Marketing Plan

2018 promises to be a banner year for women. With its theme of girl empowerment, Lily Pond is poised to ride those coattails. Due to the timeliness of the story, appealing illustration style and spirit of fun, Kelly Asbury, the director of Shrek 2 and Gnomeo & Juliet, will be pitching LILY POND to Netflix and other cartoon networks as a CG children’s series early in 2018.

The media will find Lily Pond’s backstory and creation uniquely compelling as well, from the “Claytown” of Shelley Daniels Lekven’s childhood to her work on famous animated movies. In addition to a robust PR campaign pitching the book to national TV and print media, social media platforms and online reviewers, there will also be regional book tours and signings, talks at schools and art colleges in Southern California, and exposure at conventions (Comic-Con and CTNX). Working with an initial advertising budget of $10,000, the targeted markets include:

• Bookstore Chains

• Independent Bookstores

• Public Libraries

• School Libraries

• Art Supply Stores

• Gift Shops (Hospitals, Zoos, Museums)

• Box Stores

Rhyming couplets tell the story of Lily Pond, who is not a place but rather a frog. She likes to think about the future—jobs, marriage, kids, travel—on the eve of her eighth birthday.
The highlight of the text is an interesting manufactured rhyme for “twice.”
From the cover it’s easy to see how the artwork is going to be, and it’s fun. The clay models look strikingly 3-D even on paper or pixel. This book is worth it just for that.

This book of claytoons (clay art) is exceptionally fun, vibrant and alive, teaching kids how to use their imaginations, in trying to see themselves into someone wonderful or great when they grow up. Its an educative, fun, quirky and immensely entertaining, the claytown was a work of an imaginative genius, the colors are awesome and the characters are way cool and quirky, nicely done, I like the effect and the lesson it teaches, I believe every child should be able to start using their imagination at an early age, thumbs up for a job well done.

This is a highly imaginative book that young kids will love. Lily, a young frog, uses her imagination to try and decide what she will be when she grows up. The frogs are a hoot, they are fun and doing all sorts of silly things. The illustrations are claytoons that are colourful, vibrant and three dimensional which look alive. It is never too early for kids to think about what they will do when they are older. This is a fun book that could also be used in an art lesson for working with clay or plastiscene. A wonderful book for an elementary school or family library. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via Netgalley.

This is a story of Lily and her dreams of the future. The story is simple, but the pictures are amazing. Lily and her dreams are brought to life in full claymation. It unique, and quite lovely.

The scenes in this book were sculpted from modeling clay, which makes this a unique children's book that captures a child's imagination of what their future holds. This is a really cute book for children around age 5 or 6.

This book is ADORABLE. The Claymation style illustrations are a treat, and the story itself is fun. Lily Pond is laying in bed and wondering what she'll be when she grows up, imagining all the options. The story is told in a rhyming pattern that feels like one of the best Dr. Seuss books, and it's the perfect length for a bedtime story. Definitely a great addition to any child's bookshelf.

This book has to be seen to be believed, although you can look at some illustrations on the author's book website: http://lilypondbook.com. Make sure you type only a total of two Ls in Lily! Otherwise the entire Internet will break down, weeping and not knowing where to go or what to do!

I don't know how someone can find the patience to do something like this, with this level of inventiveness, let along find the time - and the skill in the first place - but she did it, and it's awesome to behold. This is why she's known for her art work on movies like Toy Story, James and the Giant Peach, and The Nightmare Before Christmas (she's on IMDB!).

The story is of the cutely-named Lily Pond (no relation to Amy Pond as far as I know), on the cusp of her eight birthday, imagining with great imagination all the things she can do or be, and the adventures she will have as she matures. She has a bunch of choices as does any young girl who wants to follow her own dream and is willing to go after it fiercely enough. This story is inspirational, informative, and beautifully illustrated with the photographs of the painstaking clay sculptures the author created. Amazing! I recommend this highly.

This is the most unique book I have ever read and the illustrations/sculptures were amazingly fun! The story-line involves a young girl frog pondering what the future might hold for her. The images are incredible and make me excited to incorporate a "claytown" of our own in our household soon!

This is a charming little story about a frog who is enthusiastically thinking of all the things she could be in the future. She dresses up and she's very cute in her costumes.

Claytown Press and Net Galley let me read this book for review. It will be published January 1, 2018.

The frogs are made from colored modelling clay and are very realistic. With great graphics and the enthusiasm of the little frog featured, it's fun book to read.
