Description

Torrin’s simple mission is seriously complicated when he finds Arrista, a lovely Sarronti female, in need of rescue. The Sarronti resent the Outcasts and continually sabotage their efforts to build a settlement on the primitive planet. But Arrista isn’t just any Sarronti. She’s the personal servant of one of the most powerful Sarronti. The information Arrista can provide would be vitally important to the Outcasts, so Torrin is ordered to use their mutual attraction to question her. Arrista has been taught to fear and mistrust the savage Outcasts, so why does she find Torrin so fascinating, so desirable? It’s not just his muscular body and rugged features. He is kinder and more protective than any male she has ever known. She is drawn to him by a force so compelling it leaves her no choice but surrender. She wants him, needs him, but can she trust him not to break her heart? Note to Readers: This book contains detailed descriptions of sizzling passion only suitable for mature readers. Certain plot elements carry on from book to book. Though Assassin can be read as a standalone, it’s more fun to read the series in order.

Outcasts: Assassin is available for purchase in print and ebook formats.

This was a great read, with a touching storyline about gaining freedom of self. I really enjoyed the characters and loved the battle cats too!

Even though this was the first book that I read in this series, I was able to enjoy the book. Torrin has been commanded to take Arrista back to his cabin. Torrin is the only one that helps Arrista feel safe since he rescued her from the Sarronti general. Torrin is drawn to and feels protective of Arrista, Torrin doesn't want to take advantage of Arrista who has suffered in the past. There is growing danger from the general and from Arrista's former employer. I received a free copy of this book from the author. I enjoyed reading this book very much. This is a good suspenseful scifi romance. There are plenty of steamy scenes, but I prefer scenes that fade out. Even though there is a growing feeling of danger, the main emphasis in this book is the romance between Torrin and Arrista. I like this book

Thank you Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Torrin and Arrista make a great addition to the Outcast series. Torrin is a Cyborg warrior who rescues Arrista from a life of servitude. She in turn must learn to find new purpose outside of serving a master. Torrin teaches her to value her new freedom and explore the attraction between them. I liked the romance although I thought they rushed the whole Mating thing. Other than that can't wait to read the next installment.

The Outcast Assassin Torrin and Arrista a Sarronti Niffal are two people who are both looked down on by their kind. Arrista is deeply indebted to Torrin for saving her from the evil General Alonov. She is taken above ground and introduced to a new world where she is free to make her own choices. But she has only ever been a servent. She doesn’t know how to handle these changes. She hides a deadly secret. Will it ruin their chance at love. I wish I had read the first three books in this series. I kind of got lost in all the recaps of what happened before. I like the world building. It was very rich in detail. I really like the battle cats. There was lots of intrigue and mystery surrounding the Sarronti. I received this ARC from Netgalley, I’m leaving an honest review

I have been enjoying this offshoot to the battleborn series quite alot and as I expected I enjoyed Outcasts as well, although I am only giving this a 4 as opposed to my normal 5 star reviews for Cyndi Friberg's work. The reason being that their were several typos in this edition that bothered my quite a bit.( blame my ocd) lol. That being said I found the plot line moved very well and continued to advance the primary story line of the series while providing a satisfiying story all by itself. If asked I would definately recommend Outcasts: Assassin to anyone who asks.

A very intense story. I totally love the cats and all the magical things going on in this book. We have two survivors who find out they only need each other to be whole. I really enjoyed book 4. I was given this book by netgally and was the first I have read by this author. I will so look up the others in this series.

I am enjoying this story line totally - I have read a couple already. They stand alone but I enjoy all the characters. Wish the books were easier to have for my store but I do recommend the author to some of my customers with e readers

It's not hard to feel the protectiveness Torrin feels towards Arrista, nor is it hard to feel the terror and confusion as Arrista first deals with life among the Outcasts. With all she's been through - which is even more than the reader originally thought - and with all she's facing, she has a lot of healing to do. And a lot of self discovery. But the feelings she and Torrin have for each other threaten to impede that progress. If they are true mates, they may need to find a short cut to good mental health!

Torrin and Arrista show parallels in being a vital part of a group, yet being alienated from that group, even looked down upon. They have pasts where they have had to do horrible things, and they were both individuals who by their biology and place in their culture were destined to be alone. These parallels continue to draw them together.

Arrista beings to play a bigger role in the conflict between the Sarronti and the Outcasts. She makes alliances within Sarronti territory from outside, and finds sneaky ways of getting information. They know there is a danger lurking about, but what is the true threat and what is distraction is not clear. And, as with life, the main danger with the Sarronti is not the only difficulty Arrista has to deal with on top of relationships, finding her place in the world, and dealing with her trauma. There's always more!

The most heartwarming parts of the book are with the battle cats. Arrista's past assistance in raising the battle cats makes her extra helpful in raising and healing the adorable Wenny and Luppa. And any other battle cats that may wander their way!

Assassin (Outcasts Book 4) is a well-written, fascinating book by Cyndi Friberg. It is a sci-fi romance and is a part of the outcast series. The story is set on a planet where the elf-like creatures known as Sorronti live in the underground.
When the battle-born Rodyte came to the planet, they didn't find anyone and decided to live there. When the Sorronti came to know of the invaders, they tried everything they could to force the outcasts off their planet.
The story progresses as Torrin is given the task to rescue their females kidnapped by the Soronti and brings another Sorronti, Arissta back who had been beaten by the Soronti general when she tried to help the Rodyte females.
They both feel a physical attraction, but Torrin doesn't act on it as he wants to give Arrista time to adapt to the change in her life. But there is no time as the politics in the Sorronti are changing with another plan to attack and destroy the outcasts.
The plot is exciting and the characters well developed. It's hard not to like the characters. Everyone is so different from each other but are connected by the same hate of war and loss. There were some things which confused me about the battle cats. It felt like they knew everything but waited till the last moment to tell them. There was so much talk of the attack, but when it happened, there wasn't any action compared to the talks. Maybe that will happen in the next book.
Otherwise the book was good. It certainly lived up to my expectations. Highly recommended to everyone who likes Romance mixed with fantasy and strong characters.

I enjoyed this book. The world building and plot is excellent. Torrin is an Outcast but one different from all others. Told he wasn't compatible to the available females as a mate he thinks he's to spend his life alone. Alone until he rescued a Sarronti female. Arrista is a bit more than she appears. The many twists in their relationship made for a great book. I love the idea of the Karron. They added a unique twists to the story. I look forward to reading more books in this series.

ASSASSIN is the fourth instalment in Cyndi Friberg’s adult OUTCAST sci-fi, fantasy, romance series. This is Ontarian/Bilarrian hybrid assassin Torrin Havier, and Niffal Sarronti female Arrista’s story line. ASSASSIN can be read as a stand alone but for back story and cohesion I recommend reading the series in order. The OUTCASTS series is a spin-off from the authors BATTLE BORN series. Arrista was first introduced in TRACKER book 3.

SOME BACKGROUND: The humanoid aliens known as Rodytes needed a home and settled on two uninhabited planets they would name Scarlett and Rhett. Without any available mates, the male only Rodytes sent teams of Outcasts to kidnap any and all human females in an attempt to repopulate and find mates for their struggling males but procreation came at a price including the need for genetically matched DNA, a mutual metamorphosis, and magical intervention. A test for compatibility is filed and there may be as many as five males matched to a single female DNA. Outcasts were battle born-their mothers were Bilarrian prisoners forced to breed, with their Rodyte captors, in the hopes of restoring magic to the Rodyte people.

Told from several third person perspectives including Torrin and Arrista ASSASSIN follows the building relationship between Ontarian/Bilarrian hybrid Torrin Havier, and Niffal Sarronti female Arrista. Rescued from the Sarronti ‘underground’ alongside human female Heather (Tracker #3) Arrista believes she, along with Sarronti General Alonov’s son Farlo, are prisoners of the Rodyte Overlord Kage Razel but meeting Torrin Havier, an enhanced Ontarian/Bilarrian hybrid found our heroine hoping for something more. A palpable sexual attraction between our leading couple is met with reservation and worry when it is discovered that Arrista is not in control of all of her actions. What ensues is the building relationship between Arrista and Torrin, and the potential fall-out Farlo’s would-be rescuers have something else planned for our story line heroine.

Arrista is a Sarronti Niffal-the lowest class of citizens, considered slaves to the people in charge. Believing she is meant to serve and obey Arrista struggles with her place in Rodyte society including the freedom she is accorded by Torrin Havier, freedom she believes comes at a cost. Torrin knows that Arrista is his fated mate but convincing the Overlord is another matter. Genetic testing aside, Torrin and Arrista find themselves immediately attracted to one another but Torrin is willing to take it slow in the face of events in Arrista’s past. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and strong secondary and supporting characters including Arton and Lily (Heretic #1), Rex and Thea (Maurader #2), Xorran and Sara (Tracker #3), Torak, and Overlord Kage Razel; Arrista’s sister Merella, mistress Lady Isolaund, Farlo and General Alonov, as well as battle cat Certrice and her cubs Luppa and Wenny,

The world building continues to focus on the Rodytle’s struggle to find suitable and genetically matched mates, as well as the political structures of the Sarronti Underground, and the Rodyte Outcast civilizations where three thousand males and their potential mates live and work. The supernatural aspect of the character’s abilities, and the series premise is reminiscent of two of Christine Feehan’s paranormal romance offerings.

ASSASSIN is a story of struggle, discrimination, power and control. The premise is intriguing and entertaining; the characters are colorful and animated; the romance is passionate and fated. ASSASSIN is an impassioned look at fate and determination in desperate times.
