I wanna give a group hug to everyone involved in production of this fun little book because it inspires just that — affection and gratitude. Colorful illustrations and a cute story are just the thing to add much needed oomph to a reader’s day. 5/5
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC. Opinions are mine.

Hug, hug and spread the love bug. That is the message delivered in this book and an awesome message it is. Dynomike is feeling lonely and empty. This is however cured by Barry Mcdove who gives him the love bug through a hug. Through clever rhymes and colorful illustrations, we are shown the awesome power of hugs.
I'm not exactly sure what the intended age group for this book is but I guess it is appropriate for 5 year olds and above. There are a couple of words that might be “difficult” at least for the children I know. Then again, it might be the chance to teach them to your child. This book made me want a hug too but my family doesn’t do hugs. Reading this book for or with your child is the best excuse to give them a warm hug before they start avoiding them.
Dynomike says, “I’m empty of love. My heart feels hollow today.”
A lot of us usually feel like that from time to time and it looks like things won’t get better. A takeaway from this book is that we all need someone and we all need someone to show us love. It is important to show love to others even if it is just through a hug.
Cute story where sad animals are cheered up by the "love bug" that is spread by hugs. It was a quick and easy read that my kids really enjoyed!
Dynomike: Love bug is a very feel good book. Where love is spread like a bug with hugs. Good rhyme. Energetic illustrations.
A vibrant colorful book that teaches kids to share the love through a hug which puts a smile on your face. This magical hug would take the loneliness away and brighten your day, making you feel warm all over. This cute little book teaches kids to shares the love that wipes away loneliness. A fun and entertaining picture book that helps kids learn the art of sharing and how powerful a simple thing like a hug can be.
Beautiful rhyming story about sharing the love. Great for young children to teach them the need to be kind to others and cheering them up when they’re sad. The illustrations are also amazing. Highly recommended.
This is a sweet rhyming book that will make you feel good once you read it.
Dynomike is lonely and cold. He yearns to feel a love that is real. He encounters Barry McDove and says:
"Hi Barry McDove. I'm empty of love.
My heart feels hollow today."
Barry infects Dynomike with the LOVE BUG. It's a highly contagious love disease that infuses others with love whenever you give them a cozy, wrap-around hug. Everyone who is feeling down and distraught needs a magical heart-boost. Barry wraps his huge paws around Dynomike and... KAPOW!!!... Dynomike is instantly transformed into a hugging machine and he can't wait to share that love which manifests itself inside of him. His hollow heart now is overflowing with love and he can't wait to give that excess away to others who are feeling down and depressed.
He and Barry go on a mission trip performing interventions that are guaranteed to vanish loneliness and make the recipient feel happy, loved, and warm... right down to their toes.
The illustrations are bold, bright and full of emotion. The message is positive and inspiring. The book teaches kids to reach out and be kind and caring to others around them. The nice take away is that hugs are free and the results of giving hugs? Priceless! I like the book and will certainly recommend it.
Very sweet and loving little children's book all about being kind and loving towards one another. Very simple but effective message and the illustrations were beautiful.
Dynomike—a creature I can’t figure out but is apparently a dinosaur—wants to be in love, as told in easy rhyming stanzas. His Hawaiian-shirt wearing friend gives him The Love Bug. I won’t tell you what it is, but I can tell you it’s not an actual bug.
Pooper and duper are rhymed.
Definitely cute, and as simplistic as you’d want for kids. The animals are not drawn to each other’s scale—you can hug an elephant’s leg, but not the way it’s shown here—but since these animals walk and wear clothes and talk, I guess that doesn’t matter.
3.5 pushed up to 4/5
This is a cute story with well done illustrations. There are other books with these cute characters I have enjoyed. It fits well with those books too. A great book for little one and nice as a bedtime story. We recommend it.
This was such a fun book, that I want my own print copy that I can share at story time, and with others. I could see this book in the vein that I see Ain’t Gonna Paint No More, where I just randomly recite stanzas because they make me happy. Plus the illustrations are so vivid and full of joy they jump off the page. Share the love, share the bug, share the hug.
