Description
ROCKY MOUNTAIN THRILLERS are fast-paced novels with a dangerous edge. Each stand-alone story is set in the brutal and beautiful Rocky Mountains and contains intrigue, romance, and break-neck action. Read all three.
A Reluctant Hunter...
Desperate to provide for her young daughter, accountant Shanna Clarke accepts an invitation to go on a company hunting trip in the Wind River Mountains, even though she's never shot anything in her life. If she can get through it without embarrassing herself, maybe that sought-after promotion will be hers.
But then her boss starts shooting... at her.
...Becomes the Prey
Dodging gunfire and struggling to survive in the Wyoming wilderness, Shanna stows away in the back of a rancher's truck. A snowstorm, a grizzly bear, and a murder rap can't keep Shanna and rancher Jace Lantry from discovering why she was targeted. But knowing the reason is only half the battle... the rest has a good chance of killing them both.
The first book in Ann Voss Peterson's Rocky Mountain Thriller series, Manhunt is a fast-paced, pulse-pounding novel of suspense and romance. It is approximately 55,000 words long.

Great storytelling.
Loved the characters.
Promising start to the Rocky Mountain Thriller series. Manhunt is a solid romantic suspense, with its fast paced storyline and compelling character I really enjoyed this one and will recommend it to readers
A good thriller novel that sets a good pace, Rocky mountains are beautifully pictured. Shanna, however, seems to be super human at times - with a badly sprained neck and a painful leg injury, she walks for hours through treacherous, uneven ground covered in slippery snow!
MANHUNT…….The title is definitely apt for this first in a fabulous suspense Rocky Mountain thriller!
Ann Voss Peterson has penned a fast-paced, action-packed and keeps the reader thoroughly engaged throughout the entire book. With strong characters and exceptional world building, I’m very excited for the next instalment in this gripping series.
When Shanna's boss takes a shot at her on a supposedly 'fun' weekend hunting trip, she knows she has to get help. But who? And why is he trying to kill her? The police won't protect her, her boss has paid them off. She's got nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, until she stumbles into Jace's cabin in the Wyoming wilderness. Former cop and all around rugged guy, Jace isn't sure if he believes Shanna. All he knows is that he sees the desperation in her eyes and hears the fear in her voice and knows he's got to help her.
I haven't read anything from Ms. Peterson before, but this short novel definitely grabbed me from the word go. The action didn't slow until the very end and I my heart was pounding in time with the heroine's.
I absolutely loved Shanna and Jace. I felt they were fully fleshed out characters with motivations, wants, and personality. Shanna wasn't weak and she wasn't "The load." Jace might be an alpha male, but he knew when to listen to Shanna and he knew when he'd gone to far. Even offering apologies with no expectation of being forgiven. That was definitely a turn on. I also liked the side characters. Emily, Shanna's daughter, felt like a real kid and her co-workers also had their own personalities and motivations. I really loved Dirk; I wanted to give the guy a hug.
There was definitely the right amount of suspense and surprises. I called one "twist" early on (the foreshadowing was there). But I was surprised by a few other things that happened in the book, but looking back I see the breadcrumbs were there all along. Which is a good thing.
In all, I really enjoyed this book. I'd definitely recommend it to people into a short, but intense read.
Five stars
***I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley
I so couldn't put this book down. Awesome plot + superb romance = Great story. Loved it
When the simple hunting trip with her boss (that could get her the promotion she yearns for) turns out to be a life and death matter, Shann, an accountant, for a mining company starts to ask questions.
The fact that she is on the run accompanied by Jace, an ex-cop, doesn't make it easier to get closer to the truth. He's handsome and she's attracted to him but they've got to get to the bottom of things first!
This made for an interesting read and it was not as full of suspense as I'd hoped. I received an arc from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Manhunt by Ann Voss Peterson is the first book in her Rocky Mountain Thriller series and if they are all as good as this one I'll have to add more gift cards to my book budget. I haven't read this author before and it won't be the last one.
Shanna and her daughter are starting over after her ex-husbands betrayal in Palmer, Wyoming. When she quickly rises up the ranks at her job. When her boss invites her along on a hunting trip she doesn't think he'll be trying to kill her what what she knows but doesn't remember. When she escapes and meets Jace Lantry they are so on the run from not only her boss but the sheriff also.
Jace Lantry is also starting over after being betrayed by his own partner on his last case as a cop. He paid for it with jail time so when Shanna shows up with a bizarre story he hesitates to help. When he agrees to take her to her office Jace doesn't expect to also be running with both of their lives in danger. I loved how he always seemed to find a way to get them what they needed to survive and how when Shanna's daughter gives him her treasured Red Power Ranger he takes it knowing that not only does Emily trust him but Shanna as well. There are plot twists with every page turn and a surprise ending that will have you saying I didn't see that coming. All in all a wonderful book and now I need to get the other two books so I can finish the series.
I really enjoyed this book it was a lot better then I ever expected thank you for the chance to read
