This is Molly E. Lee's 3rd book in the Grad Night series of standalone titles and this is by far my favorite! I really enjoyed the other two novels but this one just was a delight to read and I couldn't put it down. Jade and Lennon meet as freshman but up and coming rockstar Lennon is warned by his math teacher father to leave Jade alone, no matter how interesting she seems. Jade, a brilliant math student and secret graphic novel designer, is mesmerized by Lennon at their first meeting as well but it isn't until their graduation night when things start to fall into place for these two. Over the course of high school they have spent time together and become friends while pushing their feelings for each other aside. On the night of Lennon's party (and a huge night in his career), Jade and Lennon find themselves in situations that show them that maybe holding back on those feelings just isn't worth it anymore. I loved the banter between these two teenagers who are about to go on and face the world. The relationships between their parents and the struggles of two young adults deciding what to do next also was a part of this story. The best parts were the interactions between Jade and Lennon as they realized their true feelings and faced them! I also loved the revisiting of characters from the other two Grad Night books. Well done by Lee and I am thrilled I got to read an arc! Thank you netgalley for this copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Jade Aaron is a mathlete, a nerd, the type of girl Lennon Pryor would never in a million years be interested in - or so she thinks. With gradation coming up she can't wait to get to UCLA and be able to pursue the art degree her mother thinks is a waste of time. She should be pursuing a more logical degree in mathematics. But just once Jade wants to live a little. Starting with attending Lennon Pryor's graduation bash.

Lennon Pryor has his eye on the prize, he's thisclose to signing a record deal for his band with a label that will extend their three-month tour opening for the BlackHats and get them an album. He doesn't have time to start a relationship he'll just end up abandoning. But he can't stop thinking about Jade Aaron, the girl he's wanted to be with since the first time he saw her freshman year.

It's graduation night, and it will be a wild, life changing ride.

I really loved this book. When I requested it I didn't realize it was the third book in (what I believe is) a trilogy but this book can be read as a standalone. I love any book where the male main character is a rock star and this book shows Lennon on the brink of stardom and not wanting to miss out on the girl he's always wanted.

I loved that Jade was an artist who was working on a graphic novel, it made her such a cool character. Jade's mother, on the other hand, was so out of line in the beginning trying to discourage Jade's passion. I hate parent characters like that but it seems to be a popular trope.

This book is a fun, fast read. I devoured it in an afternoon on a snow day and the time flew by.

Overall, this book is perfect for anyone looking for a quick, cute read about getting a chance with someone you never thought would be interested in you.

Please note: I received a copy of LOVE BEYOND OPPOSITES via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the publisher and author.

LOVE BEYOND OPPOSITES gets 5 stars and here is why:

LOVE BEYOND OPPOSITES is a best friends to lovers story and I’m a sucker for unrequited love. Somehow, the NetGalley fairy sprinkled some lucky magic dust all over me and I got to read all three books in Molly E. Lee’s graduation night series. And boy, does Ms. Lee deliver!

I work with teens and this author nails it. She’s captured the quintessential sass and snark of every teenager I’ve had the joy of working with in high school. So much fun! ☺ The main and supporting characters are relatable, like THE BREAKFAST CLUB – you know in a high school setting, there’s going to be the popular girl, the jock, the brainiac, the nerdy-but-doesn’t-know-she’s-beautiful girl, the hot guy rock star, etc.

But what I hadn’t prepared myself for was the total book hangover I’d get from reading each one of these books! I equally enjoyed LOVE IN THE FRIEND ZONE and LOVE BETWEEN ENEMIES as well as her last book, LOVE BEYOND OPPOSITES. You don’t have to read one before the other to enjoy the story, but it’d be a lot of fun and enjoyment if you did. Ms. Lee does a great job of weaving these characters and their plot set-ups through all three books. Because the story takes place over a day or two, the pacing is fast, the conflict major, and the characters jump off the pages in spades.

What I loved about this story is that Jade is a strong heroine. She’s going places and has a plan even if her parents don’t agree with her idea to pursue a graphic art degree over a safe math career. She’s been in forever love with her good friend, Lennon, the quintessential rock star. Lennon is a player because he’s going places. He doesn’t want to settle down and be stuck in a relationship when his first love is music. Or is it? Everyone in the story sees what Lennon and Jade can’t see, that they belong together despite what their futures might hold, and the story takes place in a twenty-four hour period at a party after everyone graduates high school when they have to shed their safety net for their unknown future.

If you love hella-hot guys, sassy girls, and a high school graduation night of epic proportions, then this book is for you. Be prepared to read it in one sitting. Highly recommend!

Molly E Lee,
Book #3 Grad Night Series,

I first came across Molly E Lee (Author) when I picked up Love In The Friend Zone, Book #1, which is Braylen and Fynn, then on to Book #2, Love Between Enemies, which is Gordon and Zoey, from the Grad Night Series.
It follows these couples from Graduation and the events that happen at the Graduation Party. Which happens to be at Lennon's Mother's lake house.

They can be read as standalones.

This is Lennon and Jade's story.

Mathlete and the Rock Star.

Jade's a mathlete, inherently good.

Lennon's the rock star who could just break her heart.

Lennon's Dad is Jade's mathlete coach and warns Lennon off Jade as she's smart and not wanting Lennon to break her heart.
So Lennon and Jade have these 'nothing' conversations three times a week while she's at his Dad's for coaching for four years. They know that there's more to each other than meets the eye.

Jade's passion is her drawing her own graphic novel. She loves drawing, but her Mother doesn't see this, she sees it as getting in the way of her studies and wants Jade to use her brilliant mind to go into the same research field as her. But Jade has other plans in what she wants to do at college.

Lennon is the rock star who's signed up to tour with his band after graduation and be a headliner for a named band.
But his parents want him to go to college.

As they spend more time together they find out more about each other in one night, than they have in the passing conversations over the past four years.

Can they discover that they've both got feelings for each other, before it's too late?

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you to Entangled Publishing LLC and NetGalley for letting me review this.
