Description
He once destroyed her life; now he’s getting the chance to save it.
Princess Salari moved to Paris after her father, the king of Kattahar, exiled her. But when she hears about his sudden death, she’s ready to come home. After ten years away, she’s stunned by the sight of Kalif, the man who destroyed her life. Her former childhood friend and the only man to ever break her heart has morphed into the sexiest royal guardsman she’s ever seen. Although she refuses to even entertain the thought of falling for his seductive glances again, she won’t have a chance to avoid him. Someone doesn’t want Salari back in the palace, and they’ll stop at nothing to make sure she ends up dead. With no choice but to accept Kalif’s protection, she’ll have to guard her heart against the one man who can destroy it.
Kalif Nazat never expected to be tasked with guarding Princess Salari. She still despises him, despite his attempts to apologize for his part in her exile. He’d had no good options that day ten years ago, and even the lesser of two evils had terrible consequences for the only woman he’d ever loved. But with someone wishing Salari dead, he figures keeping her alive is the only way he can redeem himself. As the killer closes in, he’ll risk his life to keep her safe, and in turn risk losing his heart forever.

For an outcast Princess, Salari did just fine for herself. Out of necessity but still that takes courage. Kalif will never forgive himself for his part in her banishment. But by saving her life he gets a second chance. As long as he doesn't blow it.
The Sheikha's Unexpected Protector, is mainly about Salari and Kalif, with only brief interactions with others. I loved that.
This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.
I really liked this book better than the first one in the series! Salari was coming home after the father that banished her died. The worst part for her was the fact that her former friend was the one that lied and caused her to be banished.
That makes it hard for a HEA when the man has hurt the woman he loves so badly! Unless, there is an awfully good reason for this betrayal. It really did seem like Kalif was put in a position that he did not have a good choice so he went with the option that he hoped would be the least diseasterious.
My only thought was that if he really cared for Salari, Kalif should have at least attempted to see her in person. If he truly cared for her, I would hope that he would try to take care of her after the damage that he caused. I also wonder about how she survived on her own, did she have money to help or was she destitute when she got to France? A bit more info on that would have been nice.
The person responsible for the attacks on Salari was surprising and glad to hear the real reason that it was so easy to get into the palace! At one point, I wondered how well Kalif was doing as captain of the guard when it was so easy to get to Salari.
Loved the epilogue and their HEA!
This book has everything.....romance,, entertaining storyline, awesome characters and superb passion and chemistry throughout the whole story. Definitely loved this book and was such a pleasure to read. Bring on the next book by this talented author.
Princess Salari has returned to her country after exile however not every one is pleased to have her back. Kalif must defend her while finding out who is behind the danger. Page turner from the first page. Good second book in series.
Ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.
After living in exile for ten years, Princess Salari finally returns home. She is still trying to get over her broken heart from when she left before. Her father was convinced she did something but no matter how hard she try to confess her innocence her pleas went unheard. Returning to her home country she reunited with the love she left behind and her brother. Unfortunately not everyone is happy to see her return and her life is in danger. L0ve how Leslie continues her stories throughout the series.
