I Love me is a very colorful and lively book about self-acceptance, which is such a topical issue nowadays!
It is lovely, vibrant and will help kids accept who they are, what they look like and which in a way also teaches to accept difference.
A gem of a book!

I love Me is a beautifully illustrated children's picture book about self-acceptance. The colors are vibrant and eye-catching and the text flows well throughout the story with rhythm and rhyming. I love the idea about teaching children about self-love and appreciating the unique aspects of yourself that make YOU. Our elementary aged kids are at the age where they are really starting to notice their similarities and differences and this book is a great and simple reminder about how these things are what makes us who we are. This book would be great for an even younger audience as well. Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for an advanced copy of this book.

I Love Me, written by Sally Morgan and illustrated by Ambelin Kwaymullina, promotes self love and acceptance in children. From their eyes, nose, to even their curly hair, to their body size, and their emotions, the main character a little girl goes through the book naming everything about herself that she loves. This is a great novel to introduce self-love into the minds and hearts of children of color! I would definitely purchase this for my niece and nephew!

“I Love Me” is a book about self-acceptance for kids. In an age of social media and constant comparison on sites like Instagram and Facebook, this type of book resonates with me. It is something important to me that I want to teach my kids. You are different. You are unique. You are special just the way you are. Thank you, Mister Rogers. And, I love you just the way you are. I love you because you are you.

“I Love Me” is beautifully and uniquely illustrated. The colors and shapes and style all stand out from other books for children. The book is geared for older kids to read, but could be read to younger kids who would understand and could repeat after you as you read. Each page is a declaration for a child to say something they love about themselves. I can tell my kids that I love them, but I want them to love them too!

This is a great book that should be in every family’s library as a reminder to each child that they can love themselves just the way they are and that is a very good thing!

I received this book as an eBook from Andrews McMeel Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest and unbiased review of the title. I did not receive any compensation from either company. The opinions expressed herein are completely my own.

'I Love Me' is a sweet book about accepting one's self no matter how you may or may not describe it. You may be short or you may be tall, your hair may be curly, your eyes may be "different" but regardless, you love yourself no matter what, even if you're sad.

I love that we're becoming so mindful of making sure our kids understand that it is important to find acceptance in who we are.

I'm giving this book a 4-star rating because of two things. -1- I'm not a huge fan of the art. It's cool in some spots and a little creepy in others. But overall I liked it. -2- I feel like the word "fat" is not appropriate. In this society, "fat" has become a trigger and is used too often as a negative connotation. I feel like the word "stout" could have been used just fine.

I also want to emphasize that I hope parents will read this book and talk to their kids, going deeper into what acceptance means. That there's a difference in becoming a healthier version of yourself and working towards that rather than just saying "well oh well this is just who I am, I'm good with it" and truly loving a part of yourself that even with work, whether you change or not, you are still capable of loving that part of you. People use "acceptance" in place of "you don't need to change" and that's sometimes a dangerous thing.

I think using this book is a wonderful tool, good job.

The first thing you notice on this book is the bright and vibrant colors that will thrill any child and hold their interest. This is a great book on loving yourself no matter what. If you are big or small, have curly hair or straight, are thin or large or are happy or sad. You still love yourself. In this world where everything is based on being perfect I find comfort in this book to help children know it is okay to be who you are and love yourself. I found it very interesting and liked that each page has a different border design. Though it did not take away from the cute illustrations I found it to be a nice added touch. Reading this book as an adult I found the 2 children delightful and wanted to join them in their singing and dancing through the book. I recommend this book to any child 3+.
