I have a soft spot for Adam's work, it's not the usual kind of stuff I tend read but I enjoy it nonetheless. This book is a collection of short comics Adam created over the course of a year; mostly about his daily life and are pretty funny and easily relatable. This book ain't nothing taxing but it did make me smile and being a grumpy, pessimistic person that means a lot!

Adam Ellis is delightful. And not just because he reminds me of one of my brothers. These shorts are sometimes longer than his web stuff, with word bubbles crossing panels and more continuity. Same art style, same awkward content. Definitely recommend if you like Allie Brosh or Phillippa Rice. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Funny how depression can be so entertaining.... A collection of cartoons that will bring a smile to your face, especially if you're feeling down:

I received a copy through Netgalley.

I’ve been following Adam since his BuzzFeed days. I always look forward to his IG posts as he always makes me laugh. This is a compilation of those posted on IG previously, though some could have been new as I don’t recall reading them before.

Super Chill is a collection of short, witty comics chronicling a year in artist Adam Ellis's life. They're sharp, fun, and very relatable - I'm looking at you, Lil' Treat and Selfie.

It's a great medium to tackle a topic of depression, too. Ellis uses humor to introduce his diagnosis and therapy, which will hopefully destigmatize the topic and encourage readers to share their own experiences.

The art is fun and modern - Buzzfeed readers will recognize Ellis's work immediately. Since the book is pitched as a year in his life, I was expecting the comics to be a little more cohesive. They're enjoyable anyway, even if many of them seem to work best on their own.

I received a digital copy of Super Chill from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I've seen Adam Ellis' comics around on the internet and really enjoyed them, so I was very excited to read a whole book of his work. I wasn't disappointed and even laughed out loud a number of times. I found the comics very relatable as well as funny, and thought the author dealt very well with some potentially dark topics such as mental health problems. I finished the book in one go and was left with a smile on my face.

This is the perfect book to read after a long day at work or when you're feeling like you're struggling. The comics are so easy to relate to, making our existential dread fun (somehow). 100% recommended. I loved it.

Loved the honesty and the awesome art. Great sense of humor. Def not for kids. Lost a star for the profanity. After reading all about his anxieties my wife and I expected him to look weird and homely. HA! That just goes to show you... even the coolest of us have massive insecurities.

I'e been following Adam Ellis on Instagram for a while now and I LOVE his comics. Plus, he's a cat lover so you know that scores extra points with me. I've seen a few of these before, such as Pull Tab, New Beginnings, Grey Gardens, and Autumn Leaves but I still always enjoy his illustrations.

Usually graphic memoirs are either funny or have good art but not both. Luckily, Super Chill: A Year of Living Anxiously has both laugh-out-loud (but embarrassingly familiar) slices of life and clearly beautiful artwork.

What if your memory foam pillow starts whispering about the worst events of your life? Your DNA results come back 37% chicken nuggets? You have just discovered the 100% most efficient and effective method for clean dishes (that every 20-year-old has found before you)? Hint: it involves a large trash can and a quick visit to Amazon.

As a nerd from birth, I resemble many of the life moments captured here. Why didn’t I see the humor in them at the time? Then create a web series and eventually write a book about them? Ahhh, the familar feelings of envy and regret...

Seriously, these comics are both true and funny! Highly recommended to anyone with a funny bone and/or a life (see Super Chill: A Year of Living Anxiously is inspiring me to be funny—at least I hope so—okay maybe I’m overthinking this—it must also be inspiring me to live anxiously—life gives and it takes away) 5 stars!

Thanks to Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for an advance copy.

Adam Ellis is a creator of comics and previously was an illustrator at Buzzfeed. Super Chill: A Year of Living Anxiously is his second book of comics and it chronicles a year in his life of his life. It is a quick read with nice artwork that will most surely put a smile on your face.

I hadn’t heard of Adam Ellis before or seen any of his webcomics but I enjoyed Super Chill. His comics are relatable and funny and there is a few quirky ones in the mix as well. The topics are wide-ranging from quitting Buzzfeed to finding a pull-off tab on your body to a trip to Japan.

In this book we learn that Adam’s food pyramid contains buttered popcorn jelly beans at the top and that memory foam pillows may taunt you unhappy events of your past. Ellis’ musings on depression are very relatable and I particularly liked the one where he chooses a new therapist. Another favorite of mine was the guide to crystals in which he explains how each one of 10 different types can help you. I think many of us could benefit from a milky quartz cluster because it keeps you from liking your ex’s facebook post at 3 AM!

Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for this advance reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

Fun illustrations and peppy, honest humor. As a follower of Adam Ellis on social media, I was not disappointed. Will appeal to comedy lovers and young adults.

As funny as the rest of his comics. It is relatable, anxious in a "normal" way, I love the way it is drawn.

YAS! A great collection of comics by Adam. I was super happy to see that a lot of the comics in this book were content new to me, still in his signature style that touches on a lot of fun and sometimes way too real topics. I really enjoyed reading this and can't wait to read more from him.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

OMG, I laughed so so much. And not just me, I also whatsapped my fiance with some of the comics and I dare to bet people have looked at him funnily given his reaction back to me. :P

I have read a few Adam Ellis comics, but only a few. So I was pretty dang excited to see a whole book of them. And boy, they are so good.

The comics are about a variety of things, from student loans (Nobody cares!), going to Japan (Gudetama and relating to that little egg dude), moms and their obsession with keeping gift paper intact, anxiety (really, don't eat that xanax bar), to cats (so many cats) and self-esteem. But there are tons more. Most are hilarious, but some made me feel a bit sad (even if I also laughed a few times, which made me unsure if I should laugh). One of my favourites, and maybe I should bring that to my dentist the next time, was the dentist comic. Yes, if you hack and saw so much in my mouth of course I will bleed! Dang it!

I just loved seeing Dami Lee in them as well. She is another artist that I follow and read comics of, and it was so fun to go: OMG, is that Dami? It must be! The pink shirt, the egg, the hair! Nice!

The art? Well, I already knew his art, but it was fabulous to see it again. I just adore how he does backgrounds (so many details).

All in all, I hope Adam Ellis will make more art/comics. I would definitely recommend this book if you want to laugh your butt off.

Adam Ellis is no stranger to internet fame. He's come out with a fantastic new comics collection called Super Chill, based on autobiographical comics over a year in his life after he left his job as an illustrator at Buzzfeed. He is able to balance hilarious comics about collecting comics with heavier subjects, like Season Affective Disorder, self-esteem, and obsessions.

Super Chill is super enjoyable and extremely funny. I don't feel like there was a single weak comic in this whole collection. Remember that Adam Ellis does occasionally have a gross out factor in his comics, so if you're made queasy easily, I'd skip through this with care.

Super Chill is available from Andrews McMeel Publishing October 23rd.

Really enjoyed this smart, funny and self deprecating collection of comics looking at everything from social anxiety to seasonal affective disorder. Ellis' sense of humour veers from bizarre to dry but is always on point. Not a book that made me laugh out loud but definitely one that had me nodding in agreement. Highly recommend

Ellis’s comics deal with some pretty heavy topics, such as seasonal affective disorder and struggles with self esteem, while still being silly. SUPER CHILL manages to be bright and positive, making it both relatable and comforting. Definitely happy to have added it to my collection.

I'm a fan of Adam Ellis's webcomics and really enjoyed this collection of comics. It's funny and relevant and loved the whole collection. It's a great collection and one I could go back to time and time again.

Adam Ellis is an illustrator; he used to work for Buzzfeed until recently, where he decided to strike out on his own. If this book is any evidence to go by, then I have to say that Ellis made the right call here.
What first caught my attention to Super Chill, other than the artwork which immediately told me who was behind it, was the subtitle; A Year of Living Anxiously. I think anybody living with anxiety would immediately zoom in on that title, and it’s hard to blame us for that fact. It’s not every day you get to see a comic artist being that brutally honest about their life and their experiences – though thankfully it is becoming more common. I love that this sort of graphic novel is normalizing those conversations. Keep up the great work!
I’ve been aware of Adam Ellis for a while now, following him on social media and the like. But this is the first time I ever binge-read any of his comics. It was such a fun and enjoyable experience. While there are heavier discussions being carried through the course of this book, Ellis manages to keep things light on the whole, a fact that is helped by the number of purely comical comics mixed in.
If you’re a fan of Adam Ellis then this would really be a great purchase for you – especially if you like the idea of being able to keep these on your shelf for a moment where you need a pick-me-up. It’d also make a great gift for a fan of his – or even somebody that you suspect would like the series. In short, yes I know you could get the comics online for free, but supporting the artist is a great way to ensure that they continue making the thing you’re enjoying.

I've enjoyed Ellis's comics since reading them on Buzzfeed and his sense of humor usually appeals to me. I was interested to see how much material for the book would be new, and now much I would already know from following his online presence. Luckily, most of the comics are new and all of them are enjoyable. Several are longer than what he typically put out online and it was great to see how he could carry the storytelling on for more panels.

A great collection of fun comics. I had read some comics by Adam Ellis online before reading this book, so I pretty much knew what I was in for. I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed this.

The appeal of Adam's comics is their candid approach to millennial culture and the somewhat dark humor that has grown alongside it, especially on the internet. It's this collective cloud of self-deprecating existential realizations, plus relatable anxiety anecdotes. Adam has developed a good pulse for picking out these jokes so that they're widely appealing to a certain public (if you read and enjoy Buzzfeed, you're probably within that public).

This book is a pretty quick read and it made me snort and chuckle multiple times. I only wished it were longer and had more content like his usual comics where it's four panels and the last one is the bit where you crack up, but only because that's how I've grown used to seeing his comics online. By the way, only a handful of the comics in this volume have been posted online before.

I've seen some criticism about Adam's art but I am not bothered by it at all. It is glossy and confident in a pop culture sort of way, and it communicates the intended message without interference. So it seems to me like it accomplishes its intended purpose. I also appreciate the thought he puts into the characters' outfits and hairstyles.

I would recommend this to someone looking for a quick chuckle, and to young people who enjoy dark internet humor.

I have been a huge fan of Adam Ellis for quite some time now. I love his style of humor, and often find myself looking up more of his comics online. I was so excited when I seen this collection available on NetGalley, and I knew I simply had to review it! Let's just say that it did not disappoint! I always find his comics to be relatable, yet absolutely hilarious. I can't wait to read more from him, and I will definitely be picking up a few of these books to gift to my friends.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I truly appreciate it!

If you've seen the comics of Adam Ellis before, you know exactly what you are getting into, and you love the ones he has posted before, you'll love this collection. If you don't know his work, they're incredibly relatable, slices of life that you can't help but to laugh at (even if it hits a little too close to home). He's been one of my favorite web comics to follow as he never disappoints and I'm glad to say this collection didn't disappoint, either (except maybe that the Adamorphs cover wasn't used).

Attention readers with anxiety: this graphic novel was created for you!

Adam perfectly sums up what it's like to have both anxiety and depression in a time where it's very easy to lock yourself away from the rest of the world. I related way too much to this compilation of comics and HIGHLY recommend others take the half hour to read it. Oh, and can we talk about how incredible the art style is?!

I really loved most of these comics (but I already knew I would, since I love Adam's Instagram account), but it felt like there were too few of them. Maybe this was all written and finished before he had more free time after leaving Buzzfeed, but 120 pages is scant. The content is great, but I zipped through it in about 20 minutes.

Still heartily recommended, especially for younger people who can so easily relate to Adam's sense of humor.

This was a fun and relatable book based on Ellis's popular webcomic. Both new and current fans of Ellis's work will find something to enjoy here, and readers with no previous experience will need no introduction, as there are no strong characters or plot to introduce (the only main character is Adam, and he's a wonderful "every man" without complex pretenses or backstory to be shared).

My only complaint was that it was too short (as are most webcomic collections). I heartily look forward to Ellis's next book!

I received a free ARC copy from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I have been following Adam Tots via social media for a few year now I would say. So when I got approved for this ARC I was super stoked. I am sure glad I did. I love Adams comic. The majority of these were a major hit a few of them made me burst out laughing and I even had to share a few immediately with my husband, Autumn Leaves I am talking about you. Reading this book won't be a disappointed. His drawing is awesome, his dialogue is on point, a truly good comic. You won't go wrong!!!

This book is titled Super Chill: A Year of Living Anxiously by Adam Ellis. I'm a new fan of Mr. Ellis! This book was full of insights, and "I do that, too!" moments put out there in a hilarious way.

Sometimes it's anxiety, not wanting to do social things, and sometimes you just want the tacos more than the workout! I laughed a lot, I mean a lot! I want to read this one over again before it expires.

I have enjoyed Sarah's Scribbles, and this is in the a similar category but for guys. Enjoy!

Thanks to Author/publisher for ARC of the book.

The book is not in kindle format and i think its better that way because it would not make any justice to the awesome art/illustrations.

A collection of human behavior a lot of us can connect with...general laziness, procrastination, what vacations really turn out to be are rightly captured. This book is an extremely quick read..30 mins or so but it for sure brings out laughs.

Oftentimes the artwork was exemplary but I found the storytelling to be just middle of the road for the majority of the collection.

Super Chill is a lighthearted look at living with anxiety through a humorous larger than life lens. The art style is cute, but the artist isn’t afraid to experiment occasionally which I like. I think the slice of life comics in this collection work better than the ones that are meant to be just jokes because the rhythm doesn’t seem quite right on those. I’ll pribably check out some of his other work in the future.

Adam Ellis makes me laugh.

It is a funny look at the inner most thoughts that so many people with any form of social anxiety feel.
It was very relatable in a self deprecating kind of way.

I love Adam's comics online, so I was thrilled to see that he has a book of them coming out. We are all Adam in our own way, and I so enjoyed laughing with him in this compilation. A must-read for any 20something trying to find their way.

I'm sure I've read some of the Buzzfeed comics before in the past, but I've yet to read any of the ones included in Super Chill. This was a good collection of stories no doubt inspired by Ellis's day-to-day, and on one level I can relate with regard to dealing with anxiety. Although my anxiety isn't quite the same, I feel that other readers will relate to Ellis. Life can be especially difficult, especially when you're hit with so many outside factors (even the smallest ones can cause an anxiety episode). Ellis doesn't try to offer a solution but instead a means of coping with the anxiety he feels.

The art style is quite unique and readers familiar with the Buzzfeed comics will definitely recognize Ellis's signature art. Overall I do recommend Super Chill to readers. 3.5 stars out of 5 stars

I'm a fan of Ellis' work for months and never forget to daily check his tumblr & IG so I'm familiar with his weirdness.

Super Chill delivers its premise, like, imagine yourself an anxious person, but chill.

Yeah, that.

I might want Adam to dig more, but this is chill too.

"Super Chill" by Adam Ellis was hilariously relatable. It was a super quick read in which I saw myself on almost every page.

While some of this was hit and miss, I think as a non-fan of autobiographical blogging-style comics, this is by far one of the better ones. Some of the pages don't exactly nail the comical, but when he goes on a darker tangent – such as the hang-nail, or the trip to the dentist – he clearly proves a decent inventiveness; you're smirking as well as wincing at the same time. I think I liked it because the book is half inspired by life, half making for a gag – so it's a change from the full-on yuck fest, but it's by no means all "me, me, me". Well worth a look.

** I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. **

If you love to swim in the pool of comics then you surely know Adam Ellis. No? okay! you may not know the artist but you will surely familiar with this by the grace of mighty internet –

Here, Adam presents Adam. One of the funniest and truest self in form of cartoons is here… in book.

I cannot praise enough of this book because every damn strip is effing relatable. we all have been there at one point and Adam chose to put it on paper.

Like when you are shy and cannot disagree with your hairdresser.( every effing time bro)

When you are an adult but still need your mom to get an appointment to get a haircut.

The honest expression and inner talk of your body that we need to pay heed of.

The motivation we need to invest on ourselves through peptalk to conquer higher self esteem and win adulting.

Adam perfectly shows how clumsy we could have been.

and how we consume favorite foods by believing self made myths.

and he introduced to us funny characters from other culture with which we can relate our soul.

He showed his obsession about crystals and makes you obsessive to have them too. (I want that Lemurian Seed Crystal badly)

That how every single time we pose for cute cool selfies but ended up looking like Golum.

and how the book Adam feels about real Adam.

I loved it. It’s a five star book for me because all the cartoons are so relatable with my introvert, low self esteem, lazy ass soul that I became sad and happy both after finishing the book. I am a huge Adam Ellis fan, stalk him and follow him on social medias and then this book give me some real super chills.
Will I buy this book? – Hell Yeah!
Will I recommend it to others? – to every adult ( but a non adult and introvert in inside).

Super Chill by Adam Ellis is blooming hilarious! It is super relatable, humourous, and a total delight.

Super Chill by Adam Ellis is a gag-filled comic loosely based on the author's real-life experience.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THE WORK
Though the art is eye-catching and neat, the writing is quite good - the understated wryness and honesty of the narration and dialogue bring out the best in this book.

DISLIKES
I did not get a few of the jokes. However, that might be due to my own default joke setting.

WHO IS IT FOR
People familiar with Adam's work will love more-of-the-same Super Chill. Newcomers who like reading funny comics strips will fall in love with the work.

Adam Ellis has done some of my favorite online comics that I've ever found. My favorite is not found in this book, and I don't know if I'm super behind on his comics, or if he's just been keeping all the good ones tucked away for this book, but I had never seen any of these. I was SUPER pumped because they are all incredibly hysterical.

He has a smart, sharp sense of humor, loads of self deprecating humor and second hand embarrassment. The trademark of any online comic, and it's done brilliantly. Beyond worth the read.

If you think this style of comic strips before, that is due to Ellis before a former Buzzfeed illustrator where he has posted his artwork before. Ellis even has his own instagram account as well where he shares his comics as well. Like in Super Chill, Ellis’s comics are based on his that are relatable to everyone else.

With humor, Ellis has managed to make his comics relatable will tons of laughter from readers. I even found a few that were extremely related to myself and couldn’t stop laughing as well. I have seen his comics before and when I saw this up for review, I couldn’t pass up the chance to see more of it. I have always liked the style and the humor. The comics were always something that made me laugh.

If you need a little something you brighten your day after a long, boring day, this is definitely something that can cheer you up. I really suggest it if you need a few laughs.

Adam Ellis is one of my favorite webcomic artists of all time, and Super Chill is a delightful collection of his comics that I think most anxiety-ridden millennials can relate to from start to finish. Or... maybe it's just me who also finds themselves succumbing to crystal collecting obsessions and feeling the pressing need to call my mom and ask her to schedule my appointments despite my being a grown woman?

Anyways...

This is adorable, and hilarious, and I love Adam Ellis. That is all.

Thank you so much to the publisher for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I have followed Adam Ellis' work for some time and was so excited to see his work would be collected in book form. Super CHill includes great comics that tap into the real world in humour and entertaining way. He pokes fun of himself as well as us but we see these truths in the comics. That's why we laugh; because it's true. Ellis tells us a lot about life while making us laugh.
I would recommend this book to all my friends!

Adam Ellis has been on my radar for years, from his early days on tumblr, to employment at BuzzFeed, to branching out on his own; his overly dramatic sense of humor and style has always made me laugh, sometimes cackling like a mad witch.

These days, I look forward to his musings on Instagram, which are highly entertaining and relatable, and where he posts some of the comics featured in this book. The book is loosely arranged by various topics, including: daily life, work, travel, health, and holidays. I especially enjoy the comics featuring the general anxiety and ennui that comes with being a “millennial.” It’s freeing to know I’m not the only one who feels total panic at making phone calls or cancelling plans.

I think of Adam Ellis as one of the pinnacle artists of the four-panel webcomic explosion of the last decade. I’ve enjoyed watching his style and humor evolve, and I think people of a similar age will appreciate his work.

I have posted this review to Goodreads. My thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC.

Adam Ellis knows how to make me laugh, even when I didn't know I wanted to. His comic series masters the humor in the daily dramas we all roll through, but then he turns the dial up a notch and shares glimpses of another aspect of his life that rarely makes it to the funny page: his coping with anxiety and depression. Those aren't inherently funny topics, but Ellis' kindly self-deprecating takes find the keen humor in the situation. Anyone who's experienced these feelings to any degree can relate. I laughed so hard at some of the comics, not just because Ellis' writing is so clever, but also because I understood exactly how he felt and it was reassuring to know someone else did to. And it was refreshing, even inspiring, to be able to have a good chuckle about it. As for the art, his comic renderings of himself and his every day life are crisply gorgeous, and I especially loved the color and depth in the scenes portraying his fears in full imaginary detail. I was vaguely aware of Ellis' comic series on the Web before, but this book made me an instant fan.

Some of the comics are ones I’ve seen before on his social media, but most of them were new to me. This would make a great gift!

Armed with a vivid imagination, the author presented himself in a goofy, sometimes satirical and even far-reaching look at everyday situations. It was accompanied with masterful illustrations. Jabs at the ho hum existence of everyday life in his world came alive with highly entertaining drawings and captions.

An over-riding quizzical look was taken of the insecurities and anxieties that surface during daily living. Delivered in good taste, our strengths, weaknesses, and inner thoughts that would be better left hidden were daringly exploited. It was well done.

I offer my thanks to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for this ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I thought this book was hilarious, very many laugh out loud moments. It was also very relatable as well. I also suffer with anxiety and depression and it's refreshing when some takes that and can make light of it while also making people feel less alone through really funny comics. The comics were so well done, I love Adam Ellis' work.

I'll definitely be recommending this to people I know who would find comfort in this book, as well as enjoy the humour it comes with. I'm also a bookseller, so I can't wait to find the perfect customers who will enjoy this book.

I actually had no idea who Adam Ellis was before I started reading Super Chill, but the synopsis really sounded like something I’d be interested in. These comics follow Ellis over a year and depict relatable everyday life events but also more serious topics such as depression. I really enjoyed the humor in these both funny and depressing real-life stories, and so many of them I could totally relate to.
Overall, this really reminded me of Sarah Andersen’s comics - so if you enjoyed Adulthood is a Myth & co., I highly recommend checking out Super Chill!

I've been a fan of Adam Ellis for awhile, and his comics always bring a smile to my face. This collection did not disappoint!! I was so lucky to receive an advance copy and I will continue to cherish Adam's work! DO follow him on Facebook etc. as his all-too-relatable content is always worth a view.

I've been a fan of Adam Ellis' webcomic for ages and this collection was the perfect bundle of his dark humor, hilariously relatable moments and thinly veiling the truth about depression.
This collection of cartoons definitely brings a smile to your face, whether you've been a long-time fan of Adam's work, or just stumble upon it now.

Comics limited to a page or two at a time show snippets from the (anxious) life if the author, Adam Ellis. The thing that makes this composure more compelling than others I have recently read is the at times weird, even sinister and dark humor that is the essence of some of the parts. It is the kind of humor that seems to be prevalent and most relatable to people my age at this point in time, which also made me deeply resonate with some of it. Enjoyable in small portions or as a whole, easy and fun as well as the aesthetically pleasing art style, I would definitely recommend this work of art.

As fantastic as I hoped it would be! Adam Ellis is hilarious. His art and writing are some of my absolute favorites. They go together seamlessly. I will read this book repeatedly and cannot wait to get a finished copy! This will be highly recommended to anyone who will listen.

If you’re anxious and socially awkward, this book is for you (it might also be for you if you just like laughing at anxious, socially awkward people, but that’s not very nice). With this collection of autobiographical comics, Adam Ellis invites us into his struggles, neuroses, and obsessions. I’m an extremely introverted person whose job requires a lot of social interaction, and I found a lot of these both relatable and hilarious. A few of them seem to be just weird for the sake of being weird, but as a fan of Gary Larson those works for me too. Overall, I highly recommend this for a good laugh (and the reassurance that you’re not the only anxious person out there).

A fun, quirky comic book that was short and really relatable. (Seriously, you should see MY crystal collection.) You can find the author on Instagram where he updates frequently with lots of entertaining content.

Adam Ellis, along with Sarah Andersen (Sarah's Scribbles) and Christopher Grady (Lunarbaboon), is one of my favorite short-form web comics artists working right now. Some critics have reacted negatively to the extreme polish of his artwork, claiming it's dull and too commercial, but I've always considered it a perfect complement to the kinds of jokes Ellis likes to tell. If you like pop culture-infused jokes and "millennial" humor that is generally light hearted and silly, I would highly recommend Ellis' work.

After seeing the cover, I had to read the description to find out this did not feature Abraham Lincoln, considering the beard and all. Thought it was going to be a “Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter” kinda thing. But no, it’s not a dead president, it’s about a guy who. . . lives anxiously, in one of the most colorful comic strips I’ve ever seen.
Best moment had to be that dour deadpan fortune teller. And wow, New Favorite Song is as dark as it gets!
There’s one strip where he relates to a cartoon character; I relate to him only because when I was in Japan I ate a pikachu burger too. (It was delicious.) Also, the Selfie.
3.5 pushed up to 4/5

Fun collection of one sheet comics; I'd say about 99% of the jokes are successful, and Mr. Ellis' style is engaging, so a definite recommend.

Super Chill: A Year of Living Anxiously by Adam Ellis is a quirky cartoon collection that perfectly captures the essence of living with an anxiety disorder. I related to so many of these cartoons. I appreciated that the main person in the cartoons was a caricature of the author himself. If these are expressions of his daily life, we'd get along great! I loved the ones breaking the fourth wall, with created and creator coming face to face. Almost a spiritual meeting with God, or the One. And his three-legged kitty! Too cute, and perfectly capturing cat logic. I ended up buying a copy for myself ::D Highly recommended!

**Random sidenote coincidence… same day I purchased my copy of Super Chill my sister was watching a YouTube video about a Twitter thread concerning a ghost story called Dear David. Imagine my surprise to recognise the name and Twitter handle!

***Many thanks to the Netgalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for providing an egalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I was sent this book as an advanced copy by the publisher via Edelweiss and Netgalley for reviewing purposes, but all opinions are my own
I decided to pick up this ARC because I really enjoyed Adam Ellis's comics which he posted on Buzzfeed. And, as expected, this was great, there were some great and hilarious comics that were very relatable. I don't have many critiques about it, it's a great book, but not amazing, if you like Sarah Scribbles, you should definitely read this.

Ellis' cartoons are hilarious... Weird, relatable little slices of humour. As a teacher, there are definitely cartoons in here I'd use as mentor texts for students.

Super Chill: A Year of Living Anxiously by Adam Ellis is a collection of comics that handle some tough
topics like seasonal affective disorder and struggles with self-esteem, while also touching on the silly and absurd—like his brief, but intense obsession with crystals.

Super Chill is both funny and poignant. Those of us that are more introverted can relate to to his need to recharge at home, and his desire to avoid large groups of people. I could see a bit of myself in a good number of his comics, aside from the ones about drinking or being high- unless you count how I feel after a dose of cold or allergy medication. I enjoy his art style and think that anyone that has dealt with depression, anxiety, or just not wanting to go out in the world to deal with people will enjoy the read. All of the included comics are ones I had not seen, so I found it to be doubly entertaining and it inspired me to go out and follow Adam on more than just Facebook.

Super Chill is exactly what I was hoping for when I requested the title on Netgalley. I like Adam's art style and sense of humor- and can relate to most of his experiences. I have seen some of his work before, and was not disappointed in this collection.

If the name Adam Ellis sounds familiar, you may know him as the man who has had a ghost haunting him. Dear David. In this graphic novel, he doesn’t mention said ghost, but it’s an autobiographical collection of comics that follows a year in his life – everything from dealing with his self-esteem to more random silly topics. ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ (4.5/5 stars)

I laughed so hard reading this I had tears coming out of my eyes. And some snot coming out of my nose. If you've ever been on the internet, chances are you've seen some of Adam Ellis's comics - they perfectly capture what it is to be an anxious, depressed, introverted twentysomething wannabe adult alive in the world today. Love it and need more comics.

I adore Adam Ellis' web comics and follow him faithfully across many platforms.

As anticipated, I was amused immediately, on the dedication page actually "This book is dedicated to Missy Elliot" what's not to love?! Also, her music will be playing in the background for the duration of the book, the stage is set...I put my kindle down, flip it and reverse it.

I laughed at nearly every single panel which is hard to do these days but a lot of what he's about relates to the things I'm about. Whether it's being a plant qween or ardent lover and defender of three legged cat roommates, I'm about it. You don't have to belong to a certain generation to think this book is funny but if you're between the ages of 12 and 50, ever go on the internet or outside, have ever used an InstaSnapBook app.... then there's something here for you.

This book takes us readers along in the authors day to day going through situations that cause him anxiety. This book was such a fun read and so relatable to my life. The illustrations were so neat and clean. The author is very talented in his writing as well as his drawings.

This was a fun book of comics. If you like his work, or other Instagram type comics like Heart and Brain or Herding Cats you’ll like this book.

I've followed Adam on Facebook for a long time already and I loved looking at his comics, so when I saw this book on here I had to request it. All of his comics are so relatable and hilarious, I love his art style so so much! I definitely recommend this to basically everyone!

I loved this collection. Very much in the same vain as the Sarah Scribble's collections. Very relatable humor about adulting in our current world. He had me at the dedication (it was to Missy Elliot! lol)

Embarrassed as I am to admit it, this collection was my introduction to cartoonist Adam Ellis - but hopefully it makes up for my tardiness that I was hooked immediately going in, becoming an instant fan (I have since found him on social media/seen much more of his work). Pretty much anyone who lives the kind of life where dumb things go wrong daily (aka the human race) can relate to Ellis, who in his crisp/animation-level artwork (seriously, Adam the oft-put-upon character would make for a great animated TV series) shows his one-of-a-kind level of snark in the saga of a young man who, regardless of what life deals him (healing through crystals? a disturbing breakdown from "Anceztry.com"?), tries to keep things positive. Funny and relatable, my only critique: at 120 pages the collection is just too short, reading very fast until I didn't realize it was over until it was - and was left wanting more. 4.5/5 stars

NOTE: I received a free ARC of this title from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review.
