Description
Milk and cookies are a classic. There’s no better culinary combination than a sweet, crumbly, and warm cookie colliding with a rich, cool, creamy liquid…the extraordinary contrast of temperature, texture, and flavor wow and delight our senses. It’s no wonder that people have been dunking and drinking for decades.
But somehow, this magical combination became associated with childhood—a pairing reserved for after-school snacks or Christmas Eve treats for Santa. But, no more! A new era has begun. Retro cocktails are more popular than ever (hello, Harvey Wallbanger?) and like mad scientists, bartenders everywhere are crafting cocktails that tap into milk-and-cookie nostalgia too. If you’ve ever thought a Girl Scout cookie would taste great with a boozy beverage or wished you could order Cereal Milk Punch at your local watering hole, then this book is for you.
Cookies & Cocktails features dreamy drink recipes paired with delicious cookies, biscuits, wafers, and bars. Whether you crave a cutting-edge craft cocktail or a soul-warming nightcap to end a cozy wintry evening you’ll find a sensory surprise on every level. Cheers!

It might be wrong to wish for a cocktail at 8:30am, but no one's here to judge me (or read my mind), so I think I'm in the clear :). This was my first wish after opening Cookies & Cocktails -- and once wished, I can't take it back. Just the first cocktail recipe 'Pistachio Fizz' melted my heart - love pistachios! However, the next 'Three Ps Sandwich Cookies' may be more of an acquired taste for me, since it's pimento cheese, pepper jelly, and jalapeno slices; while I'm sure it'll pair well with a cocktail, to me, cookies are more of a sweet item. With descriptions of 'speakeasies', easy-to-follow recipes (when you settle on the right ones for you), this is a great book to have on hand as a reference and something that I look forward to surprising friends with.

I liked the concept of this book. Grown up versions of milk and cookies. The pairings were well thought out and the cookie recipes were delicious. I found the cocktail recipes to be a little complicated for me with specialty ingredients that I would have to source. Milk based cocktails are not high on my wishlist though so I’m not sure I need that many different types to try. Fun for special occasions or even a Christmas date night before Santa comes. I bet he would like a little special cocktail waiting for him this year!
