Description
50 Ways to Feel Happy is a cheerful, fun, inspiring, and varied collection of projects for creative and thinking individuals. The book includes a mixture of step-by-step projects and shorter activity ideas that encompass happiness-inspiring crafts, mindfulness, relaxation, and positivity techniques, and fun ways to get active and boost happiness outdoors.
Children can either read through the book from start to finish or dip in and out as the mood takes them. What's more, these activities are great to repeat time and again as a child builds their happiness skills and incorporates techniques into their daily life. For younger children, parents and caregivers may wish to work through the book with them, offering guidance and support, whereas more confident readers, tweens, and young teens will be able to enjoy engaging with the book independently.
Each of the 50 activities relates to one of Action for Happiness’s 10 key evidence-based ways to increase happiness and well-being:
- Giving – doing things for others (create and give out compliment cards and more)
- Relating – connecting with people (interview a friend and more)
- Exercising – taking care of your body (complete a circuit of 100 movements and more)
- Awareness – living life mindfully (take a mindful walk and more)
- Trying out – keep learning new things (create a curiosity collage and more)
- Direction – have goals to look forward to (write a recipe for one of your dreams and more)
- Resilience – find ways to bounce back (draw a comic strip about a resilient person and more)
- Emotions – look for what’s good (make a positivity pack of things that give you a boost and more)
- Acceptance – be comfortable with who you are (make a super-self portrait and more)
- Meaning – be part of something bigger (make a paper chain that connects things that mean a lot to you and more)

I am not really sure I think this is a happiness book so much as a book to promote kindness in young children. I like the ideas and the instructions but I think it would be better marketed toward parents, caregivers, and educators than children themselves.
After 15 years lecturing in mental health recovery I know a few things about this topic, and have written lots of courses around it's themes. This is a great collection of ideas and suggestions for practical living, I loved the illustrations and tone of the book and hope it goes on to help lots of people with big and small things they would like to change to improve their happiness x
This is a wonderful book for children. It helps them learn what makes them happy. It has small facts tacked throughout. Plus exercises such as carrying bags, write a note to someone, volunteer, and give back to others and the community. A lovely book to help keep and find happiness.
We all can have struggles to be happy throughout times of our lives and this book is a small eye opener for us all in how to take steps to feel better.
Whether it's starting up a hobby like a form of exercise or crafting a card for someone or simply helping out your parents or friend, scientifically proven activities fill this guide for us to take inspiration from.
A creative guide that was a quick enjoyable read and surprisingly inspiring too.

4 stars.
I was surprised by this. It was a really fun book! Aimed at kids but also still enjoyable for teenagers, this fun crafty activity book is full of ways to help you be happy and it's also about kindness. It's been well done and I would definitely give it to others to take a peak at.
Excellently organized and entertaining. A real winner for the publisher and the reader.
This is a dynamic guide to happiness that will strengthen you home, classroom and work work. While this is geared towards children, it is a colorful invitation and reminder for all of us.
Inspiring and insightful, this lovely little book has a wealth of ideas on offer to improve the mental health of children..

This wonderfully designed book is a self-help starter guide for kids and I loved it! The organization of information and challenges was done in a unique way that both children and adults can enjoy. I'm beyond happy this exists for a much younger generation and think it's a great tool for parents to utilize too.
This is exactly the kind of book that does well in the shop - the tone and nature iwill resonate with many of our customers. It is easy to digest, accessible, and straightforward, making happiness feel achievable!

50 Ways to Feel Happy by Vanessa King, Val Payne, Peter Harper is a nice book for kids/teens to do things as reminders to be kind and active citizens.
This book can be an avenue for exploring & building the positives in your life. I could see students choosing ideas to implement individually or with small groups of friends or classmates. The activities are well presented and examples are easy to understand. I plan on adding it, as a resource, to a wellness unit our students do.
Great book with suggestions for everyone (not just kids) to make life a littler happier every day and instill gratitude and kindness. Lots of great activities, many of them simple and only using things found at home. Teachers and parents can definitely find lessons and activities in here too. A great gift for 8-12 year old.
Thank you Netgalley and Quarto-QED for a copy of this book in exchange for a review.
I got attracted by the cover at first sight, and was later attracted by the graphics and page design as well --- almost every kid loves fun and colorful books. I love the ideas, and most activities are pretty creative and practical. Definitely a good way to teach kids about finding happiness :)
