered by the national press on a daily basis. A chapter on health policy and another on the structure of the NHS would be welcome additions for a UK audience.

The Know It All books offer a fast-paced look into various topics with lots of fun images thrown in. They cover a lot of topics with a good overview amount of data. Each topic is easily digestible on one page so it's great to flip to a random page and read (or read in order like I did). The books introduce new vocabulary that you would need in order to understand the next few topics.

This book was also a fun, quick, informative book to get through that would be great for anyone who is fascinated with medicine without have advanced degrees on the subject. I enjoyed some fun facts that I learned here like "in vitro" meaning in glass and a big overview on some scary diseases and conditions such as Malaria.

A basic overview on topics in medicine - useful if you need a quick reference, but not so helpful if you're looking for in-depth information on a single topic. Medicine as a topic is, of course, massive, but with the Know It All guide you get a good overview.

All of the Know-It-All series of books are excellent! Each of them gives a synopsis of the most important things to know on the topic in a brief but well-laid-out manner, and Medicine is no exception! These books are a good introduction or a good review, as well as a starting place for discovering which topics you'd like to learn more about afterwards -- and then you can get a more in-depth book on just that topic.
