Description
Inside you'll find more than 80 recipes specifically geared to the keto diet. Most recipes rely on coconut flour and almond flour, two of the most popular alternative flours on the market. Coconut flour is an all-natural flour made only from coconut; contains no gluten and no grain; and is low in digestible carbs and high in fiber, making it a favorite among keto, gluten-free, grain-free, nut-free, and low-glycemic lifestyles. Its pure, slightly sweet taste is subtle enough that even coconut haters won't be able to detect it, and it lends itself perfectly to baked goods, creating results far superior to many other “healthy” treats. Alongside other healthy ingredients like eggs and low-carbsweeteners, the recipes in this book have been carefully created to not only taste delicious, but also help you meet your macros (your target ratio of protein, fat, and carbs on keto).
Enjoy all the special treats you once thought were off-limits, such as:
- Fluffy Pancakes
- Cheesy Bagels
- Garlic Cauliflower Breadsticks
- Chocolate Zucchini Bread
- Cinnamon Streusel Cake
- Strawberry Rhubarb Cobbler
- Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Red Velvet Cupcakes
- Cheesecake Brownies
- Spinach Feta Quiche
[Publisher's Note: Everyday Keto Baking is a revised and adapted version of the original book The Healthy Coconut Flour Cookbook.]

One of the very best cook books I've ever gotten, so many great recipes. Thank you.
Every one needs to get this Book and try these.yummy recipes...my Husband and u Love this one...Delicious....
While I still don't concretely follow the keto diet, I'm always open to finding alternatives for baked goods - which is a rare treat. Trying to figure out food allergies/irritations at this point, this book is really helpful in terms of keeping with recipes that are diary, nut, grain, gluten-free. The book has beautiful pictures, a great design for layout, and recipes that are easy to follow (and numbered -yes!) I'm planning to try the 'chocolate chip scones with coconut flour' recipe next and I'm incredibly happy with the results so far.
Thank you NetGalley and Publisher for this early copy!
I'm always on the lookout for Keto recipes, most of all for baking, so this was great! I cannot wait to try out these recipes! :D
Lots of recipes I saved for later! Some short info at the beginning what flours to use and how to store them.
Can’t wait to start baking!
I received this digital copy from the publisher and NetGalley for an honest review.
Great book for Keto Baking. The book gives good advice on Keto diets and valuable information on the ingredients used.. There are all sorts of recipes within the book including bread, cakes and biscuits. The book has great illustrations although not every recipe is pictured.
The book would also be useful for people with allergies and intolerances as many of the recipes are gluten and dairy free.
Cant wait to try some of these recipes out over the coming weeks.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for an advance copy of this title in exchange for an unbiased review.
Clear and concise recipes for keto and low carb baking. Well designed, bright and appealing. Cannot wait try these out. Also has handy hints and tips and dietary advice.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
Love all of the great, refreshing ideas for a Keto/low-carb diet!
I have yet to try the recipes out but I thoroughly enjoyed the variety, especially when it comes to the bread and donuts, something you can't have much of due to carb intake.
Aside from that, the author keeps the recipe list minimal, the directions very clear to understand and I can't wait to try them out!
I enjoyed reading this cookbook with the satisfaction of not being overwhelmed. The information given in this cookbook is easy to read and understand, which is nice for someone, like me, who is new to keto. The recipes are easy to follow. I have already made two of the deserts and are so delicious! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is starting the keto journey.
This was a complimentary copy from net galley - many thanks
As someone recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, I am always on the lookout for anything that could help me.
What I have learned is that baked goods, pastry - all the tasty stuff is about the worst thing for a diabetic so I was particularly interested when I saw this on the site and thrilled to be gifted it from the publishers.
This is easy to read and follow. Great recipes that are easy to recreate (I've already started) - health tips, dietary advice - not preachy at all
I feel I now have a much better understanding about keto - which I confess have found a little confusing.
The book itself is really well set out, great pictures
The only thing that would have made it perfect would have been to have had it in kindle format - would have liked to be able to have it on my kindle for portability
I love everything about this cookbook. It is not difficult to live a Ketogenic lifestyle in general because you can eat meat and cheese, and lots of veggies. However, when it comes to baked goods, including both sweet and savory indulgences, it can be difficult to find good recipes. This cookbook is full of them! My mouth was literally watering at all of the fantastic breads, and desserts! One of the tough things about eating Ketogenically is missing sweets at parties. There is every option here to make sweets that aren't fat bombs or cheesecake fluff, but real downhome comfort food desserts like brownies, cobblers, cookies, and cake. I also thought the savory main dishes in the last section of the book sounded delicious. I recommend this book to anyone who eats a ketogenic or low carb diet. Everyday Keto Baking is a must have for your low carb/keto cookbook collection!
Everyday Keto Baking is an essential cookbook geared towards anyone looking to bake using keto-friendly ingredients. This book includes more than 80 recipes that use low-carb baking flours, such as almond flour (and other nut flours), and coconut flours, as well as low-carb sweeteners (Erythritol)
The first section covers ingredients such as flour—coconut flour which is gluten-free and grain-free, low-carb sweetness which is divided into two categories: those that have “bulk” (stevia and monk fruit) and those that don’t.
It also covers milk and creams (diary-based, and diary-free milk such as coconut, hazelnut, and almond milk.
The recipes include biscuits (Cheddar Biscuits, Drop Biscuits), Cheesy Bagel, Pumpkin bread, Fluffy pancakes, Muffins, Waffles Yellow Cake, Chocolate Layer Cake, Coconut Cake and Brownies.
You will find more recipes on soups and smoothies
At the end of this book, is a list of ingredients, low-carb sweeteners, and equipment.
Thank you to Erica Kerwien, NetGalley, and Quarto Publishing Group – Fair Winds Press for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
With a number of recipes that use mostly coconut and almond flours, this book is a good choice for those looking for kept baking options. Besides emphasizing gluten-free baking, it also uses & discusses sugar substitutes and dairy-free options.
Inexplicably though, this book on baking includes two rather long chapters on soups and non-baked savory dishes. While some of the recipes look good, I can't figure out why they are there except that the author writes a cooking blog.
The book is well organized and has a great variety of baked goods and the photos are lovely. However, nearly every single recipe requires coconut flour and/or coconut milk which makes everything taste like coconut. I'm not a fan of coconut and I'm especially not a fan of my savory goods tasting like coconut - flatbreads, breadsticks, tortillas, biscuits, bagels... seriously, every recipe asks for it which to me is not the true mark of a successful alternative. Overall,, a disappointment since I won't be able to use hardly any of the recipes. But for someone who enjoys coconut and isn't a stickler for accurate translation from non-keto foods - this will be a great resource.
OMG...LOVE this book! Can't wait until it comes out and I can get a hard copy! I was a bit skeptical at first because the author uses a lot of coconut flour which I, personally, have not had great success with but thanks to her recipes I feel much better and more confident working with it. Have tried about 13 recipes out of the book and have enjoyed them all and so has my non-Keto hubby. Great book!
So I went through the cookbook and really enjoyed all the baked goods. I am hoping to add these recipes to my arsenal and try them out when I get the chance. Overall, I recommend this cookbook for anyone with a sweet tooth! :)
Thank you Net Galley for the free ARC.
I was very excited to have found this cookbook. I am diabetic and have been trying hard to get my blood sugar in control. As it turns out, some of the sugar free cookies and baked things you can buy still have tons of carbs. The secret really is knowing which flour and which sweetener combination works and tastes right. I loved the biscuits, the pumpkin muffins, the parmesan pop-overs and omg - tiramisu. It' s much easier to give up the real stuff when there is a healthy and tasty replacement. Thanks.
She starts by explaining briefly what a Ketogenic diet means and introduces the core ingredients and tools used in her recipes.
Pros:
+ It has a content page, not every cooking book has one and it's a shame really, because it shows what I can expect and where I have to look for something.
+ I love the introduction at the start of every recipe.
+ Love the included metric measurements, weighing your ingredients is a key to succes for baking!
+ Like the indication of how many each recipes yields and macros per serving.
+ Nice balance between sweet and savoury recipes. The book includes bread, pizza, cakes, cookies, quiche, soups and smoothies.
Cons:
- I wish there was a picture for each recipe, now it's 50/50.
- I'd go for better pictures, for example the crêpes is not very appealing.
- Love the introduction, but it needs a more personal touch in my opinion.
- The sections "about the author" and "acknowledgments" should be in the front. That's where you'll attract readers and in this case bakers.
- Mushroom feta spinach crêpes without seasoning in the ingredients? Are you sure about that?
- Hopefully the pages with "repro: extend background in bottom of photo" gets removed.
Overall I'd recommend the book if you want some baking inspiration during your Ketogenic diet. If the cons are removed or improved, I'd give it 5 stars.
Baking...one of the things I've missed most since living this Keto lifestyle. Well, not anymore! Thanks to this amazing book I can bake all kinds of treats for my family and not feel guilty about eating one or two afterward. With easy to follow directions and delicious imagery, this cookbook is a must for anyone who loves baked goods but wants to stay healthy. This will be a go-to in my kitchen, especially with kids!
I found this book on Netgalley and thought I would give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. I have no intention of going keto but thought lowering our carbs would be beneficial to our health.
I liked this book. It explains different alternative flours, oils and sweetener and why just substituting these ingredients into your other non-keto recipes can lead to disaster. You can't blindly substitute and expect great results.
The author provides conversion charts and notes on the different ingredients. Imagine learning there are substitutes for eggs in baking. I was unaware of this. As I try to lower carbs in our diet, I plan to keep the information at hand while experimenting. I don't plan on using erythritol or xylitol as sweeteners due to their side effects.
I would recommend this book if you are looking for alternative ways to lower carbs in your day to day cooking. This book does not just discuss baking for instance the chicken strips are not baked.
I love how in the beginning, Erica breaks down the flours and there are also easy charts and colored boxes with helpful hints. There are quite a few recipes in this book that I'm for sure going to try soon!
Even though I have my own waffle recipe that I just found out about this month, I am curious to try the Savory Waffle to see how that ones tastes. I also love at the end she gives a page of actual resources she uses with brand names. My only downside to this cook book, I just wished there were more pictures.
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
This is an awesome all-round cook book. While I wouldn’t go so far to say that it’s the only book you’ll need, it’s certainly the saviour book that will keep cravings and bad days away.
Not only does it give you the guide on what to get it give alternatives and tips to ensure you succeed. With its step by step guide and photos for most recipes, there’s very little that could go wrong.
I don't think I have ever flipped through a cookbook and want to make almost all the recipes! But this book “Everyday Keto Baking” by Erica Kerwien has done that for me.
As a really lazy cook, I like the “everyday cookbook” concept that is presented so nicely in this book. No hard-to-find or strange sounding ingredients. Simple cooking methods with no special equipment needed. Delicious looking dishes presented beautifully throughout the pages that tell me how the food should look like at the end of the cooking process.
I was so excited to try out the recipes that the day I got my copy, I went into the kitchen and made Garlic-Cauliflower Breadsticks. Yummy from Page 31. So good - I definitely will make it again!
Each recipe has a heading declaring Nut-free, Dairy-Free Option, Grain-free, or Gluten-Free as appropriate.
There is also a good mix of sweet and savory dishes.
There are some non-baking recipes at the back of the book for smoothies and soups. I hope the author writes another book with more non-baking everyday dishes very very soon!
Going low carb has put my diabetes into remission, and cookbooks such as this one really makes my life a whole lot easier when it comes to preparing the type of food that helps me to stay healthy and off all diabetic meds!
Thank you Netgalley and the Publisher for this ARC. This is my honest review.
As someone who is constantly trying to make up recipes and find great snack recipes too, this has been really helpful!
Fabulously useful book! I have been wanting to get to grips with low carb baking for some considerable time and this is the best book I have found. The explanations of different flours are great - not too detailed but telling me all I need to know. The recipes are exactly the kind I was looking for - not too expensive/complex/fetishistic. I am really really looking forward to using this!
This is an american book - but for once the recipes feel very easy to pull together in the UK too. Nothing I haven't heard of/can't get easily here.
I'm very pleased. I really wasn't expecting this to be so good.
Thankyou!
Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Fair Winds Press for an early copy of Everyday Keto Baking by Erica Kerwien. This book is by the blogger at comfybelly.com. I am not keto and not really a baker, but I found many great recipes in this book. The introduction is very helpful, it provides detailed information on various sweeteners, flours, milks, and egg substitutes.
Some of my favorite recipes are:
- Cauliflower Pizza Crust
- Cheddar Biscuits
- Cinnamon Bun Muffins
- Chocolate Chip Favorites
- Crepes
- Cheesecake Brownies
- Cowboy Quiche
- Chicken Piccata
- Scallion Chicken Pancakes
All the recipes in this book were easy to follow, even for a non-baker, and turned out delicious. The detailed index was very helpful to find recipes by ingredients. Also, at the end of the book was a resource list to help you find ingredients, low carb sweeteners, and equipment. This was an excellent resource for keto-friendly baking recipes and lots of helpful information on keto-friendly ingredients.

The author explains everything about me to in the beginning of the book. She lists what substitutes you can make for ingredients, and why she uses certain ingredients. The first section is my favorite, because I have to be able to eat some breads and be able to follow the keto diet. This book makes it easy to follow the keto diet and still be able to eat the foods and snacks you love.
An easy to understand recipe book with lots of tips on baking with various types of flour and sweeteners to get your every day favorites in a Keto friendly way. Whether it's pizza, bread, pancakes, waffles, smoothies or cakes your craving this is the book for you! I enjoyed the Fluffy Pancakes for breakfast this am. Can't wait to try more recipes. Thank you to Netgalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Fair Winds Press for an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
This is a really great book because it helps solve a really big problem - how to bake sweets while on keto! I loved the recipes, the layout was easy, the flow was good, the pictures were beautiful, and the instructions were clear.
A wonderful book for anyone who is Keto!
This book is a great addition to any keto Baker! I love to bake but sometimes struggle with keto recipes, because some have weird ingredients. The recipes that come in this book look like something even beginners can handle.. The author covers some basics on flours and other ingredients needed in keto baking which I appreciated. She even gives a short explanation of counting carbs and how to do it. The recipes look delicious! I can't wait to try them all. The pictures are beautiful. I really want to try her cheesy bagels! I would definitely recommend!
I received this ARC from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
A really great keto baking cookbook. I’ve been on the ketogenic diet for over a year now. I’ve baked some cookies and made mug cakes but this book has opened my eyes to new and exciting recipes and ingredients. I recommend this book to fellow keto followers.
Thank you to the publisher and #netgalley for alone to review this book.,
Whether you are a full keto diet follower or are just looking for recipes that are low-carb (and gluten free, or nut free), this book offers a wide range of recipes. There's pizza, bagels, donuts, chocolate layer cake, cheese cake brownies, cookies, pastries and pies, soups, meat dishes,.... Savory and sweet, there's something for everyone in this book.
Try the cheesecake brownies!
Fair Winds Press and NetGalley provided me with an electronic copy of Everyday Keto Baking: Healthy Low-Carb Recipes for Every Occasion. I was under no obligation to review this book and my opinion is freely given.
I do not subscribe to the idea that putting your body into ketosis is healthy long term. I chose this cookbook for the low-carb approach to eating, wanting to understand more about gluten-free/low-carb eating. Everyday Keto Baking is divided into logical sections, including recipes for everything from breads, to cakes, to soups, to savory bites, and everything in between. In the introduction, the author describes certain ingredients that are key to achieving low-carb, as well as an explanation on how to adapt recipes using these ingredients. The adaptation of recipes can get complicated, so I appreciated the Sweetener Conversion Table on page 15, for example. Those who are allergic to eggs or are vegan will like the substitutions described in this section, though I am not sure why it is included. Many of the finished dishes include eggs, but the author does not put tip boxes containing substitutions with the recipes.
The thing that I like most about the recipes is that the author took the time to classify each with its dietary restrictions, listed clearly at the top of the page. This is quite helpful to those who need their food to meet certain requirements, making it easy to scan through to find those recipes that suit them.
There are many dishes that I am interested in trying. The Pesto Flatbread Pizza (p. 35) looks so delicious, with its mozzarella and roasted cherry tomato toppings. Chocolate Zucchini Bread (p. 45) will have eaters raving for more and not missing the dairy, nuts, or gluten. Fluffy Pancakes (p. 53) have a combination of almond and coconut flours, as well as eggs and yogurt, to make them light and airy. Berry Yogurt Crepes (p. 75) includes substitutions to make the recipe dairy free, giving this delicious dish versatility. My favorite recipe in the book is for Chocolate Layer Cake (p. 93) and its frosting options on pages 98 and 99. This gluten/dairy/nut/grain-free dessert is so delectable that eaters will be fully satisfied. Overall, the desserts make this cookbook shine, from cakes to cookies and pies. My only complaint is that some of the recipes do not seem to fit, as baking is not involved. Although the recipes are good, like Chicken Piccata (p. 137) or Scallion Chicken Pancakes (p. 141), they do not have a place in a baking cookbook.
Overall, there are some excellent recipes in Everyday Keto Baking. Readers looking to decrease their carbohydrate intake without sacrificing certain food dishes that they love, will enjoy this cookbook.
I'm new to the whole Keto plan so I was looking for some inspiration, especially as I'm also vegetarian.
Clear, concise recipes and split into easy to navigate sections. Suitable for all bakers, from the novice to the experienced.
This was an interesting cookbook – colorful, informative, and with some really good recipes that include both sweet and savory dishes.
I loved that the author included conversions for substituting different ingredients. Recipes included both weight and volume measurements and–my favorite–“per serving” stats for those of us who need to know these things.
The recipes are clear and easy to follow with mostly easy-to-find ingredients. For those “oddball” ones like the sugar substitutions–she included places where the reader can find the ingredients.
All recipes are gluten-free, some are dairy and/or egg free as well – a huge plus for those on these specialized diets. As someone who is both gluten and lactose intolerant, I especially appreciated this.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who follows the Keto diet or someone who is gluten intolerant–or to someone who just wants something a little different in their cookbook collection and food choices.
Everyday Keto Baking is an accessible and easy to follow low carb cookbook which includes quite a number of dessert recipes which are often difficult to find in low/no carb versions. Released 30th July 2019 by Quarto on their Fair Winds imprint, it's 160 pages and available in paperback and ebook formats.
I'm not on a low carb diet, however I am insulin resistant and when taking dishes to shared food gatherings, it's nice to have an alternative which anyone can eat which is tasty (#1 priority) and guilt-free.This cookbook includes a number of tasty recipes which satisfy the craving for breads, cakes, cookies, and those sweet desserts which usually don't fit into a ketogenic diet.
The introduction provides some very basic background and definitions for keto diet, what it is, where it's appropriate, sourcing storing and using low-carb flours, sweeteners, etc. Sidebars scattered throughout refine and build on the main text information and provide extra tips and tricks for food prep.
The following chapters progress through: breads biscuits & pizza, waffles pancakes muffins & donuts, cakes & cupcakes, brownies cookies & bars, pies & tarts, soups & smoothies, and savory bites & meals.
Though the book is aimed at readers in North America, the ingredients and measures are conveniently also given in SI units (grams, ml, etc). I know a fair number of diabetics use kitchen scales which are calibrated and measure in SI units, so having the measurements already pre-converted is a time saver.
There's an index along with a short resource links list (slanted toward readers in North America) which provides some tips about sourcing ingredients and equipment. The ingredients are (mostly) easily sourced and should be available from any large well stocked grocery like Whole Foods.
Well written and easy to follow.
Four stars
This book has a large variety of keto baked goods to choose from and is a great resource for those on the keto or low carb diet. I really wish it was available in kindle format though!!!
Marketed for keto fans, Everyday Keto Baking is also perfect for those sensitive to gluten, eggs, nuts, or dairy. Each recipe is clearly labeled with calories and amounts of protein, carbs, and fats. Almost all the recipes include a picture making deciding what to make first the hardest part.
The best thing about Everyday Keto Baking is that it only requires two types of flour: almond and coconut. Everyone knows that if they see a gluten-free label on bread or cakes (even mixes), the price will be at least double of one made with wheat flour. This cookbook has recipes for all those expensive products like waffles, pancakes, muffins, sandwich rolls, and cakes. But it also has items rarely seen in stores like donuts, crepes, popovers, and tiramisu.
Most of the recipes have many ingredients that you will already have in your pantry. Along with the sweets and breads are about twelve main dishes like salmon croquettes and coconut shrimp. Everything looks yummy, easy to make, and inexpensive so 5 stars!
Thanks to Fair Winds Press and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.
All my life, it has been suggested to me that I do the keto diet. Even before it was the big thing, in fact. (I have epilepsy and keto is highly recommended along with medication to help with frequency and severity of seizures)
But it's always been intimidating to me because I wasn't sure exactly, aside from bacon, steak, and cheese, that I could eat. Also, I really love garlic bread and the world is a better place when I can eat it.
This cookbook offered a rundown on the types of flours and sugars that are keto friendly, why they are, and even why certain ones don't work with keto. Basically, with a little effort on my part, I can still have brownies, and garlic bread. I liked a lot of the recipes and I liked that a lot of them had interchangeable ingredients (and Kerwien explains why and when ingredients can be substituted) and that even in my non-keto kitchen I already have the stuff I need to make a few things.
But the garlic-cauliflower breadsticks are 100% my first recipe so I can convince the other people in the house that keto is not all meat and sadness. Then we'll move onto espresso brownies with icing. Or bagels. The possibilities are not limited!
*I received a copy of this from netgalley in exchange for my review
A nice selection of items to make. Easy to follow instructions. A nice addition for those who want a new book for keto baking and other food items.
What I love about Everyday Keto Baking is the variety of recipes it has. It doesn't focus solely on sweets but lots of yummy savory baked dishes like Mexican lasagna and coconut shrimp. I also was really happy they had a handful of frosting and ganache recipes for cakes and cupcakes. I can't wait to give some of these recipes a try especially the cinnamon streusel cake.
This had a lot of interesting recipes and was well organized. I had chosen to look through this just to get some different recipes. I did find it off putting for all the coconut based ingredients, I hate coconut flavored stuff but I believe if I would have been willing I could have substituted other milks and flours.
This book has some deliciously enticing recipes for baked good for those following a keto diet. This book succinctly goes through the alternatives for common ingredients to fit in with the requirements of the diet. It also has recipes to make some lovely butters to either use as part of the recipes in the book or as part of other parts of your keto diet.
Great book with interesting ideas. I like it has variations of normal food in it too. It has a great range of recipes for various meats and meals I think I’ll enjoy
This is a delightful little book for the Keto Baker. I love the information on the different flours, tips on substitutions and the warnings about conversions.
When looking through this book, you will be surprised that there are such beautiful recipes for the Keto eater. There are so many of your favourite baked goods and even a section on Savory Bites and meals which is just a bonus for me.
The recipes are easy to follow, the book is well set out and I am thrilled to find a great little cookbook to buy for my Keto Diet friends.
Thanks to NetGalley, Quarto Publishing Group - Fair Winds Press and Erica Kerwin for the opportunity to read and review this book.
I don't follow a keto diet, but I'm always down for a good cookbook, especially ones that have some healthy alternatives. I really enjoyed this cookbook and can't wait to try out some of the recipes!
Really enjoyed this Keto cookbook. There are so many on the market, it's hard to decide what to keep or kick out of your collection. I can confidently endorse Everyday Keto Baking because it keeps recipes simple, it gives us a list of easy-to-come-by ingredients that I can find at any local store. I've been dieting so long, I've forgotten just how much I love to bake--and this cookbook finally gives me that option back.
I found Chapter 1 "Getting Started with Keto baking" the most informative. It explains all the various low-carb flours; sweeteners; good oils and fats & milk and creams in easy to understand language. It is great information for the beginner in the Keto diet to know what to buy; how to measure it out and how to store it.
The recipes themselves are well-laid out. Each has clear instructions along with all the ingredients needed and the nutrition values per serving. I liked the ****-free information at the top of each recipe; great if you've got specific eating issues ie no dairy; no gluten.
The recipes are also well classed in their various chapters.
A great selection of stunning photographs through out the book make ones mouth water.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me the chance to read this book.
I received a copy of this book in return for a review and my honest opinion.
I don't follow the Keto eating plan per se. However, I was really excited when I read the description of this book because I love to bake but I can't eat grains of any kind, or sugar (including artificial or natural ones).
I had had a few run-ins previously with coconut flour and adapting my favourite recipes to use it rather than normal flour. For anyone who hasn't used it before, coconut flour needs a lot more liquid and can have quite a gritty texture - so just be aware before you start.
I absolutely loved the section at the beginning of the book which specifically looks at the different ingredient types, including coconut flour and almond meal/flour. I got some great insights for where I'd gone wrong before.
I made 2 of the recipes this weekend: Drop Biscuits and Pumpkin muffins.
The former weren't great. I had to up the amount of flour to a full cup before it was mushy enough to drop onto the baking sheet. While they tasted delicious smothered in sugar-free plum jam and whipped cream, they were a little rubbery in texture. Where did I go wrong? Possibly the different ingredients in this part of the world? I don't know.
I've just tasted my second Pumpkin mini muffin - it is absolutely divine! And I managed to figure out where I was supposed to add the flour.
I won't get to try all the recipes in this book (sweeteners cause a problem) but I look forward to trying more,
Such in insight into what your body does with certain foods ...Im really interested in this as I’m on my own weight loss journey and these recipes look really good and tasty using things I’ve never used before xx wish me luck and Thankyou x
I love this book I use it to make delicious desserts with for friends and for myself. I couldn't ask for a better book to be easy access to me than on my kindle.
A good selection of recipes with easy to follow steps. Following Leto isn’t easy and this does help and offer guidance and how to get started
This cookbook contains good looking and sounding recipes. If you buy or make the flours (almond, coconut, etc.) ahead of time the recipes are much easier. The recipes are not for unusual foods but are for common food that you miss when on a diet or eating healthy. I love the recipes for cinnamon raison bread, waffles, and pancakes. I can’t wait to try the many cakes and muffins. This is definitely my kind of cookbook!!!
I received an ARC from Quarto Publishing through NetGalley. This in no way affects my opinion or rating of this book. I am voluntarily writing this review.
For those who love the sweet treats such as cupcakes, doughnuts, berry cobbler or want sweet and sour meatballs, chicken nuggets or pizza but want to reduce the carb input, then this is the book for you.
This book contains eight chapters beginning with an introduction to keto baking, explaining the different types of low carb sweeteners you can use and the different low-carb flours that are available. Included is a handy conversion chart for each type of sweetener including its uses and other qualities. There are also recipes for making your own dairy free milks.
The following seven chapters contain the recipes and are split into Breads, biscuits & pizza, Waffles, pancakes, muffins & doughnuts, Cakes & cupcakes, Brownies, cookies & bars, Pies & tarts, Soups & smoothies and Savoury bites & meals.
There is only some colour photography to accompany the recipes, the measurements are in both imperial and metric terms. For those with allergies, it also indicates if the recipe is gluten, grain, dairy, egg or nut free.
Now I have noticed when looking online for some of these ingredients (such as the flours and sweeteners) that they are expensive in the supermarkets, but it does appear from the recipes that you don't need much of it, so that's good. There is a list of resources at the rear of the book, but it is aimed at the American market not here in the UK, though at least one did deliver with a massive shipping fee!
I received this book from Netgalley in return for a honest review.
The recipes were all very simple and easy to follow. The ingredients were all easy to find and there were even suggestions for substitutions. Can't wait to give a few of these a try!
This was a well set out book, with a great variety to suit all tastes. Simple to use with everyday ingredients. The pictures where a lovely addition. This book is a good all rounder for every occasion.
Great collection of Keto baking recipes. Breads and other carb heavey foods being one of the struggles with doing Keto this makes it a lot easier.

I have had vague run-ins with the keto diet and I requested an opportunity to check this book out to get a better picture as to what it might entail. I did not get to read the whole thing before I lost access to the book (as it happens with some advance review copies) but what I did register was a very pleasant surprise!
I have been going through multiple cookbooks in the past couple of weeks, mostly because my time with them was running out and it was now or never. I sometimes learn something very new from a few of them and this was one such book. I may not be completely sold on the idea of a keto diet or have the capacity to see it through, but I do see the advantages of some of the suggestions. There were so many interesting options of things to bake and put together that it has me excited to buy cauliflowers soon, which obviously indicates that a lot of the recipes have cauliflower and they also use coconut flour and almond flour. The last two ingredients I have very easy access to which is yet another reason I should give the recipes I looked at a chance sooner rather than later.
Overall, I got more out of this book with just a minimal investment of time than I thought I would which is always something of a gift. Followers of the Keto diet may find a lot to help them in here, and even those who are not (like me) will also find new ideas and suggestions of value in these pages. A few recipes are vegetarian and a few vegan but many can just have some ingredients substituted to make them different. There were enough such recipes to satisfy me.
I received an ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publishers but the review is completely based on what I got from reading the book and my interest in new and different recipes.
