Description
Shows up in real life?
First Lieutenant Thane Carter has experienced great success as the senior platoon leader of a military police company at Fort Hood. But tbh, his love life stinks. Thane wishes his maddening—and off-limits—new coworker, Lieutenant Chloe Michaels, could be more like his online friend “BallerinaBaby.” It’s complicated, all right—especially when Thane learns that his workplace nemesis and his internet crush are one and the same!

The Lieutenants' Online Love is You've Got Mail in a military setting.
There was enough background information about the Army and Military Police in particular that I didn't feel lost, but not so much that it bogged down the plot.
The banter between Thane and Chloe is fun, but they struggle to get along after a misunderstanding. Especially because they don't realize that they have also become good friends via an app.
I really liked the dual narration from Thane and Chloe. I think getting to see the story from both their perspectives made it more fun to read. Especially as their online personas grow closer.
I would recommend this book, and I look forward to trying more by the author!

Loved this book! This is a delightful romance with a twist. Chloe and Thane have been corresponding via an app that hid their identities - which they both found freeing because it allowed them to be themselves in a way they couldn't in real life. They are both military police lieutenants assigned to the same location, but don't know that about each other. Chloe feels like a girl with her online friend, instead of the tough West Point grad and MP that she presents to the world, so she cherishes that relationship.
I loved the way the characters interacted online and how it contrasted with their real life interactions. I found myself invested in the characters and wishing for them to have a HEA. Additionally, the author brought a sense of realism to the characters and setting that most books fall short on. The actual rules governing military officers were woven into the story and actually helped to drive the plot. I must confess that, while I knew the most superficial rules that officers couldn't fraternize with enlisted, I had no idea just how stringent some of the other rules were.
I enjoyed every page of this novel and was sorry when it ended. This is the first book I've read by this author, but it won't be the last. I've added her to my must read authors' list.
The Lieutenants’ Online Love presents an interesting dilemma for Chloe and Thane – what happens when the co-worker you cannot seem to get along with ends up being the very same person who is a totally different person in the online relationship you wish could turn into a real life forever love? Add to that problem both are military police with very rigid rules about dating – then you’ve got an interesting story and an enemies to lovers who already are falling in love online… yeah, it’s complicated.
I enjoyed Chloe and Thane’s romance. It’s got witty banter, the ability to show your true self while holding back some things that will make life and career incredibly complicated. Watching this couple work through their online love and real life careers made for an interesting, at times, laugh out loud enjoyable experience. I rarely make comments about the story I’m given to read whether I’ve purchased it or receive it through NetGalley it’s the author’s story to tell, not mine. I will simply say that there were times when the military slang and terminologies were not common to me and because of that I feel I might not have given the true importance to some parts of this story that they deserved. That’s not a mean-spirited criticism, but a wishful observation.
The Lieutenant’s Online Love releases in Mass Market Paperback (on Amazon) on April 17, 2018 – (again on Amazon) it is part of the Harlequin Special Edition Box Set for Kindle readers on May 1, 2018. So just because it’s not available for your e-reader today, look for it in a couple weeks.
I would recommend this story to any Contemporary Romance or Military Romance reader who enjoys lively banter, hidden identity, enemies to lovers romance and a very good love story.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
While Chloe has finished West Point, MP school, and travels to her new post, her friendship with an on line friend has kept her going. Since Chloe knows nothing about him, she feels open to discuss everything. Chloe doesn't realize that soon he might be part of her life. I received a free copy of this book from the publisher through Net Gallery. This was a fun read that I enjoyed very much. I enjoyed getting a glimpse of a MP's life. The relationship between Chloe and Thane had its ups and downs. This was a sweet clean romance. I recommend this light read.
Thane Carter has been in an anonymous online relationship for months with Ballerina Baby. Little does he know that the new Lieutenant assigned to his MP unit is none other than Baby! This realization brings about huge problems that stop any thoughts of a closer relationship between the two. This story made me think about a military version of the popular movie, You’re Got Mail! The author does give an insight into the life of an MP, officers and military dating rules. Nice story with a predictable ending.

The Lieutenants’ Online Love was a fun read. I enjoyed both Thane and Chloe and was rooting for them to be able to be together throughout the whole story. I couldn’t but the story down until I finished it because the author kept me in suspense. I wondered how they would solve not only their personal differences but the professional aspect as well. This story involved a hero & heroine who are both active duty in the Army, but the author was careful to explain the military lingo to the reader.
This story was different from her cowboy & Texas rescue stories but no less enjoyable.
I received a copy from NetGalley for an honest review.
This is a military story and its HEAVY military. You must like learning about the army to like this story. At times I stopped paying attention because it was way too army for me. It is also a very tame story. Chloe and Than never get together until the last few pages of the story. Their romance is forbidden and VERY forbidden I mean court martial forbidden so they never cross the lines.
I did not love it but it was interesting and I enjoyed the writing and characters.
What a great romance. I loved the plot, characters and setting. The author is new to me and I anticipate reading more of her books. If you enjoy a good romance I recommend this book.
First Lieutenant Thane Carter is in a serious online relationship with someone that he only knows as Ballerina Bun. She knows him as Drummer. They have cultivated a wonderful six-month relationship where their feelings are shooting past the friend zone. When they both encourage each other to make a real-life friend, Thane spots Chloe Michaels at a pool party and meets the woman of his dreams.
A most unfortunate thing happens. In short order, Thane realizes that she is his new co-worker, where there is a no fraternization policy amongst officers. Without any explanation, he shatters any illusion that they could develop anything beyond their all-too-brief encounter at the pool party. Before long, Thane realizes that Chloe is his “Ballerina Bun”, but he feels that he’s been bamboozled.
This is a quick, light read with a sad twinge as I couldn’t help but root for this couple to find a way to be together. I'm glad to say that this romance did not disappoint.
If you are craving a clean romantic book that lets you believe that love is more about romance, friendship and respect than this book is for you. I loved that the female was not only independent but a strong woman looking for a relationship, she was very realistic. The male character was strong and even though he made some big mistakes his heart was in the right place, he wanted to respect and treat her kindly.
As an heavy romance reader I found this book to be a breathe of fresh air. I need a book without a lot of sex and more relationship.
