LOVED IT! Could imagine myself reading to my kids when they were little and can now to my granddaughter at night. Perfect length and really a soothing read. nice illustrations as well . Absolutely a book I would recommend.
Gentle and lulling bedtime book that tucks the reader in for a night of sweet dreams. A book that will invite deep sleep and pleasant dreams.
Perfect little bedtime story for wee ones! All the critters little ones like are getting ready to go to sleep, or already asleep. The story is short and uncomplicated and peaceful! I love the illustrations! Bold and simple. I look forward to seeing the actual book as I am sure the colors will be magnificent! Wonderful book.
Wonderful bedtime story written and illustrated by Barroux. The story takes the reader on a quiet safari as the animals, and a young city boy gently fall asleep. The illustrations are splendid, cute, and relaxing.

Shhh! by Barroux
Book starts with colorful children's pages showing the darkness.
Simple sentences and some pages with no words leaving it to the child to imagine what's going on from the pictures.
Shows various animals and how they are going to sleep for the night.
Best part is about the sheep! Cute young children's story.
Received this review copy from Quarto Publishing Group - words & pictures from Netalley and this is my honest opinion.

A beautifully simple bedtime story for really young children with lovely illustrations.
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.
Shhh! by Barroux is an enchanting children's books published by Quarto dedicated in particular to toddler and for let them appreciate the moment of bed-time.
You know: a kid wouldn't never want to go to bed because life is too exciting and beautiful; a continuous surprise and the world a territory perfect for a little explorer.
Just: it is necessary some rest also for the bravest kid of this world.
And nothing will be more beauty than this hymn at a good-night starting with a kid to bed but traveling also in the world and so passing through a lot of animals and creatures, wild, and an important moment: when they go to sleep. We meet the lion but also the Giraffe, and many other important protagonists that we are sure will let you think your kid that, if they have some rest, maybe it is better to have some as well.
A dreaming book speaking of peaceful lands, where children are friends with animals and where nature is treated with respect, imagination and love.
I thank NetGalley and Quarto for this eBook.
This is a really cute, simple bedtime story for a very young child to help them get to the Land of Nod. I personally loved the moon tiptoeing to the sky and the lion brushing his teeth.
A very short, quiet little tale. I could have done with a few more animals and a few more pages to turn - it ended all to quickly!
Many thanks to NetGalley, Quarto Publishing and the author for the copy of an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Finding an excellent bedtime story to calm a child at the end of the day is not easy; there are many but they are not all good. This one is! With whimsical illustrations and a peaceful refrain of Shhh!, a child watches as night falls, the moon rises, an animal brushes their teeth, etc. It is time to go to sleep.
This book is lovely and would be a perfect end of the day read. Thanks to NetGalley and Quarto for this wonderful picture book.
If I'm reading a book to a child especially at bedtime I don't want to be sidetracked and imaginations excited and engaged.
Shhh! is a popular title but this is the first one I've read - you need look no further.
Beautifully illustrated and incorporating items and toys in the child's own bedroom and vocabulary.
Calming and charming.
Mellow and melodic.
The words vocalise the sound and thought of sleep.
All his toys are going through the same routine, even counting sheep.
Quiet and quieter still.
Even the cat on a nearby roof has succumbed to the timbre of tiredness.
Loved it, want it, how many more sleeps to christmas?
What a beautiful book. Simple illustrations, favourite animal characters and a calm peaceful bedtime routine.
This is a lovely book to share with young children getting into a bedtime habit. I could still read it and enjoy it with my older children and I think now, they would appreciate how simple and stunning the illustrations are.
The text is rhythmic and children will soon be reading along with their parents.
Such a wonderful book. It is on my list to buy for friends with young children.
This delightful bedtime story will lull even the most reluctant sleeper to sleep.
"Night falls...It is late. Close your eyes. Time to sleep."
A small child listens intently as the world shuts down around him. He envisons the moon tiptoeing up to the sky, a polar bear curled up on an ice floe readying itself for sleep, a lion in pyjamas brushing all of his teeth, and a herd of giraffes snugging down on soft, pillowy clouds to get some rest, just to name a few.
The child's whimsical imagination combined with the simple lyrical text are a perfect combo... one that is guaranteed to lull your child to sleep. The illustrations are vibrant, humorous, and very kid-friendly. The book soothes, calms and invites your child on a journey culminating in Shhhhhh! Sleep!
A really cute simple book. Perfect for bed times for the little ones. It has been written using simple sentences that make it easy for little ones to understand and follow and there are also pages with just pictures on them so you can also make up the story as you go. I loved the illustrations in this book they are just so cute and adorable.
The perfect book when one is getting ready for bed. Shh, it's time for both kids and animals alike to get ready for quiet time as night falls.
A nicely illustrated book for quieting down at bedtime. The lion brushing his teeth is pretty dang cute, and I appreciate the note that the sheep are not getting ready for bed, but sitting quietly as they wait to be counted. Just a pleasant, cute title.
Shhh! is a sweet picture book with simple one-dimensional illustrations which complement the story. Suitable to be read to kids at bedtime.

Beautifully illustrated book, calming and soothing words for bedtime. A great story, a little boy observing the world closing down at bedtime showing darkness and how others go to bed at night, leaves some things for children to imagine, a lovely bedtime read.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest review
Cute little book. Thought it might be good for my granddaughter but she was too old for it. We had fun reading it anyway. I recommend this for kids who can’t read yet. Thanks to NetGalley for the free download and to the author and publisher.
Cute bedtime story. More pictures than words though. Really nice illustrations. Good for sight words

words & pictures for my unbiased opinion of the book. This is a cute short bedtime story with great graphics and meaning. Shhh!
Shhh! by Barroux is a rather adorable little nighttime story for kids that is meant to help them fall asleep at night. Supposedly. And I think, depending on how a parent chooses to read it to their little ones, it can do precisely that. But it is by no means my favorite bedtime book. In an almost similar fashion to Goodnight Moon, Shhh! takes readers on a journey through a bunch of creatures and things that are all going to bed.
I had an enjoyable time reading this book and deeply enjoyed some of the illustrations, particularly that of the giraffes; no spoilers, everyone, but the way they're pictured sleeping is utterly adorable. In addition, I found the commentary on the sheep rather hilarious. Of course, that last bit I don't fully expect most young children to get the humor of.
All in all, it's a pretty cute bedtime story. There's nothing incredibly remarkable about it and I do wish that the phrase "shhh" had been used a bit more often as I feel that would have been more in line with the title and the vague "promise" that the book will get all the little ones to sleep. I dunno, I just feel like saying "shhh" repeatedly in a soft and whispery tone is likely to put anyone to sleep. Or maybe that's just me.
I was provided a free copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Beautiful illustrations for this story. I'd purchase this for little ones as the story isn't very long. I think my son at 3 is too old for it but it is a lovely story none the less.
A short and sweet story with a cute for the little ones. I loved the animal illustrations and it made my little one smile so it’s a win in my book!
Shhh! is a wonderful story of winding down kids to sleep. Its in the Good night style with each page ending with a 'shhh!'..
The illustrations are ultra cute. With simple language and consistency, you see great imaginationa t display. When we (kids and I) came to the whale song, we looked up those sounds and with the toucan's beak, we took a detour to Darwin's beaks of inches and a bit of human evolution after the giraffe taking a nap in the clouds in the story.
The age range is perfect.
The thing about night time stories for chrildren is thatyou are trying to get them to go to sleep. (Good luck with that). So, you want a mellow book, that slowly gets them to settle down, and go to sleep.

Kids do not want to go to sleep. I think they think there parents are parting all night, or perhaps they dont' think, but know that they would rather stay up late.
So, this is a cute book to help with the bedtime routine. The pictures are fun to look at, the boy in the story goes through the motinions of going to sleep, while all the animals of the world do the same.
And if this is the book that gets our kid to go to sleep, then I saw use it.
Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.
So lovely, night falls. Giraffes nap (in clouds)! This would be a great pairing with something like Shhhhh...Everybody’s Sleeping (Markes) for PJ storytime. Thanks to Netgalley for the e-ARC.
This is a fun and cute bedtime story for small children! I thought the art work was cute and the story was fun for my little ones. They really liked it and I enjoyed it too!
As the main character of this story is going to bed, the story tells and shows us what various animals are doing. It is a cute read that we will definitely come back to again!
This is a very sweet, nicely illustrated bedtime story. It is time for bed and from the moon to the stuffed animals in the room, everyone is slowing down and getting ready for bed. The text is lyrical and slow paced. I enjoyed the illustrations with the large brightly coloured animals. I would have rated this one higher, but the ending was a bit abrupt for me, but I understand why the author chose to write it that way. My granddaughter liked this one. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book upon request. The rating, ideas and opinions shared are my own.
Such a fun bedtime story! Whimsical art and an adorable plot. My toddler loves this book and it makes bedtime go so smoothly. We look forward to reading this book over and over again.
With creative artwork and gentle prose Shhh! is just the right length to read at bedtime. The pictures are super cute and include giraffes using clouds as pillows and a polar bear curled up to sleep.
Shhh! is a simple story about going to sleep. A little boy lies in his bed, snuggling his favorite animals, while the world around him prepares to tuck in for the night, just as he should.
Definitely a book that is geared to much younger children, perhaps the board book set (newborn to maybe five or so), and a great, quick bedtime story. The illustrations appear to be watercolor and pencil, vibrant and adorable, and perfectly suited to this cute little book.
What happens when night falls and all is quiet? A little boy tucked in bed, time to close your eyes, time to sleep. The moon tiptoes up to the sky...let’s count sheep.....close your eyes, time to sleep. The very cute and colorfully illustrated book has a sing song whisper to it which is great for winding down a toddler at night. Highly recommend.
Cute bedtime book for children! I have three young children under the age of 5 and we all enjoyed this bedtime read!
