Description

"Reflect, Renew, Refresh, The 3 R's for an Inspired Life," is an inspirational and motivational journal with weekly photos, quotes and affirmations.  I encourage the reader to reflect on the weekly message and image, then to write down how they intend to use the message in their life for that week; thereby being renewed and refreshed. I have found that if we take the time to Reflect on positive influences and meaningful occurrences, we can Renew our spirit and Refresh our soul. It is so important to maintain balance, peace, joy and love as we go about our days. Sometimes though, it is not easy.

By using "Reflect, Renew, Refresh" as your guide, especially when you are feeling overwhelmed, challenged in your personal or professional life, have a tendency towards negative thinking, or just need to reset your balance, you are committing to positively nourish your mind, body and spirit.

Open “Reflect, Renew, Refresh" to the week and be inspired by the quote, affirmation and photo. Immerse yourself in the beauty of each page and find comfort in the words. Feel your mind and body being healed and nourished.

Then on the accompanying page, write down your interpretation of the quote and affirmation. Set your intention for the week on how you will move forward incorporating the inspiration.

Take the time to "Reflect, Renew, Refresh" giving yourself your weekly dose of inspiration, positivity, and encouragement to help you move forward.

AUTHOR BIO –

"Reflect, Renew,  Refresh, The 3 R's for an Inspired Life," was created to inspire, uplift and give hope to those going through challenging times. Whether it is an illness, a financial hardship, relationship issues, depression, unhappiness in your personal or professional life or any problem that needs solving, "Reflect, Renew, Refresh" can help. During my cancer recovery 13 years ago, I so looked forward to my daily notes from my husband to keep me in a positive frame of mind so that I could completely heal. For "Reflect, Renew, Refresh", I have married 52 of those quotes with photographs of our many world travels together. In addition, I wanted to have a space available for the reader to interpret and write down their intention for the week based on the writings and photography. So with each week, there is a journaling section for you to use. I have always believed in the power of positive motivation, inspiration and nourishment of one's self. It is only then, that we can assist others. I am grateful for this opportunity to assist you in your quest for happiness, peace, love, harmony and healing. I currently live in Monarch Beach, CA with my loving husband of 33 years. I am so appreciative of his support, guidance and love through the years. We give thanks to be able to "Reflect, Renew, Refresh” by enjoying daily runs and hikes along the beach, watching the waves, being in nature and being together.

"Reflect, Renew, Refresh“ is my 2nd book along with "Take a Moment: Inspirational Darts to the Heart “ which was published in 2016. My intention is to bring light, love and healing to others through my words, photos and affirmations.

I recieved a free digital copy of this book from Netgalley for an honest review.

I loved this book and will definitely pick up a paper copy the next time I get to the bookstore. It's part inspirational, part journal.

The pictures are gorgeous. The inspirational messages accompanied with them are thought provoking and now all i want to do is journal. 😂

My favorite phrase:
Act as if it were impossible to fail.

I liked the idea of a journal that doesn’t feel like work, because there aren’t dated pages. I am not one of those people who journaling everyday comes naturally to. The idea of filling in my own thoughts for the week (any week) about reading and applying a certain quote was certainly one I could keep up with.

The photos are lovely, and the quotes are from a diverse group of people who I’m sure most of us have heard of. There are quotes from: Oprah Winfrey, Ram Dass, The Buddha, Harriet Beecher Stowe, John Milton, Kahlil Gibran, Danny Kaye, Thich Nhat Hanh, Confucius, Mary Kay Ash, and others.

The only thing I’m confused about is the Renew and Refresh; one of those is meant for how the quote might have enhanced our week, but what to do with the other one?

Overall, I love this, and since it isn’t dated, you can start at anytime. This doesn’t have to be one of those things you put off until January first.

This is a beautifully arranged journal for reflection. I love the quotes, and I enjoyed the author's additional thoughts on each one, too. They really assist in the reflection process. The pictures were well-done also. My only minor piece of feedback is that the 3Rs need to be explained better. I saw an explanation for reflect but not for renew and refresh, and I don't know how the responses for each would differ. If this was my journal, I would want to complete it the "correct" way under each heading. Overall, a wonderful journal full of self-reflection, which is always a good thing to have.

Thank you to Karen Marie Newman, First Edition Design Publishing, and Netgalley, for the opportunity to review this journal.

This book is arranged so there is a quote and then you contemplate it and then reflect, refresh, and renew in a journaling format.
I thought it was too vague in relation to the 3 R's. Refresh and Renew seem almost the same. The quotes were nice though.

I want to thank the Publisher, First Edition Design Publishing and #Netgalley for providing me with an advanced e-copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book is a 52 week journal which contains beautiful photos, quotes and affirmations. The quotes are to give you a weekly dose of inspiration and encouragement, to help you deal with whatever is going on in your life at this time.
After each quote, the author, Ms. Lewman adds her own inspirational message to guide you towards, reflecting on the quote of the week. She guides the reader with questions to help with the reflection. Each week has a journal page on which the reader can reflect, renew and refresh.
Other reviewers, have voice the opinion that Ms. Lewman has not provided the instructions on how to renew and refresh. and I agree. However, I think that, this book is not meant to be a step by step how to book, but rather a guided journal to steer your mind away from negative thoughts toward more positive thinking . She has a different approach to get you there.

The photographs are setting the stage to take you away to a beautiful and peaceful place. The quotes are meant to inspire you as you read them. Her inspirational message leads you to ask yourselves some questions, you are reflecting. As you are taking stock of your life and your situation and realize that you have gratitude and hope that is the renew and as you have steer your mind toward a more positive disposition you are refreshed. That is the way, I have interpreted the process.

As the author, says that she has gone through difficult times as well and that during that time, her husband provided her with daily quotes that became very essential part of her healing process.
She shared 52 of these quotes in this book and hopes to help others.

Great book written from the heart!

Some nice prompts for gratitude and self-improvement. Stunning photographs too.

This was a series of quotes, followed by a paragraph of interpretation by the author, followed by a page to reflect, renew and refresh. Not much room for journaling and absolutely no idea what is meant by renew or refresh. Would work better as a just quotes or affirmations. This format is odd and I wouldn't use it as presented.

This book is great for one to take time out and meditate and journal. The photos are beautiful and the quotes are inspiring. 'since I'm reading this as an e book i just decided it would be a good idea to get a composition book and write what i need to in that. Not a self help book per se, but a book to help you take time out for yourself and just think and meditate. Enjoyed it.

I love the author's approach of giving the reader a beautiful photo accompanied by an inspirational quote and some further elaboration. This combined with journaling space and a 52 week format really encourages introspection and self-growth. I do feel purchasing a hard copy is far preferable to an e-copy. A hard copy displays the photos more effectively and promotes the all-in-one journal format. That being said, I enjoyed my e-copy.
My thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I perused an ecopy of this journal to review. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for granting access to an arc of this book for an honest review.

The author’s photos in the book are lovely. They help you reflect and refresh. I liked that this undated journal could be used in any order, starting anywhere.

The author gives quotes by Oprah, Confucius, The Buddha, Darwin, Marvin Gaye (of “I heard it through the Grapevine fame), the founder of Weight Watchers, and people I’ve never heard of. I’m not sure of what the ‘quoteds’ have in common or some of their qualifications.

The author's writing is very cliched: “Run your own race and at your own speed...Think good thoughts and do good deeds...you can change your world!!...commit to daily positive, nourishing, and affirmative thinking to empower and uplift your being.” And it has way too many!!!!!!! The journal uses what I call “non-believing California-ese,” speaking of alignment, harmony, purifying, Universe, and radiance. Often!!! No references to God or serving others. It’s pretty much about me, me, me. I believe part of Renewing and Refreshing is about relationships with others and God.

Save your money. If you want to journal, I’d recommend buying a blank book and looking online for the MANY ideas of what to write about. The 3 R's for an Inspired Life: Reflect, Renew, Refresh is too trite for me. “I love to explore. If everyone goes left, I go right! I love finding what’s new, fresh and uncharted territory. I listen to myself, most of the time, and that has truly made all the difference.” Yikes. I know 7th graders who write deeper than that.
