When it’s time to read a book by this author, I’m also so excited. Like always, I was immediately pulled into this world from the first page. I love the interactions between Ty and Mira; they care for each other so much it hurts but won’t start relationship because they work together. Anyway, this may be a novella, but it felt like so much more as I practically read this in one setting. This is well-written and engaging, and I just love the characters in this world. I can’t wait to read more…hint, hint! LOL! Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

This is a fast read with an entire story. A Far curse is killing people in horrific ways. This story follows the item tracking each death. Mostly resolved in the end it's a good read.

A Fae curse, 48 hours to live. Mysterious deaths being investigated lead to Ty being cursed. Fast paced mystery, slow burn, great storyline. Good series.

Mira (with Number Two on board, heh heh) and Ty are back again and it is non stop snark, action, and adventure on their newest caper that touches a bit too close to home. A quick and super fun read, kinda like a female Venom, and who doesn't like that!

A Demon Faerie Tale Is everything I could hope for absolutely riveting world with deep rich characters and a story that grows richer and deeper with every installment. This novella delivers 100% as Mira desperately works to save Ty as a fae curse takes hold driving him insane as each hour passes as his deepest desire after touching a cursed object pulls anyone who comes into contact with it into a decent into madness and death. They have 48 hours once Ty inadvertently touches what seems like an innocent object even as Mira cries out to stop him from touching it as she realizes to Kate it is what they have been searching for.

When this happens they are no closer to understanding the origin or how to stop it and the clock is ticking. Mira just might lose the only person she has ever dared to love even if Ty isn’t willing to admit yet he loves her back.

I also deeply love the inner relationship between Mira and her demon who even still refuses to be names so Mira just decides to calm her number two. I laughed so hard it was brilliantly woven and kept my attention fixed on the unfolding storyline. I was so thrilled to renter this world and seriously can’t wait for the next full novel. I give it a 10/10 but do read in order so you can fully understand Mira and Ty’s dynamic and Mira’s relationship with her demon. I want more and look very forward to the next chapter in Ty and Mira’s world. Saddle up and join the ride you won’t regret it!

A Demon Faerie Tale, by L.R. Braden, is the third installment in the authors Rifter Series. Key Characters: Mira Fuentes who is a Rifter aka Demon possessed magic practitioner, and Ty Williams, crime fighting PTF agent who has become partners with Mira even though the PTF isn't exactly warm and welcoming to people like Mira. Mira and Ty are sent to Seattle to investigate a series of twisted deaths. First, there is the wife who suddenly finds cannibalism appealing and decides her husband is her next meal and dies grotesquely.

Second, a veteran PTF agent suddenly finds himself in the movie Constantine where no matter how much he drinks, he can't satisfy his thirst after stealing a coin from the Johnson family. Third, a clerk at the convenience story where the PTF agent drank himself to death, decides to steal the coin from the agent, and doesn't survive an encounter with a bus. Finally, Ty himself is infected after he picks up a coin which appears to have been cursed. In all cases, whatever the person was craving when they touched the coin, that's what they become obsessed with.

In Ty's case, his obsession becomes shoes. But who cursed the coin and why? All Mira knows is that she has no time for games. She needs to hunt down the person, likely Fae per her personal demon named Number Two, and get that person to break the curse before Mira loses Ty like Ty lost his last partner which is still hanging over his life and every action he takes.

This story, in my opinion, could have been longer, but the ending was wrapped up nicely. Lastly, I do hope the author keeps writing about Mira and Ty. They make a great team and Mira's demon has a snarky attitude which makes the story entertaining.

Third book in what is a great series. It's a novella so it's short and to the point, but still so well done. I still get Supernatural first season vibes and I think that's the best way to describe this series. Although I am encouraged to see more building romantically between Mira and Ty (who doesn't love a love story? Even Number Two is on board - kinda). For a shorter story line, the pacing, characters, and plotline were all solid and the ever present snark from Mira's demon was on full display making this such a welcome edition to one of my favorite series. I do hope that eventually we get a more complete ending (I'm hoping it's incorporated into a subsequent book somehow).

I so enjoyed this book! It's great to see the relationship between Mira and Ty continue and show some of it's self seeping out around the seams in the story. It digs in even deeper when the demon shows it's softer side, while, of course, still sticking to the sass and sarcasm expected of it! It's got all the dips and trips in emotion that I love as they race against an unknown curse, left by an unknown fae, actually knowing one thing about it and that's that it IS fatal.

I'll be honest, I wasn't quite sure how this one was going to end up, because with LR Braden, there can be 'catches' to those happy endings, which I always find frustrating and fascinating at the same time. It keeps me reading to the very end! I wasn't disappointed.

The only thing negative I can say....is that it ended to quickly! I read this one in a flash.

I look forward to their next adventure. Thanks to this wonderful author for another great read!

Amazing urban fantasy novella! Thank you BelleBooks for providing this book for review. All opinions are my own. This is the next installment of the Rifter series, and as always, L.R. Braden does not disappoint! Ty, an agent for the Paranormal Task Force (PTF), is the only one who knows that Mira is a Rifter, a human possessed by a demon. While investigating a suspicious death that reeks of magic, Ty enlists Mira’s expertise to see if a demon may have been involved. Now, Ty has been cursed by an object that has left gruesome deaths in its path. Mira, along with her constant demon companion, must race against the clock to find a way to break the curse before it is too late.

This was such an action-packed read! I loved that this book was told in both Ty and Mira’s POV, which makes their dynamic and chemistry even more heart-felt. I was on the edge of my seat, sometimes holding my breath, to see if Mira could unravel the mystery of this curse before it killed Ty! Absolutely loved the banter between Mira and the demon, which brought a bit of humor to an otherwise serious story. The curse causes some serious consequences that are of a dark nature (gave me vibes of the original Brother’s Grimm, which I love) so I would recommend this to more mature readers. The story was so well developed for a novella, and I felt the pace was perfect. If you haven’t read the Rifter series yet, you will want to after reading this! I highly recommend this novella to anyone who enjoys urban fantasy, especially those that like elements of mystery and suspense.

Chaos follows in the wake of a deadly curse with Ty, Mira, and her demon working against time to find the source.

I absolutely adored the way that Ty reacted to the curse. The curse was a very bad thing, believe me, but Ty’s actions and Mira’s attempts to corral him added some levity to a very grim situation. The two of them were growing closer, working well together, and playing a little bit with fire when it came to the unacknowledged attraction between them.

This magical mystery was engaging and thrilling. I enjoyed the author’s descriptive writing style that led us from clue to clue through some pretty gruesome moments. It packed quite a punch for a novella, giving us a fully formed story filled with unsettling suspense and no stone left unturned.

This series is connected to The Magicsmith series, but you don’t have to read that series first to be able to enjoy this one. It is better to read the books in order in each series as the events build on each other. I can highly recommend this if you like urban fantasy and the possibility of a romance.

Thank you to the author and Netgalley for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Oo a novella and we get both Mira and Tys points of view ! I'm a huge fan of this authors work as its imaginative and written in such a way as to feel believable. The world fear Demons and Rifters like Mira but there are other nasty things out there and this time it's a cursed object that has Ty obsessed beyond belief with something that should feel rather inane but clearly it's anything but !
This had great pace, gruesome ideas and trust me plenty of humour as Mira's "passenger" loves to but in ! A good addition to this series that definitely had me eagerly turning the pages.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

I stumbled upon a post that sparked my curiosity, and despite not having read the first two books, I dove in anyway. Although I knew I was missing vital context, this book still shone with thrilling action and suspense, leaving me eager for more.
