We all look for a way to improve our health and well being, especially through the foods we eat. Keto is the current trend in making a difference by controlling your diet. I had done some research into Keto and learned that it is relatively easy to adjust and follow your diet but difficult to plan out a complete makeover that you can enjoy.
This cookbook gives many tips and tricks on how to complete that makeover then gives you several excellent recipes that will keep you from feeling cheated when you start missing your favorite snacks. I found it very easy to follow and get excellent results without spending all day in the kitchen. This is an excellent book for anyone who is serious about Keto dieting. I'm gifting it to my support group.
Given the current craze of ketogenic diet books, this cookbook will be a popular addition to any public library collection or home cook's library. I'm sure our patrons will enjoy the beautiful photography and creative recipes.
The Keto All Day Cookbook is a very bright, enticing cookbook with loads of pictures and a detailed index for quick reference. The recipes are formatted for easy reading and include the prep time, nutrition information and user friendly icons to identify dairy free, nut free, egg free etc. Although the author doesn't go into detail about the keto diet itself, she does provide an icon to easily identify the Induction-friendly phase at a glance.
The recipes look simple to follow and only require a keto friendly stocked pantry. Although the author doesn't provide resources in the book itself, she points the reader to her blog at https://ketodietapp.com/blog where they can find keto menus, free diet plans and even apps to track their intake.
Overall I found this a useful reference for the experienced dieter as well as a supplement to other keto lifestyle resources.
This is a great book for jumping into the Keto world.
Author and creator of the KetoDiet blog Martina Slajerova has put all of her best receipts and some new ones, in this very informative book. There are options for every meal of the day, as well as including snacks. These are desgined to help guide you through the "keto" lifestyle.
Martina has included yummy recipes for drinks and desserts, and an amazing looking and sounding Cookie Dough Mousse, which I am really looking forward to trying.
So many options to look at in helping you navigate the "Keto" world.
I am really looking forward to giving this a go.
I really love this cookbook!! The recipes look AMAZING!! The pictures are beautiful and it has nutritional facts too! I'm so excited to use it! I had gestational diabetes last pregnancy and I plan to eat low carb during my next pregnancy so this will be a tremendous help!!
The first thing that caught my attention was the neutral peach and white color scene. It was very appealing rather than bright as some other cookbooks have been. The introduction is a wonderful place to find some of Matina's favorite recipes, she even gives page numbers. It was a great way to start off the book.
The "how to use this book" section is great. It gives very clear icons to identify characteristics of each recipe. She notes that things like ricotta cheese must be full fat unless noted. These are just some tips and information you need before going through the recipes.
The layout of each recipe is so easy to follow. I love that the ingredients are on the left side of the page rather than on top. I do not have to flip back through pages while making something. All the images used are clear and very appealing. The best part? The nutrition facts are given at the bottom of each page, though she notes they may change based on what brand of ingredients you use which is to be expected. The meals here are much more appetizing than other keto recipe books I have read through. I will be making many of these.
Overall, this is a fantastic book for someone who already follows keto. It does not give specific information about what Keto is or how to start so this is not a beginner book unless used as a supplement. I think the combination of the color scheme and layout alongside the appetizing recipes makes this a must buy book.
This is the exact book I’ve been looking for. I know so many people who swear by keto, but I’d only really got an understanding of what you couldn’t eat.
Instead, this shows me what you can eat at all different times of the day. There’s items full of flavour and ones full of heat. What I loved most of all, is that the book predicts what you’ll crave and gives you alternatives.
This book is good resource whether you follow a ketogenic lifestyle or, like me, you're just keen to reduce the processed carbohydrates and sugar in your diet. With gorgeous photographs, full nutritional breakdowns of each recipe and handy tags for dietary requirements, finding a recipe for your needs is easy. Each recipe has a nice intro, which I always think gives a cookbook that added personality, and the steps are easy to follow. Most recipes have quite a few ingredients, but if the butter chicken I tried is anything to go by the little added effort is well worth it. Some recipes call for harder to find ingredients, such as liquid stevia or almond flour, but these are used in many different recipes so would be worthwhile cupboard additions. I can definitely see some of these recipes becoming family favourites, and I'm excited to try the cookie dough mousse!
The best keto cookbook I've read - and I've read over a hundred.
I started my keto journey four years ago before keto was a 'thing'. I quickly lost 75 lbs in a few short months and committed to the process. Unfortunately, I fell off the wagon and slowly gained back about 50 of those pounds over several years, and now travel full time. Keto isn't the easiest for me to follow while traveling (especially to tropical countries), so I'm always on the lookout for a keto cookbook that fits my needs.
What are my personal keto needs? Easy to make, simple ingredients, and something that appeals to my palate.
A lot of the keto cookbooks I've read miss on several of these requirements. Either they have weird ingredients (that I'm familiar with in North America, but not elsewhere), or they're repeats of the free recipes I've found online elsewhere. The most recent keto cookbook I've reviewed wasn't even keto!
The Keto All Day Cookbook fulfills all these needs of a devoted keto fan, and more. Yes, I've seen some of these recipes before (there are only so many veggies you can use if you're strict keto), and I'm familiar with the concept of 'induction' (the first few days, or weeks, where your body acclimatizes to burning fat instead of carbs). This cookbook covers them all, without the mumbo-jumbo that an experienced keto-tarian already knows. Added bonus - there are a few vegetarian recipes!
Highly recommended for experienced keto eaters in need of some new recipes, or newbies to keto that only need recipes and have a handle on the needs of this diet,
We were so looking forward to reading and using this Keto cookbook, but couldn't because I downloaded it onto my kindle which doesn't accept acsm files. I am so sorry I couldn't do a regular review and hopefully can find another copy of it in the future.
This is a really decent Keto cookbook. Lovely, full-age pictures! Excited to try several of the recipes.
I really like this book. If I’m honest I had no idea what the keto diet was but keep hearing about it, it’s low carb essentially. Looking through the recipes in this book I was pleasantly surprised with the dishes on offer and how appetising they look. I can’t wait to try the cauliflower rice with halloumi which looks amazing. Pleasantly surprised.
Fair Winds Press and NetGalley provided me with an electronic copy of The Keto All Day Cookbook: More Than 100 Low-Carb Recipes That Let You Stay Keto For Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. I was under no obligation to review this book and my opinion is freely given.
This cookbook contains recipes that are designed for a Keto-friendly diet. The page layouts are very attractive and include both photographs and nutritional information, so that readers can get a true picture of the finished dishes. Divided into sections including Basics, Breakfasts, Snacks and Appetizers, Soups and Salads, Lunches, Dinners, Drinks and Desserts, and Extras, The Keto All Day Cookbook is organized in a logical fashion that follows the traditional progression of a meal.
Somewhat new to the idea of a Keto diet, I was surprised to learn how involved the recipes can be, often including ingredients that may be unfamiliar to some readers. The Keto diet is one that I would not recommend to readers without the advice of a doctor, but using some of the recipes in this book as occasional meals can help inspire a new way of eating. Not all Keto recipes are high fat and many are nutritionally balanced between fat, protein, and low carbohydrates.
The breakfast recipes include too many variations on egg dishes and not enough of anything else. Many of the appetizers and snacks are heavy, laden with creamy butter and eggs. I would like to try the Peri Peri Roasted Nuts (p. 49), as they are nutritionally balanced and a great way to combat those mid-day cravings. In the soup and salad section, Keto variations of Hungarian Goulash (p. 66) and Chicken Caesar Salad with Poached Egg (p. 72) are interesting twists of classic favorites. The low starch lunches are mostly labor intensive, making preparation the day before a key component for success. The recipe that I would most like to make is the Mexican Chicken Bowls (p. 85), as the avocado-feta salsa that makes up the base of the dish is a well seasoned and flavorful backdrop to the marinated chicken. In the high fat dinners section, there are vegetarian dishes as well as meat ones. Broccoli Mushroom Alfredo Casserole (p. 94) will have eaters not missing the meat in this well balanced and tasty dish. Healthy Fish Sticks with Tartar Sauce (p. 97) can be made kid friendly or lunch appropriate as Fish Tacos, with its slaw providing crunch and tartar sauce for its creaminess. Keto Kung Pao Chicken (p. 114) has an explosion of flavor with its marinated chicken and nutritionally sound vegetables. There are some amazing sugar-free drinks and desserts, like Chocolate and Raspberry Truffles (p. 142) and Creamy Dark Hot Chocolate (p. 154). Finally, the author ends the cookbook with sauces and marinades, the perfect accompaniments to many different dishes.
Some of the ingredients in this cookbook are expensive and many not be readily available, so that is something that readers should keep in mind when choosing The Keto All Day Cookbook. I found a lot of the main dishes to be intriguing and I look forward to trying some of the recipes, although I am skeptical about making a switch to a Keto lifestyle.
A book to help the fully committed to enjoy a keto lifestyle.
The keto diet is very low in carbs, moderate in protein and relatively high in "good" fats. The ideal is to reach and maintain a state of ketosis by eschewing carbs. In ketosis, fats are broken down into ketones which are used by the body as fuel. Thus it makes eminent sense to have a cookbook covering all meals and snacks.
This is the author's fifth book and is essentially a greatest hits collection with some new recipes.
The book is well written, and with enthusiasm. The author is an excellent evangelist for the keto lifestyle. It includes nutritional information and very good photography of each finished dish.
Some recipes use common ingredients. Others necessitate the use of keto substitutes, sometimes heavily so e.g. the recipe for keto sourdough buns. So not for the halfhearted!
I’m well-acquainted with the keto diet at this point. I’ve been following it for almost 1 year to help combat my chronic migraines, so while there is good info for those new to keto in this book, my focus was on the recipes. There are quite a few new ones in here (new to me at least) that will help add some more variety to my day-to-day for myself and my family. It’s definitely a good one to add to your keto library!
This book is super user friendly and has a wide variety of recipes with a lot of tips. What I also love about this cookbook is that every recipe has a picture! They look super yummy.
Excellent Keto recipe book, it has a great selection of recipes from around the world. It’s well laid out, has good pictures and has nutritional info and macros for each recipe.
There is no real introduction to Keto in this book but that’s ok, if you are at the stage of needing recipes I would say you have at least a basic knowledge. This author has a couple of other books and an app so knows her stuff, her recipes are tasty and easy to prepare.
I would recommend this book, I am going to buy a copy for my mother in law who is also Keto as it has some lovely recipes in it.
I am a huge fan of Martina's blog, Keto Diet App and have the app on my iPad. I was so excited to flip through this book and see the new recipes she has to offer. And let me say this cookbook doesn't disappoint!! I love that there is a nice selection of international dishes from Italy, Mexico, France, India and so forth. I also like her "In 3 ways" recipe, for example, she shares how to make chocolate 3 ways. The first thing on my list to make is the waffle pizza! YUM Thank you, Martina, for another excellent cookbook.
Very well set out with a tempting selection of over one hundred recipes, this is a super book. There is a brief introduction and an explanation of how to use the book followed by eight chapters of recipes from homemade basics to desserts and sauces. Icons are used for quick reference to label recipes if they are dairy-free, vegetarian, nut-free, ideal for intermittent fasting, egg-free, high in electrolytes, nightshade-free and/ or induction-friendly. I think the photos are a real bonus as they are attractively presented for each recipe and make them more tempting. Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for an ARC.
Great Keto cookbook! I really appreciate: icons for nut free/ dairy free/ vegetarian, etc; grams/ oz listed along side of cups needed in the recipe; nutrition facts listed, and the photos of what the recipes really look like. I also like how some of the recipes have variations listed (like cauliflower rice 3 ways). I do need to pick up a few things for my pantry - like ghee and psyllium husk powder. Our favorite recipe so far is Ham and Cheese Bread Rolls. My hubbie wants the crispy chicken wings next, and when I feel adventurous, the Vegetable Rose Pie looks really cool!
(Also posted on Amazon and Goodreads)
I am still learning the keto diet. So I was grateful to be granted this book to let me explore some recipes for each meal time. I have not completely converted my carb dependent family but it is nice to know there are good recipes out there to choose from. I look forward to trying more of them in the near future.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book provided by NetGalley
Great, easy to follow, tasty treats that keep you in keto for the long haul! It is a keeper in my kitchen!
Lots of great recipes for the keto lifestyle. Very beautifully illustrated! The fonts and the pictures really help make the book look classy. The personal touches at the start of each recipe are the perfect introduction.
There are some great recipes in this book, and the pictures included within its pages are absolutely beautiful. I wouldn't recommend this for beginners, as you need some cursory knowledge of ketosis itself before using this book, but the cookbook does include some helpful designations and a legend that will allow you to categorize everything you're eating. It would be nice if it included meal plans or grocery lists, but on the flip side, I appreciate the variety of the recipes and the categorizations. I would recommend this for anyone looking to make healthy, delicious keto recipes.
Thank you so much for the keto coobook. I have a lot of weight to lose and I am looking forward to using some of these recipes and hopefully it will bring me the success I want. The recipes look delicious and easy to make.
Martina Šlajerová's new cookbook Keto All Day, is just that, a nice collection of recipes covering the three main meals of the day with additional recipes covering snacks, drinks, desserts and sauces all adhering to the Keto diet concept. Keto in its simplest form is eating foods that are low-carb and high in good fats. Šlajerová does a nice job covering the basics of the diet but this is not designed to teach keto but to offer interesting recipes for the keto follower. Each recipe is laid out with the detailed ingredients, easy to follow instructions and a brief intro that includes variations and tips. At the bottom of each recipe she has included the nutritional facts which I appreciated. I like the creativity of the recipes and the pictures included are very appealing. My boyfriend and I tried the bacon wrapped chorizo meatloaf that was very tasty and loaded with flax in it. I look forward to trying the rest.
As someone who is new to the keto lifestyle, this book was a very helpful with lots of recipes. I really enjoyed that the recipes were easy to follow and that there were tips to help you stick to your new lifestyle. The pictures of the food looked delicious! The layout was great and I'm especially looking forward to making the keto tortilla recipe, since not being able to have tortillas for tacos was a huge deal breaker for me not trying to keto diet before.
This was a huge help for me. I've been looking for some simple keto recipes so happy I found this book.
I absolutely loved this book, great introduction, a how to use this book and straight into the recipes which I must say all look delicious. Some Keto books I take one look at and find them far to hard to get interested in but this one was a winner. SO much so that my local department store just advertised it and I went straight down and bought it.
Now to convince my husband to give the recipes a go. Plenty of lunch ideas for him, which was what he was struggling with - what can I eat for lunch?
So easy and straightforward to follow.
Thanks to Netgally and Quarto Publishing Group - Fair Winds Press for the opportunity to read and review. 5* recommendation from me.
This cookbook is filled with a lot of great recipes. It is easy to read and there are a ton of pictures, which I find to be very helpful. There is also a legend that is easy to read that helps you identify key factors of the keto diet in each recipe. There is an easy to follow index in the back of the of the cookbook as well. This is definitely a great cookbook to pick-up if you are on the keto diet and looking for easy meals to make.
This is a great book for the Keto Lifestyle and those who are beginners or old pros. There are plenty of new tips for those who may be in a rut and need a few fresh ideas. I know I was able to glean a lot of knowledge from this copy and look forward to using it in my own Keto Lifestyle. Love the gorgeous pictures with the helpful tips.
Thanks you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for the chance to review.
really like this cook book!
easy to follow recipes to keep you motivated and on Keto.
thanks netgalley!
Gorgeous cookbook! The recipes are healthy and generally include whole foods. There is a lovely variety of recipes and most are accompanied by gorgeous photography. I can't wait to try some of these recipes!
Martina is a name to know in the keto community. Her recipes are some of the very best. This cookbook is a visual delight. It is filled with a wonderful variety of recipes that you know aren't going to disappoint. It was a really nice finishing touch to have condiments added at the end. This is a must have if you are following a keto lifestyle/diet.
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
It's really helpful to find a cookbook specifically for the keto diet. There's a definite lack of sensible easy recipes available that work with the regime so this book was a lifesaver!
This book is super user friendly and provided a wide variety of recipes, tips, and pictures! Great for those interested in starting or maintaining a Keto diet.
A very insightful book for of good and healthy recipes. The illustrations in this book were so good.
If you follow my reviews, you know I have tons of food intolerances. I try to learn from different diets to make my own recipes, with what I can eat.
I do love my pictures, to visualize what the final product is supposed to look like. This book could have more pictures, even if those who are present are beautiful and appetizing.
There are icons (dairy-free, nut-free, egg-free, nightshade-free), vegetarian...), those I loved. Even optional ingredients, suggested sides or alternatives have their icons, but in gray.
The recipes look simple, with easy-to-find ingredients. Many I couldn’t find a way to substitute ingredients, but that’s okay. Maybe you’ll find them yummy, even if I can’t eat them!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A great resource and tool for those that follow a Keto diet or are thinking of following the Keto lifestyle. Enjoyable and easy to use this will quickly become a go to cookbook
After watching the video on Netflix about the Keto diet, I wanted to see how easy or hard it was to live off of this diet, I must say even as easy as this cookbook gave instructions, there is no way, I could do it daily. I guess I am a huge grain eater. LOL
Martina Slajerova knows how to make recipes easy to read and follow, each recipe is very detailed and explained very easy, so anyone could follow and the book has great pictures.
Now, as for the diet itself, there are ingredients in here I have never heard of or even seen before in my lifetime and that is saying something because I have always used harder recipes with ingredients that made me Google or look up in books, but quite a few of these are just really questionable. I am sure Amazon has every ingredient that is offered in this cookbook, but the thing is I am not an online grocery shopper so if my local Kroger doesn’t carry the ingredient then it’s a no go for me and some of these ingredients are not at my local market.
I love a good cook book and the fact that it was Keto made me want to check it out even more. The recipes seemed a bit complex. So if you're looking for quick meals, this is not your book. There were great pictures and some of the meals looked positively yummy. I would recommend this book for the experienced Keto-inspired cook.
The Keto All-Day Cookbook is perfect for experienced Keto dieters looking for new and innovative recipes. It assumes the reader knows the science behind the Keto plan. That being said, there seems to be a great deal of variety in the recipes, and some very unique combinations. I would have liked a few more photos, as I am a visual reader. I have minimal familiarity with the keto science, so I will refer to this cookbook as I gain more knowledge and experience.
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.
Very interesting and informative book for those interested in taking part in this diet. Lots of information and very thorough
Easy to follow recipes that actually turn out as good as they look. I found myself utilizing this book more than once when planning menus for the week.
With the popularity of the Keto way of eating, I've come across no shortage Keto cookbooks. Martina Slajerova's The Keto All Day Cookbook presents a lovely designed cookbook that features unique recipes from soups, sauces, lunch, dinner and everything in between. I really liked the layout of the book and the lovely colors used throughout. And I appreciate the addition of photos as I've come across so many cookbooks without actual photos. Another nice feature is the inclusion of macronutrients. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing a digital copy for review purposes. For anyone looking to add a little variety to their keto/low-carb lifestyle, this will be a handy reference to add to their collection.
This book is well set out and beautifully illustrated. It’s a great beginners guide to the keto recipes and lifestyle.
First let me say that I've never reviewed a cookbook before. I hope that I do a good job on this one. And I honestly don't plan to review many (or any) other cookbooks on my blog at this time.
Next I want to talk a bit about keto. Keto isn't just a diet that you put yourself on. Now I'm no expert and I highly recommend to anyone interested in starting keto do your research first. This is not a "diet" that you can just wing. See "keto" is actually a process within the body--ketosis. Our brains typically use glucose (from carbs) as fuel, but when carbs are deprived the brain has to find a way to be fed and so there's a process that happens within your body where your liver turns fat (consumed fat or existing body fat) into ketones which your brain can then use as fuel in the place of glucose. Therefore, keto is a HIGH fat, MODERATE protein, and LOW carb diet necessary to maintain the process of ketosis within the body. I wouldn't recommend starting keto without at the bare minimum, this basic knowledge.
That being said, my husband did keto last year after he researched extensively. He started January of 2018 and lost just shy of 50 pounds by June. From June until October he maintained his weight loss. October is a busy month for us with 5 family members having birthdays. Then there's Thanksgiving and Christmas in November and December, so he decided to take those months off. He gained back 20 pounds within that time period and felt miserable. I was breastfeeding at the time and it isn't recommended to limit carbs so strictly while breastfeeding so I decided to wait until I weaned my son to start. December 26th I started my keto journey. Where I was losing one pound every 3-4 weeks while breastfeeding and postpartum, I've lost 15 pounds in 10 weeks. There's not really any negatives for me with doing keto. Sure I love carbs and sugar as much as the next person, but the food is actually delicious on keto. I stay full and not constantly hungry like previous times in my life when I've tried to "diet". And you can still have bread-like dishes by substituting almond flour or dessert by using sugar alternatives like Swerve (erythritol).
Enter The Keto All-Day Cookbook. I'd already meal-planned 3 months worth of dinners before I received this cookbook so I did have to make some adjustments to that plan in order to actually try some of these dishes before reviewing the book. (If you're interested in hearing how I meal-plan so far in advance let me know and maybe I'll do a post about it.) My immediate reaction to the cookbook is that these recipes are a bit intensive and complicated, and some of the ingredients are odd and not ones that I either have on hand or am interested in buying (psyllium husk anyone?). I'm sure those ingredients are necessary and have been tested with and without them to ensure the best recipes. So I found myself skipping several recipes that I would have otherwise been interested in trying. I thought about making the recipes and just leaving those ingredients out, but I assumed that they were there for a reason that I didn't need to mess with.
I do particularly like the layout of each recipe. There's a picture with almost every single dish--which is always a pet peeve of mine with cookbooks (not having pictures). There's a section with easily identifiable icons for things like allergies or vegetarian dishes. She's included a tips section or just general information about each recipe. There's the recipe itself. Sometimes there will be additional notes. Nutrition facts are listed--exactly the things you need to know most when on a keto diet.
My biggest negative to The Keto All-Day Cookbook is the complexity of the recipes. I need fast, simple, easy. I like to provide my family with delicious meals, but with two children three and under, I need quick and easy. And while the recipes that I did try from the cookbook were all delicious, I just prefer simple overall, and I've found that more from just searching Pinterest. (Check out my Keto Board where I make comments on the pins I've tried with how they've worked for me or any adjustments I've made.) The Keto All-Day Cookbook gets 4 Stars. Have you read The Keto All-Day Cookbook? What did you think? Let me know!
I received a temporary digital copy of this book from Netgalley for an honest review.
Another great keto cookbook by Martina. My only complaint is I would prefer a cookbook with all new recipes since I own a lot of her others and quite a few overlap.
The Keto All Day Cookbook is full of a variety of recipes that are both pleasing and satisfying. I like that there is a lunch section because that is where I struggle a lot when trying to come up with new keto recipes. There are also a lot of different ethnic dishes in here which I appreciate because I like changing up what I am eating and I enjoy foods from all around the world. I think I would eat nearly anything in this book. The Keto All Day Cookbook is the perfect cookbook for someone falling a ketogenic diet or who just want some new healthy recipes.
A perfect cookbook for a person on the Keto Diet
very simple and beautiful. Any one can make these recipes.
This is truly a great Keto cookbook- with a bunch of useful foundational recipes and then recipes to get you through cravings. None of the ingredients are too weird or hard to find, no scouring obscure websites. This is easy to eat, easy to make food to help fuel your diet.
I liked having options for keto snacks and lunches. Having a protein-based food instead of sugary snack that causes an afternoon sugar "crash" while teaching is helpful!
This cookbook provides recipes helping you stay on your Keto diet because it can be difficult to find the right food on the diet, but with the yummy recipes in this cookbook it makes it easier. The photos and yummy recipes help
