My Fair Baron is a My Fair Lady type story with some twists. It follows Lady Claire and Baron William Knightley. When Claire's brother passes away, she learns she needs to marry in order to gain her childhood home. Claire's friend Izzy suggest a business arrangement with the impoverished Baron who currently works in a brothel. In exchange for his help, she'll give him a generous sum so that he'll be able to leave behind his life in the brothel. The story is cute, especially in the beginning when they are getting to know each other. Although Will is a baron, he left his title behind awhile ago and so he's unpracticed at being proper in society. Claire and Izzy help Will to fit in to society so that their relationship will be accepted. Of course as things progress and they get to know each other, a relationship develops. I enjoyed the story and found it well written but the ending did drag out for a bit while things wrapped up very easily.

Novelist Lady Claire Hastings loves her unconventional, independent lifestyle, but then she learns that her brother Charles has died & in order to retain her family estate in Edwardian England, she must marry within the month. Her friend Izzy has a solution, William Knightley, a male escort who works at her best friend’s bordello.
A well written easy to read novel. The characters are well developed & likeable. I wasn’t sure whether I liked Will to begin with but as the novel progressed & his history was revealed as well as his romantic side I liked him more & more. Claire is independent & has become an author so doesn’t want to give everything up for marriage plus she’s lost everyone she loved & is now afraid to love. The pace is gentle but still kept me interested & I enjoyed it very much. I liked Izzy & hope she has her story also Oscar needs his story.
What a great book. The two best friends stuck together through the whole book. The main male character was very likeable. It had me laughing and crying throughout the book. This is a new author for me and I will definitely be on the lookout for more of her books.
This is the first book I have read by this author, but definitely will read more. I greatly enjoy historical romance books and this book did not disappoint! I loved all the characters...especially Will, Claire and Izzy (Izzy could easily have her own novel). The author did an excellent job of developing the characters so you had a good sense of what motivated them in their actions and interactions. The storyline was unique (in that Will had been working in a bordello). The mutual benefit for both Will and Claire to appear to have a relationship wasn't unique, but I loved how their feelings developed for one another. I received a complimentary copy of this book for my review; however, I would have gladly paid money to read this book!
This is a new author for me. but she writes wonderfully. Lady Claire Rose Hastings is a writer of a popular mystery series. She has her sleuth and companion fly to the stars, for example. Baron William Bertram Knightley has a sordid background but he is willing to help Claire out.
The characters seem so real, both of them are very insecure, but they persevere. The descriptions help give you the background to this very enchanting tale. The plot is excellent and woven with a mastery of a long time writer. I loved her story, the way they stood up for each other after so short of an acquaintance. The way their feelings developed, most amazing. When this story is read, it is smooth, even paced, and well written. I read it in one sitting but it is very racy. I can hardly wait for her next book.
I received this from Net Galley and voluntarily reviewed it.
