Breach of Trust

This was a really good read. It kept me interested from start to finish and was a rollercoaster read the entire time. 

Upon reading about the author, Rachel Dylan, it helps me understand how she can write with so much knowledge in a legal realm. She practiced law for over a decade! The great thing about this, is that she was able to write this story in a manner in which I didn't feel lost or over my head. The story was enthralling.

Basically Mia Shaw is a lawyer and her best friend, a male colleague was murdered. She wants to do her best to make sure the guy they caught is put behind bars forever, however there are circumstances that may be pointing a different direction.

All in all, great read. This book has made me want to read the rest of the books in the Atlanta Justice series. Even more interesting, is that living so close to Atlanta, I was able to relate to some of the landscape details she provided.

Breach of Trust by Rachel Dylan is book 3 in the Atlanta Justice Series. I’ve read the other books in the series and I truly think they just keep getting better and better. Here, Ms Dylan shines in her complicated plot and vast cast of characters. Somehow, she has pulled all of these elements together to create a captivating legal thriller. Fans of this genre will not be disappointed! I love to read general mysteries/thrillers and I loved this one. The amount of legal information included was perfect— just enough to add to the story and really make it interesting. I highly recommend this novel! Rachel Dylan has done it again with her latest legal thriller! Great suspense, love and faith are woven into the characters and plot. I was kept on the edge of my seat and read this book within a night. It is a true testament to what a Christian suspense novel should be.

What a way to finish the series! I have enjoyed getting to know the two main characters first as friends of the main characters from previous books, as well as how they interact with eachother in this book. There are some twists and turns throughout the book as well as a electrifying ending. The only bad thing I can say about this book is that it is the last in the series. This author tells a wonderful, heartstopping story!

I enjoyed this book. Mia's world is forever changed when she finds the body of her friend and co-worker, murdered in his apartment. Shocked would be putting it mildly and the author does a great job of showing Mia's emotions. She is strong, determined and is certain she knows who the killer is.

Noah and Mia already know each other but in this case, it seems they have differing views. Noah knows the man Mia suspects didn't kill her friend. I enjoyed the legal aspects of it and that the author showed there are different types of law being practiced. There was defense, prosecution and corporate law (being a legal assistant, I found it refreshing that it wasn't all one sided). The pace of the book was steady and it kept my attention from start to finish.

It was a 4/5 for me.

As with the previous books in this series, this was a mixed read for me. On the one hand I love legal suspense, and it’s obvious this author is completely at home in the genre. There’s also no denying she knows how to get a story off to a cracker of a start. Nothing quite like finding one of your closest friends murdered in their own home!

On the other hand, telling rather than showing was the predominant writing style, sometimes to the point of redundancy, and for me, the characters never quite came to life. Too, I’m still not sold on the extra point-of-view characters beyond the hero and heroine. There weren’t as many in this book as in the previous one, but we still get Tyler Spencer, the defense attorney who agrees to defend Noah’s former ATF partner, and Owen Manley, the chief lawyer for the company Mia’s friend was representing before he was murdered. Owen’s point of view perhaps added a little to the tension in the story, but the scenes from Ty’s point of view often felt like they were padded out with unnecessary narrative, and they didn’t add anything essential to the story that couldn’t have been worked in through either Noah’s or Mia’s point of view.

As for the suspense plot, it maintained my interest and even provided a few surprises along the way. There’s something about the challenge of clearing an innocent person when the evidence is against them that fires me up! The romance I found less engaging, partly due to the aforementioned ‘telling’ style of writing, which meant that observations from other characters along the lines of “The tension between you and Mia was filling the air” were the only indications of said tension.

On the whole, I think I’m likely to pass on this author in the future, however readers who don’t mind the aspects of this author’s writing style that I’ve mentioned above will find this a solid romantic suspense read.

I have been waiting to read Mia's stories since I read book one in this series. I knew there was a back story to her, more than she's let on in the past, and I was excited to find out what it was. Also, this is the one character that really didn't have faith, and I was anxious to see how Dylan would incorporate that into the story. While I don't want to give away details - Dylan did a wonderful job of showing her growth, but also remaining honest unlike most new Christians. I found this to be so refreshing and probably the best part of the story. Okay, there were lots of good parts, but those really stuck out to me.

Dylan continues to amaze me with her ability to keep the suspense going, and make me interested in courtroom activities. Like I think I want to go sign up to be a juror, even though that's not something you can do around here. She just makes it so intriguing, and you feel like you are in the courtroom with the characters. With romance and action in the mix, it's near impossible to put the book down.

I have to admit, I wasn't really sure how this book was going to end up. I was pretty sure I had it all figured out, but Dylan added some nice twists that left me breathless. Even though Noah is probably my least favorite of the three guys (I mean they are all my favorites lol), I still enjoyed learning more about him. He and Mia both had issues to work through, which I think made them stronger as a couple. I actually like that they had differing views for different things during the story. It made their relationship more interesting, and the pull between them that much stronger.

Once again Dylan delivers a riveting page turner. I have loved getting to know these characters and reading this series. I can't wait to see what's next! I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Breach of Trust by Rachel Dylan is book 3 in the Atlanta Justice Series and although you don't HAVE to read the first two...I'd recommend that you read them. I've read all of them and I think that they have just gotten better with each one and it's becoming exceedingly harder to set the bar to have the next one be better. Each book has a complicated, if not an impossible cast of characters that she manages to mesh together into an awesome roller coaster of a legal storyline. Fans who love this kind of genre will definitely not be disappointed and you can tell that Ms. Dylan knows her legal stuff forwards and backward. I would recommend this to someone of any age.

I honestly had a lot of trouble getting into this book. Found myself skipping a lot. I just felt like there was a lot of nonessential material. I really wanted to like it cause the plot was good. Just a little slow at times, especially the beginning, for a suspense in my opinion.

I've been trying to get more into the suspense/criminal justice side of the Christian fiction world, so when I saw this book, I decided to give it a shot! Unlike other suspense books I've read, this book was more focused on the law side of things, rather than the actual criminal justice side. This made for a bit of a more confusing read than usual, since I didn't have as much experience with the field, but I'm glad to have learned some things about law from this book! This was book 3 in a series, but I couldn't tell that I had holes in my knowledge, which was really nice.

The book starts off with a murder, and it doesn't get any lighter from there! We follow the main characters, Mia and Noah, through one suspenseful situation after another, as they work through the case. No one is who they seem to be!

I really enjoyed Mia's character: she is a new Christian and is still trying to figure out what that entails. The romance was also really sweet and wasn't the main focus.

One thing I would be aware of is the heavy violence in this book: there are descriptive scenes of murder, guns, blood, suicide, and the like, so if that's not your cup of tea, then maybe avoid it. The suspense is well paced (although the apparent closings and the plot twists made the book seem longer each time it happened), as well as the romance.

Overall, I enjoyed this foray into legal justice fiction: it was really interesting, and I look forward to picking up more, since that I've had more exposure into the world!

Her friend is dead, will she be next?

I think Breach Of Trust is the book I've most looked forward to in this series. Mia and Noah have both intrigued me ever since they were introduced in the first Atlanta Justice book. And I was not disappointed, not by the characters and their chemistry, nor by the threads of mystery, or by the tense elements of legal suspense.

Once again, Rachel Dylan's personal knowledge of the ins and outs of the American legal system shown through in her stellar ability to paint a courtroom drama that keeps readers on the edge of their seats and glued to the page.

I do have to admit that I did guess the basics of the ultimate who and why of the mystery but Rachel Dylan also threw in some real curveballs that kept me, and her characters, hopping.

The romance was excellent and the suspense was taut, which, in my book, makes a truly enjoyable read. Whether you are a fan of the author or new to her books Breach Of Trust, and the previous books in the Atlanta Justice series, are well worth the time spent reading and I would recommend them.

4.5 stars out of 5. This book was a little predictable but I really enjoyed the journey along the way. I loved Noah and Mia's connection. I think Mia was a great female lead and loved that no matter what was thrown her way, she was able to come out stronger because of it. It broke my heart everything she had to overcome, but I am glad she did. I thought the twist with the law firm at the end was great and she had a new opportunity. I didn't see that one coming. I have really enjoyed these series and never feel that the religion in the book is over bearing or forced. It was a great suspense read and I look forward to her next one.

Wow what a story!! I did not want to put it down. I was not disappointed. Dylan weaves a story with action, suspense, mystery, intrigue, and romance. There is action from start to finish and the author will keep you turning pages and guessing until the very end.

This book grabs my attention.

But. I made a mistake once. And. That is the only time it will happen. The mistake?! Reading one of Rachel Dylan's books out of order!

So though I LOVE the start of this a full review will come once I am a billionaire with enough money to buy books. Or once I get my hands on the first books in this series.

Mia and Noah for the win!
I loved the tension between these characters as they work though the difficulties of being on opposite sides of a murder case and how they were able to remain professional. The romance was an interesting aside but I think the suspense and mystery were forefront, which I did not mind.
The writing is great and the reader gets to see other characters from the series come and go as the story develops.
All in all, a pleasantly suspenseful novel with a great cast of characters that you'll wish you could meet for coffee and a long chat
