Marie Tuhart is fast becoming a must read author, and her new contemporary romance and first in the brand new McMillan Passion series is HOT!! BDSM is a favourite genre of mine and this book was right up my alley. I especially liked that Ms Tuhart explained intricate dynamics, but didn’t go over the top with exceedingly heavy scenes.
Cameron and Kristen are wonderful characters. They are easy to like and both bought an interesting background to the story. I also enjoyed watching this couple learn about each other and making informative decisions before moving forward in their relationship. I can’t wait for Ms Tuhart’s next book!
ARC received for review
A whole lot of talking about BDSM with a couple scenes plus a sweet little romance thrown in. Her parents were sh*ts. Several more brothers and a sister that like kink...maybe a little less talking.
I received an arc from Netgalley. This was quick read and great read. Hot scenes and the Dom/Sub aspect were well explained and approached respectfully in this book.
You could feel the steam between Cameron and Kristen. Kristen started off unsure of Cameron and his Dom aspects but she trusts him and he led her through her doubts and both fell in love.
Great start to a new series. Cameron and Kristen have been attracted to each other for a while, and now that he is back from Scotland, will Kristen be ready to explore they type of relationship they can have or will she let others get in the way of the type of relationship she would like to have with Cameron. This is a fast-paced romance with great characters, steamy chemistry and an entertaining read. I look forward to more in the series.
I really liked this book! I love how as soon as he came back from Scotland he went right to her to discuss what she whispered to him at his going away party!. Cameron wants Kristen now that he is back and won't let her say no. I love the BDSM theme of this book. It was hot and there was chemistry. I love that he listened to her fears and ways always there for her and still wanted to help make her fantasies come true. What an interesting take on some extra "highland games" too. I want to read more of this family and more from Marie!
I really enjoyed this BDSM romance. Kristen and Cameron are amazing characters. I loved the intense chemistry and emotional connection between these two. I honestly can't say for sure which of these characters appealed to me more. Cameron is completely swoon worthy. Just a wonderful man and an amazing Dom. Kristen is so relatable and I love her sassiness and spunk. This is a beautiful, steamy romance that has lots of heart.
This was more a book about relationships and getting over fears. There’s some bdsm, but most was talk about it. It was a good story, but something was missing for me. It wrapped up a little too nicely in the end, but was a hea at least.
Highland Dom by Marie Tuhart is book One in the McMillan Passion Series. This is the story of Kristen Caldwell and Cameron McMillan.
Kristen is working toward starting a new life with her Cozy Corners Cafe in this small town. But her attraction to Cam and some of the BDSM lifestyle is starting to enter into her mind. Cam has been attracted to Kristen from the start and looks to follow up with those feelings now that he is back in town after going away to teach at a Scotland University. But Kristen has issues and trust is one of them.
I enjoyed reading their story and feel this is a great start to a really good series!
This is my first book by Marie Tuhart and I enjoy the story. It wasn't overly new to me and the cover was a little misleading, in my opinion, but it was a pretty good romance.
Kristen opened a Café in town and she's trying to keep on top of everything, making it grown. When Cameron comes back to town things change courses for her. She was not expecting him to remember what she said to him, on his going away party.
Cameron has been attracted to Kristen for a while and he's been holding off but now that he's back he won't do that anymore. The best entryway is what she told him, on his getaway party, and so the dance begins between these two.
The BDSM aspect in this book was light, for me, but it was well done. Cameron did a great job as a Dominant, listening to her but at the same time pushing it a little so she could experience her fantasies.
The relationship aspect was also well done. I think it was sweet and hot, the chemistry between the characters was there and both were easy to like.
I said the cover was a little misleading. Please, don't get me wrong, it has some of Scotland because Cameron went to teach there and the fantasy, but I think it could have been done differently.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book provided by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are my own.
What is not to love about a Highland Romance with a dominant Alpha man? I enjoyed this story as it had an unusual take on its story line. Both Cameron and Kristen have great attraction to each other and Cameron wants to explore his lifestyle with her further. There was a lot of background discussion on what the BDSM lifestyle contains and the assurance that Kristen could handle it. Cameron moved slowly with her to alleviate her fears. Although there were some hot scenes with the BDSM theme, this book was heavy on the relationship factor. To my disappointment, the romance did not happen in Scotland, but Cameron is Scottish, and he is a dom. This was a quick easy read.
HOT to read. Highland Dom is an interesting and quite hot story to read. Good characters. Nice dialogue to go along with the splendid story.
An emotional read with a good storyline. I was provided with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Kristen Caldwell, owner of Cozy Corners Café, and Professor Cameron McMillian kick of this new series by Marie Tuhart. This was the first book that I read by this author and it was definitely an enjoyable ready. I would say that while there are elements of BDSM in this story, it really is pretty light. Kirsten has be reluctant to enter a new relationship and has sort of had her eye on Cameron. She got a several year reprieve from having to act on her attraction to Cameron while he was teaching in Scotland. Before he left, Kristen whispered some of her fantasies to Cameron and they have both been thinking about them. Ohhhhhhhhhh…..as you can imagine, this was a exciting lead-up to their reunion.
Because of some past mistakes, Kristen holds back on letting herself fully into a relationship with Cameron and then she doesn’t really want word to get out. She is very worried that her business will be affected by her dating the eldest, somewhat kinky, so of the McMillan family. Cameron is straightforward in what he wants and is not looking to play games. He is also confident in himself and what he wants...now to just rub some of that confidence off on Kristen. This was a good read. Sweet, fun and swoon-worthy at times.
