This is a great introduction to Fortnite, the game that's taking the world by storm! Kids ages 10 to young adult and beyond are obsessing about this free game that offers season passes and upgrades for purchase.

With solid graphic representation and simple text, new players can get up to speed quickly and efficiently as they learn about basic game mechanics and learn more intricate skills to get the most fun and have the best chance at succeeding in the game, whatever your goals may be.

Many parents are concerned that their kids are spending too much time enmeshed in this world. For adults, this book is a good way for parents to learn what their kids are doing, see what kinds of safety and security measures they can take to keep their kids safe online, and find new ways to connect with their kids by talking about their latest obsession.

I'm pretty late boarding the fortnite craze bus.
However I found this book really informative and helpful, I read it with my 13 year old son who has been playing for a while now and there was some useful bits that he didn't know about. As with alot of games now, it moves so fast onto new things or with fortnight it's seasons . It's unfortunate that some of the weapens listed have already been retired in the new season.
All in all its a great intro to get you going ans a good platform to build your skills on.

Very informative and funny! As a lover of Fortnite, this book was a fast fun read and will probably help a lot of players.

I have to admit I had not played Fortnite until I received this book. I had watched it being played so was familiar with the game and some of the strategy. After reading through this book, I have not only survived, I have quickly passed my playing peers. The tips, tricks and guides were very easy to understand, even for a challenged player such as myself. I've really been enjoying my game time and I have to admit this book made it a whole lot better. Whether a beginner or more advanced player, you'll improve your strategies with this book.

Let me preface this: I don't play Fortnite but am very familiar with the game because all 3 of my kids, my nieces and nephews and all their friends play this game. And after reading this guide, I'm pretty sure I'd do pretty well if I decided to play it with all of them. I love the concept of the game, the gameplay and the graphics in Fortnite, and this guide is very well-written. The author explains the game thoroughly so you'll understand whether you're an expert or a new player, and discusses tons of strategies for surviving throughout the game. I especially appreciate that he gave tips for how to succeed even if you don't want to buy the season pass. I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I got this book because my husband plays Fortnite. This gave me a better understanding of the game and I play games as well, but I did not play Fortnite. I got this to understand why he plays it. Some of the tips he found useful and it made reading it worth it.

This was a book I got because I have at least one Fortnite enthusiast in the house! And his reactions at when I do anything to stop him in the middle of a game are exactly like one of any of those videos Jimmy Kimmel posted some time ago when he requested parents send in such videos :)
But jokes apart, this book is a cool guide for those Fortnite enthusiasts and helps them up their game; and while my son was looking at news more recently of people actually hiring coaches to become better Fortnite players, he commented on how this book was a way more practical way to coach yourself!! and more reasonably priced too (well, for us, it was a review copy received from NetGalley - thank you! - in exchange for a review, but still!)..
So, yes - if you want to stay alive in the world of all that is Fortnite, do yourself a favor, get this book and level up..

'The Fortnite Guide to Staying Alive: Tips and Tricks for Every Kind of Player' by Damien Kuhn is a strategy guide for the popular video game. I don't play the game, but I know the basic concepts in this fight to survive game.

The book gives an overview of the game, then jumps right in to the strategy. There are tips for what to do while waiting for the bus, the best place to land for a fast landing and to get the player near loot crates. The various weapons and their rarities and uses are covered. Building materials and strategies for finding shelter. Even how to capture the elusive and rare llama is talked about.

I really want to see a new updated version of this book!
