Description
Sidelined from his rodeo career by an injury, billionaire Texas rancher
Hunter Knight returns to home to find the staff overworked and the
office a mess. He hates paperwork, so he's pleased to hear his sister
has hired an office manager. But when he finds out it's Jessica
Sinclair, his sister's party-girl best friend from college, he's not
happy and wants her fired. Even worse than her partying past, he's
attracted to her. Burned once by his gold-digging, city woman of an
ex-wife, he has no interest in playing with fire.
Dogged by a
past that won’t let her go, Jessica arrives at the ranch with a plan:
excel as an office manager, stay away from the bulls, and no cowboys.
Her father died when thrown from a bull when she was a kid, so avoiding
them is key. Cowboys, well, they're just as dangerous as the bulls. Then
there's Hunter Knight, part owner of the Double K ranch. This stubborn
cowboy can ruin everything by sending her away before she can earn a
single penny. Buying time with a proposal solves one problem but leads
her straight into riskier territory, fighting an attraction to the
bull-riding billionaire boss.
Can this city girl and cowboy survive the wildest ride of their lives?

Where can I find me a cowboy? Loved this story. Started reading it today and finished it today, kept me enthralled the entire book. Marie Tuhart did a fabulous job telling this story. Hunter and Jess were two great characters. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a happy ending.
Read this book in one sitting! It grabbed my interest right from page one and didn’t let go until the end. A sexy, confident cowboy meets a down-on-her luck city girl. Both carry baggage from past relationships and leary of getting involved but there’s an strong attraction that’s too hard to resist. I read mostly steamy romances yet surprisingly I really enjoyed this sweet, clean read. Wonderful storyline and different take on the life of a rodeo cowboy.
I received an arc from Netgalley. I enjoyed this book and the main characters were relatable. Hunter and Jessica work through trust issues and Hunter learns a lesson in not jumping to conclusions.
Both characters had chemistry right from the start and I do love a story with the strong man meeting his equal in his strong woman.
This was a super fun story about Hunter who owns a ranch and who needs an office manager. His sister hires her bestie Jessie to help out and the two fall into major lust. There are lots of sex scenes n=but also a lot of romance. The main issues in the story are that Hunter is divorced from a city girl and he sees Jessie as a city girl too. BUT Jessie grew up the the city after her father was killed bull riding. And Hunter is a Bull Rider. So as you can guess, the road to romance is a tough one for them both.
But I loved the story, characters and writing. I have never read this author before but I am a new fan.
This clean western romance is an enjoyable read. I liked Hunter and Jessica's chemistry. Sparks fly as the witty banter flies between these two. This opposites attract romance is a fun book.
This read was a very fun, steamy ride. The book is set on a working ranch in Texas. Great description of both scenery and activities necessary to maintain normal ranching life. The romance between the ranch owner and the new office manager was hot and really well developed. This is a novella and the plot is very fast paced but the author does a great job of both moving the story forward and keeping it realistic by providing details and careful attention. Perfect for a beach read it vacation, it receives high marks for both sizzling action and character develooment.

ARC received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Marie Tuhart is a new writer I’ve recently discovered loved this book .....
Hunter is a Billionaire rancher but makes his living as well on the National Bull Riding circuit. He is spending some time at the ranch recovering from an injury ..,
Jess (aka city girl ) comes on the scene - she’s a good friend of Hunter’s sister Susan - desperate for a job & is hired on a trial basis as office manager at the ranch.
Sparks fly immediately but Jess doesn’t want to get involved with a cowboy -let alone get her heat broken by one. Hunter has sworn off marriage having been married briefly to someone only after his money. Jess has her own set of secrets but immediately finds herself falling in ❤️ with Hunter...
Great book
Great setting
Great characters
Great HEA
I’ll need to check out some additional books by this author. Read in one sitting it was so good 👍👍
I received a copy from NetGalley; this is my honest review. #BillionaireCowboy'sConquest #NetGalley
-Great cowboy story with factual details about ranching and bull riding. Fun, fast read.
-Most of the story turns around Hunter and Jessica with some tidbits about Chris (ranch manager) and Susan (Hunter's sister), Jessica's problems and also her grief, Hunter's mistrust.
-Insta-lust from Hunter; Insta-caution from Jessica. Who are they kidding?
-I thought Hunter was a bit abusive of Jessica in the sense that she was saying "no" and he kept pushing, not respecting her wish, even though she wanted her "no" to be a "yes" but that was her problem.
-The other thing that bothered me was the famous "can't talk about it, it's personal"; this was getting old. When you want to be in a relationship, you're suppose to share the good/bad equally.
Really enjoyed this book. It kept me hooked until the end. Read in one sitting. Received today 6/2/18 finish today 6/2/18. Thanks for letting me enjoy your book!
Hunter and Jessica's story. Overall, a fun and quick read, and has a lot of potential of being a great read. A little quick though, since it is a novella, so a lot of the basics was skipped due to length. To resolve the issues they each had should have taken much more time and effort, but otherwise a good read. Nice and quick for an easy summer read. Would recommend.
4.5 Stars
I thoroughly enjoyed Billionaire Cowboy's Conquest, this is the first book I have read by this author and I can’t wait to read more. Jessica and Hunter are great characters and the storyline engaging. I will be recommending this book and looking to read more by this author.
The tension is spring-loaded in this sexy ranch romance!
Jessica desperately needs a job, so when her college bestie needs a new office manager for her family ranch, Jessica jumps at the chance, even if it means staying far away from the temptation named Hunter.
Hunter remembers his sister’s college friend as a party girl, and he has no use for city girls who don’t know which end of a horse is which. But there’s something he just can’t resist about Jess, despite her continued insistence that they cannot have a personal relationship.
Jess’s past still haunts her, still drives her to work hard to overcome the damage left in her ex-fiance’s wake. She really struggles here to keep her distance from Hunter, and her determination to be a success at her job was admirable.
Hunter’s emotional evolution from physical attraction to truly caring for Jess was nicely done, and his reasons for not trusting easily were honest and relatable.
I loved this story (and the potential romance between the secondary characters was a nice addition) but I do think the ending timeline was drawn out just a bit. All in all, it was a fun journey to their HEA and I was happy to see the villain meet his justice. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Billionaire Cowboy's Conquest is my first book read by Marie Tuhart, and boy did I get more than I bargained for! This story has an easy flowing and captivating storyline, with strong and engaging character portrayals. Jessica and Hunter have fabulous chemistry and the overall plot and world building are well-developed. I would definitely recommend this book, and I’m looking forward to reading more from Ms Tuhart in the future.
This was a sexy read, the story flowed well but very slowly... I fill like it was just enough to hold my attention. But in the end I'm feeling this sexy cowboy and his transplanted city girl
I wasn't crazy about Hunter, he was cocky and arrogant but I also found him to be a jerk. There really was no reason for him to treat Jess the way he did, he prejudged about how she lived her life as a party when she was in college this is 10 years dude, people change. Aaand sexual harassment anyone..This is her new place of employment and she couldn't do anything without him making a move, especially since he wasn't even sure about her. Then when he claims he loves her he kicks her out of her job and his life by assuming, not face assumption, and then she goes to him? really he needed to grovel, he did you wrong..Yeah not my cup of tea.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest
The characters + storytelling were very captivating
Jessica just wants a chance to prove herself.
However, being label party girl, it is not making things easier for her.
Hunter needed help w/ the paperwork.
Hiring an office manager was a great idea.
Untl, he found out that the party girl would be the new office manager.
Well, Jessica is going to teach Hunter not to judge a book just by its cover.
You tell him, girl !
The storytelling + the character's build were awesome!
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I must say I was not pleased with the character Hunter Knight. He was nowhere anything in the definition of a cowboy or a man. When he finds out that his sister hired her former college roommate Jessica Sinclair. All he can remember is that she was a party girl. Of course that was years ago but he cannot let it go just like he can’t let go of the idea that every women who comes from the city is after his money like his first wife was. That was ten years ago, but he still has not let that go, so he rides Jessica with demeaning insults after he hires her and then begins to tell her what she can and cannot wear. This is where I still kept reading but really disliked the character because as a father of three girls, now women I am tired of fighting schools and other entities on what girls, women can and cannot wear when there are no restriction on males. Sorry, that being said he remains a jerk for most of the book and when he does start becoming human he has one more melt which lends her to flee the ranch. This is a good thing because she is able with the help of a women to take care of a problem from her past and the person who created it. Also he cannot find her even as he tries, she is still working on fixing her, and he realizes his mistake when he notices that the money he paid her is still on his desk. Now he must do something. The ending of the book helps all of the middle by giving her, her power back and is really the only saving grace.
There are some really tough topics addressed in this book. The hostile work environment aspect is a tough sell in the current climate. The story itself felt a little light to me. The pacing was difficult, and the book seemed to move slowly. I did like the characters, and the romance, though gentle was enjoyable. I'm not sure if the book will be part of a series, but I would like to try reading something else from the author, as I was entertained.
