Description

#1 in all its categories. Amazon bestseller in Kindle free store.  Colorado Gold MYSTERY AWARD WINNER.  Daphne du Maurier Suspense Finalist.

“Outside, the thousand-dollar suit; inside, the storm.”

Even after the accidental death of his small son – especially after the death of his son – Chief Inspector Gray James solves each and every case with perfection and startling efficiency. Leading him to an atavistic personal truth: he needs the next case, like he did the last, and the one before that. That someone has to die to provide this objectionable fix bothers him, but these oscillations between calm and obsession beat the alternative: to once again care about what happens.

One morning and one case change all that.

Montreal glitters in the snow: the cafes and bistros bustling with activity even on the coldest days, the cobbled streets made slippery by the ice, and the mighty St. Lawrence jetting eastward through the bottom of the city. But a mutilated corpse swings from a tree in an urban beach park, the victim’s crumpled suit rippling in the wind like the white-tipped surface of the adjacent river. Instigating a sequence of events that unleash the hurricane inside Gray. And make him face what he has most avoided: his hand in the storm.

A Note From the Publisher

Ritu Sethi was born in India and came to Canada at the ripe age of four. She won the Colorado Gold Mystery Award for His Hand In the Storm (formerly titled Coded for Murder) and was a Daphne finalist the same year.

Ritu used to stay up late to watch black and white classic mystery movies on tv at age twelve. By twenty, she discovered PD James and the psychological mystery. Then Elizabeth George (with whom she's done a master writing class), Louise Penny and countless others.

Ritu writes suspense, mysteries, and thrillers -- books with endings which make the world a little more ordered, a less more fair.

She needs beaches, coffee (a patch for a soda pop addiction), and mysteries to survive. After living in Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal -- all great cities -- her heart lingers in Hawaii.
