Description
NEWTRITION - The Micro-Nutrient Revolution, reveals the 6,000 (phyto or plant) nutrients which have been increasing found to most benefit our health and which are readily available in our every day foods, if you know which, and which Dr Hayes lists. This expands and updates the Mediterranean Diet, evidenced to provide more profound health benefits than any other diet, and because of these newly discovered phytonutrient benefits, Dr Hayes has called It the PHYTO DIE.
Over 34 major health benefits have been evidenced and includeing slowing aging, reducing cardiovascular disease (our greatest killer), less cancer(our second greatest killer), improving all-cause mortality, reducing age blindness, Dementia/Alzheimer's, Depression, Diabetes and many more!
No other diet has been evidenced to provide so many health benefits.
The world's longest, largest and best medical trials are documented to provide the supporting evidence.
Dr Mileham Hayes, a Specialist Physician, was appointed to the world's first Coronary Care Unit and then to top international Hospitals. He has spent over 50 years with international experience researching and practising Preventive Medicine.
He is a published author of acclaimed medical textbooks but regarded this LIVE LONGEST information as "too important to restrict just to Doctors" and so has written the series for the general readers who want to optimize their health and maximise their lifespan.
At 77 years of age and working at medicine and surgery up to 10 hours a day and enjoying life to the full, it would seem he has proven his point.

In his book Dr. Hayes puts emphasis on following a Mediterranean diet with nutritious food and keeping an eye on the overall calorie intake for health and longevity. Supplementation with vitamins is not recommended. The diet is pretty simple and contains a lot of common sense. If you want to transition from a poor diet to a healthier one, you can follow Dr. Hayes advice. Although the diet is generally healthy, in my opinion some of Dr. Hayes views are outdated, for example the notion that eggs are unhealthy, we should stay away from butter, or we will gain weight if we follow a high fat, low carb diet. Overall, it was worth for me to read this book as I am trying to get as many views about nutrition as I can.
Based on best and lengthy research this book will help you to eat for your life.
I found this book exciting to read even though I had some knowledge of good foods, recipes etc. It really helped reinforce my existing awareness and gave me more to consider. Packed with information and sources for supporting research this book is perfect for ordinary people starting a healthy lifestyle as well as the more experienced individual.
The appreciation of my body has grown as I age and my aim is to keep it ‘running’ for as long as possible. In support of this, I took up a gymnastic type exercise relatively late in life and started, a maintenance plan to obtain the best from my body. I believe this book will be useful in supporting that focus.
A few of my favourite quotes:
A wise man should consider that health is the greatest of human blessings.
Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food
Variety is, not only the spice of life, but the key to life itself
