A very beautifully illustrated picture book of the solar system. Not only is each planet shown, but the astroid belt as well. As you can see below, each picture has a short paragraph about the planet or area, as well as little factoids about what we know about the area shown.

Great introduction to learning about the solar system. Stunning pictures.

Perfect book for little ones to get them interested in space and teach them more about the planets and how things work in space!
Lovely illustration, a big hit making a little girl an astronaut this time, not a little boy or a man. This follows the a little girl and her dog into space, starting from the Sun they make way to each planet and it's packed with information about each planet!
Would recommend this to reading kids!

Glow in the Dark: Voyage Through Space by Katy Flint is a gorgeously illustrated, fact & theory filled book, certain to enchant all elementary-aged budding scientists and those children eager to read "all the space books." Bonus points for this book for having a girl character as the astronaut! That's something STEM-loving little girls will absolutely not miss and will love!

Each full-color page guides the reader and the astronaut girl & space pup, along through our galaxy, from the Sun all the way to the Kupier Belt. Along the way we visit each planet, beautifully highlighted, with given facts and theories given in small snippets.

I say theories because that's really what much of our current knowledge of space is. The age of the sun, how the planets were created, etc...we really do not know. But, if one's beliefs don't hold to "billions of years" don't let that stop you from enjoying this book alongside your students or child. Discussing various current ideas within science is exactly what growing minds need! There's no telling what may be learned within the scientific community during their lifetime. Feed the child's mind and curiosities now to broaden their opportunities later.

This book is a great addition to bookshelves, whether in the classroom, library, or in a kid's bedroom.

(I cannot speak to the glow in the dark element of this book as it was read & enjoyed on a Kindle so the "glow" ability isn't a feature.)

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

OMG, this was even better than I had hoped. What I had expected (given the cover): lots of gorgeous space photography as we travel our universe (with maybe a few illustrations here and there). Instead we travel the universe with a sweet girl, her dog, and absolutely stunning illustrations! No photographs at all!

Come explore with the girl and her dog as we travel from the sun (hot hot hot) to the last one, the Kuiper Belt (which features Pluto). I loved finding the girl in the illustrations, sometimes she was quite tiny so you had to look around. I loved that she at times, if the planet allowed it, was seen stepping on the planet. And at times she was just sitting and relaxing on an asteroid.

What I did think was a shame was that they clumped Earth and Moon together. I kind of get why they did it, as the girl came from Earth. But I would have liked to see her take a pit stop in between her journey and tell us about Earth. Or maybe end it with Earth? Though that would be kind of weird as we go from Sun to Kuiper Belt, but I guess in the end would make sense.

Each planet (or belt) has a short story and all sorts of fun facts spread around the illustrations. Some facts were a bit hard to read, but generally they were easily readable (sometimes they were in a box).

The illustrations are just gorgeous! Really stunning.

I just wish I could see the Glow in the Dark poster (and in real life or else it wouldn't work of course).

All in all, I would highly recommend this fun, delightful, and did I mention stunningly gorgeous book to everyone.

Love this idea of a glow in the dark book about space. It is perfect. The colors are wonderful and the information is great. It is a perfect combination of information and colorful needed for such a book.

Wide Eyed books are awesome. Voyage through Space is very informative with engaging illustrations. I briefly showed my Year 5 class it and they were didn't want to go to lunch as they wanted to carry on looking at each page. We will definitely be buying it for our school library (especially as we didn't get to experience the glow in the dark element). Thanks to Netgalley and Quarto publishing for the ARC! Always a pleasure to read these books!

I received a digital ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The book is an excellent source of material for kids learning about our solar system. Unfortunately in the digital ARC the formatting was off and it made reading the book kind of difficult. Also we lost out on any cool glow-in-dark features the printed book will have.

All in all I believe kids will enjoy it. Added bonus of gaining knowledge of the planets and the probes we sent into space. It will hopefully peak their interest enough to seek out more information on the subject as they grow.

This clearly presented trip through space rewards carefully looking to find surprising facts—for example, 1.3 million Earths could fit inside the Sun. The different levels of text signal readers about the “big” overarching narrative about space travel and the detailed information about the planets, the Asteroid Belt, the Kuiper Belt, and the Sun. An easy to navigate book with appealing and informative illustrations.

Downloaded through Netgalley thanks to the publisher, honest review ahead!

This is an informational / nonfiction book with illustrations. Some of the text is over illustrations that can make it hard for readers to read.

The text in the sun and the text under the "BELT" are over imagery that has a lot going on. This can be a struggle for some kids to read and will miss the information from it. This happens in other places throughout the book. But few have the text over less background stuff so it's easier to read.

Otherwise, informative and engaging illustrations. This is probably going to be one of those bigger informative books so the font / background may not interfere with reading as much. But still wanted to point out that there are a few spots -- thankfully not every page -- that may be harder for students/ kids to read.

I have to admit, I’m always on the lookout for new books about space to get for my library. I think my students will love this one! First of all, the illustrations are absolutely stunning. This is one of those books that can be explored in many ways - students and teachers may just want to read the information about each planet the first time they read, and then go back and read the other facts scattered about the page another time. Alternatively, there is plenty of information provided if a student wanted to find out about a singular planet without reading the entire book. I also love that the Asteroid Belt and Kuiper Belt have their own dedicated pages - this is something found in most upper elementary school curriculum, but often lacks the research and attention that the rest of the solar system gets. I can’t wait to get a physical copy of the book so I can see the poster in all its glory as well! Thank you, NetGalley for the ARC!

A stunning Wide Eyed Editions book about our solar system! Follow a little girl and her dog as they travel through the planets and learn about the sun, the planets, the asteroid belt and the Kuiper belt, where Pluto and other dwarf planets reside. The book also includes a beautiful fold out glow-in-the-dark poster!

Thank you Netgalley and Quarto Publishing Group - Wide Eyed Editions for an advanced copy of this book.

If your kids love the night sky - and who doesn’t - check out this book! We were blown away by the stunning images in the book. We sat for over an hour under a blanket (to make it more dark according to the kids) and oohed and sighed over the book. We loved it! Full of great tips, facts and information - this book is great for your budding astronomer!

Huge drawings of astronomical subjects dominate the pages, with lots of small text interwoven. Each planet gets a page, with info like how they got their name, environment, and so on. The visuals are so huge you hardly notice the astronauts most of the time.
Some kids will enjoy the small info blurbs, but most are likely to stare at the drawings in fascination, mesmerized. I can easily picture these drawings selling as art pieces, maybe posters; they’re that awesome.
Note: as a real book this might glow in the dark, but the digital edition doesn’t.

'Glow in the Dark: Voyage through Space' by Katy Flint with illustrations by Cornelia Li seemed at first to be the sort of gimicky kids book I would always see at bookstores, but I was pleasantly surprised by the content and illustrations.

This book is a trip through our solar system from the Sun to the Kuiper belt. Traveling with us are young astronaut and her dog. Part of the fun is finding them on each page. Also fun are the facts about the objects we see along the way. We learn about the temperature and size and the kinds of explorations that have been made.

Each object gets two pages, so that leaves plenty of room for the beautiful illustrations. They are colorful and full of motion. Nothing feels static in this book, and that helps bring the feeling of wonder to the reader.

I love being a reviewer because I can review great books like this, but my review copies don't include things like glow in the dark star maps, so I can only imagine how lucky a young explorer will be to open the map in a dark room and gaze in to space.

I received a review copy of this ebook from Quarto Publishing Group-Wide Eyed Editions, and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.

Voyage through Space by Katy Flint is middle school level picture book that takes the reader from Sol, the innermost region of our solar system, all the way to the Kuiper Belt at the farthest reaches. Each celestial body, plus the two asteroid belts get their own two page spread full of fascinating facts. I had no idea there is a dwarf planet called Ceres in the asteroid belt in the midpoint of the galaxy. This is perfect for science classes, and sure to be enjoyed by any child interested in space.

***Many thanks to Netgalley and Quarto Publishing for providing an egalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Despite the fact I have few excellent toddler books about space, "Glow in the Dark: Voyage through Space," no doubt, will make it to be our favorite one among others we own.

Beautiful illustrations. Simple but spot on information. Good length. All these are great elements to retain young kids' attention. "Glow in the Dark: Voyage through Space" will make an exceptional addition to anyone's library.

What a great read! Highly recommend.
