Not sure if I can really commit to a low carb diet. I really do like my carbs way too much. The thing is though, I want to try.... this recipe book is me doing just that. My first hurdle is, my head, I’ve spent way too long on low fat diets, I can’t comprehend eating so much fat as being healthy, but, as has been proven, Atkins, and now Keto, do speed up weight loss. The recipes look tasty, some are super quick and easy to make. Sourcing some of the ingredients proved difficult for me, but where there’s a will there’s a way. Great intro, with good advice, and recipes to really make those taste buds tingle in appreciation. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher. This is my honest review.

So many good looking, yummy snacks to make that I didn't even think about eating like different types of savory fat bombs. I can't wait to try them. Of course I'm sad some of the baked goods are too high for Keto, but maybe those will be a special treat.

I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Yummy low carb snacks! I wish there were more keto friendly options, but then the book would be called keto snacks. Love the lay out of the recipes, would love a part two!

Full of delicious snacks made from real foods. You'll find options for any time of day as well as recipes that will work beautifully for parties and picnics as well as yummy drinks. I also liked that the recipes didn't require fancy appliances or techniques.

My one concern is that many of the recipes use maple syrup as a sweetener. Some folks using this book for low-carb snacks might find this a problem. Skip those recipes, there is plenty of great stuff here.

This is a lovely recipe book with mouth watering photography for lots of things. It specializes in a variety of 'bombs' . I didn't love all the recipes but they are all easily adaptable to your taste and particular diet. It is a pleasurable easy to read book, one that you would be happy browsing through for ideas. Thank you

Super Low Carb Snacks has a great variety of sweet and savory snacks. And I love how some of these snacks can then be used as part of a meal or as an appetizer for a party. They even have a section on drinks like hot cocoa and smoothies. I did have an issue that some recipes included coconut palm sugar or honey/maple syrup. Even though these treats are still lower in carb than the original it's still would like to use a sugar alternative like stevia or monkfruit. Or it would have been nice if they gave the option for those recipes. For example, the Blonde Snack Bars use 1 cup of coconut palm sugar resulting in a piece being 15.3 net carbs. I guess those recipes can be good if you having a carb up day but still want to remain on the lower side then let's say eating a stack of Bisquick pancakes. Just wish there were alternatives in those recipes.

For those living a more “back to nature” food regimen, this book is quite healthy and helpful. Recipes are unique and easy to follow. Ingredients ought to be found at your local health food store. On,y downside is they take more time to prepare if you’re not used to, for example, making your own mayonnaise.

For anyone looking for low carb- Keto and Paleo- friendly snacks this is the book for you! This book is full of a wide variety of snacks from the basics to safe (allergy sensitive) snacking to on the go snacks. There is definitely something for everyone. My mouth was watering from the beginning with the nut butters- there are so many to try I'm not sure where to start! Thanks to Netgalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Fair Winds Press for an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is only a short book but don’t let that put you off. It is full of some delicious ideas not just for snacks but also delicious nut butters and smoothies. The pictures make me want to dive in a start making straight away.

One of my biggest struggles with trying to maintain a low carb lifestyle is being hungry between meals. Usually for low carb snacks I turn to Whisps, which are delicious cheese crackers, but that can get monotonous not to mention expensive. I love that I have that option for something quick, but it is nice to have a book full of a variety of options, both sweet and savory. There are so many recipes I want to try out of the book. One section that I am particularly excited about is the smoothie section. I didn't think that there were many smoothie options for low carb lifestyles but I was wrong. There are lots of options I can't wait to try. I also think that there are some new and interesting savory fat bombs in Super Low-Carb snacks, as well as plenty of recipes to satisfy my sweet tooth. I recommend this book to anyone who lives a low carb lifestyle or just wants some new healthy treats to try.

One of the most difficult things about doing a low-carb lifestyle is the snacks. I am a late-night snacker and this book is amazing! It gives some amazing snack ideas and recipes with beautifully colored images. Don't carb-up because you are hungry and don't know what to eat, find a healthier and more carb-friendly snack!

If you love snacks as much as me and you live a low-carb life...you need this book! Do not think twice or you'll find yourself eating a bag of chips as comfort food...

I'm a sucker for aesthetic food pictures, and this has some pretty amazing food photography skills. The layout is beautiful, simple, and easy to follow.
What I love is how it teaches you ways to make healthier versions of your favourite sweets and junk food like: nut butter, homemade chocolate, chocolate balls
As a chronic snacker, I loved reading the section about at-home snacks as well as on-the-go snacks
Most of these need less than 10 minutes to prepare, and many of the ingredients are accessible to even beginner cooks (like me)
I was drooling over prosciutto-wrapped asparagus and crispy okra sticks
It's amazing how much healthy vegetables went into many of the recipes
Plus it has nutritional facts to tell you the macronutrients of a serving that you make.

I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley.

This book caught my eye because I try to limit my intake of processed foods (including most carbs) while my mom is on a permanent low-carb plan. In particular, I wanted to look for recipes that we might enjoy the few times a year when we're together.

I'm familiar with a lot of the common low-carb snack recipes out there. What sets this book apart is the sheer variety--and the great photographs throughout make the food all the more appealing. This book does rely on many of the same base ingredients for many recipes, so once you stocked your cabinet with these, you'd find many ways to use them. In particular are many uses for coconut (butter, milk, nectar, shredded), heavy whipping cream, cream cheese, and a wide variety of nuts. The author seems quite aware of the reliance on nuts, and therefore has an entire chapter near the end that's all about nut-free recipes. Things like bacon are used often, but the book is overall pretty friendly to those who eschew meat.

I did find several recipes I want to try, including two new types of homemade nut butter: spiced maple and pecan butter, and pumpkin sun butter.

Full nutritional information is included with each recipe, and the portion sizes are easy to understand (unlike in some cookbooks). Some of the recipes struck me as higher in carbs than I anticipated to find in a book of this nature, so definitely read the fine print on the nutritional facts before you think it's-in-the-book-so-it-must-be-okay.

I greatly enjoyed Super Low-Carb Snacks. I have not tried any of the recipes yet but found the ingredients, and steps simple and easy to follow. I really enjoy cookbooks that show pictures of the what the meal is supposed to look like, so at least I have an idea of what my end product should look like, Super Low-Carb Snacks delivered by providing a photo for many of the recipes. Having had weight loss surgery a few years ago finding small snacks that are full of flavor, healthy, and having a variety of options to choose from are top priorities for me, Super Low-Carb Snacks appears to have met all of those! I greatly enjoyed the book, and excited to try out the recipes.

I really love that the low carb snacks were broken down in categories. Plus I had to save some recipes to make later, even though I haven't made any yet. But my favorite recipe would have to be those Cinnamon Donut Holes, well anything donut related is down my alley. Overall, I recommend this to anyone wants to whip up some snacks from easy to medium levels. Thanks so much Netgalley, the authors and publishers for giving this book to read and review for ya'll.

As a mother I am always looking for something health my family will be willing to eat or try.

The book has a lot of variety when it comes to recipes, great photographic that will appeal to any foodie out there and as well the the author ability to take know food allergies out there and find replacements in the same recipes, is a wonderful surprise.

What time do we have to cook and prepare when you are a mother, wife and on the go constantly? We don’t! Most recipes in this book are quick and easy and can be made in one Sunday afternoon and prepared for the week. I am not a huge fan of peanut butter, or any kind of nut butters. But all the other recipes in this book look good and savory, some sweet. Great additions to our daily meals as a snack.

Thank you to Net Galley and Quarto Publishing/Fair Winds Press for a copy in return for my honest review.

You will find comfort recipes too - Savory Baked Chicken Nuggets made with chicken breasts, almond or cashew flour, grass-fed butter, garlic and cayenne pepper; Buffalo Chicken Wings made with arrowroot powder, chicken wings and gluten-free hot sauce, and also Homemade Beef Jerky that you can prepare in the oven!

Super Low-Carb Snacks is a new niche cookbook and tutorial collection of recipes specifically for low-carb alternatives to sweet snacks. Due out 6th Aug 2019 from Quarto on their Fair Winds Press imprint, it's 192 pages and available in paperback format.

The mainstream popularity of low carb / paleo eating seems to be here to stay. Research supports the notion of a healthy fat balanced diet lower in processed carbohydrates as a sensible choice in a varied diet. Humans are also built 'grazers' and our eating habits over thousands of years support the idea of several small meals over the course of a day is better for digestion, energy levels, awareness, and cognition than 3 large meals. This book addresses part of that need for snacking (the authors suggest that about 25% of our caloric intake generally comes from snacks according to a study from 2010).

This book includes 100 keto/paleo recipes for snacks including fat bombs, nut butters and more.

The authors make a good case for snacking in the introductory chapter along with a short tutorial for making some of the ingredients required for the following chapters. The introduction and basic ingredients recipes cover roughly 18% of the page content. The following chapters are arranged around the reader's schedule: school & work, at home, on the go, sippable, and safe snacking. There's also a short author bio with some links and an alphabetical index with recipes and ingredients listed by name.

I am very much a visual learner and one of my concerns with several cookbooks I've reviewed recently has been the lack of photography and serving suggestions. I know that photography can increase the cost of a published book significantly but it enhances the end result so much that in my case at least, it's a necessary part of any cookbook which I buy and use. I have no idea if it's a publishing or editing decision, but Quarto has a fantastic track record with their photography for cooking and crafts (gardening, fibre arts, etc) books. This one is no exception. The photography is clear, illustrative, and appealing. Every recipe (including the ones in the 'ingredients' chapters) is photographed in color. Really exceptional quality on the photography and graphics.

Each of the included recipes includes the descriptive name (Spiced Maple and Pecan Butter), a small circular graphic listing of special allergens or concerns (dairy free, egg free, or nut free), an ingredients list given in both American and standard measurements, yields, step by step instructions and nutritional information in a sidebar below the instructions.

This is a really well made recipe book with a bunch of appealing recipes. This would make a good gift for any foodie friends who are interesting in low carb snack foods. I intend to take some of these snacks to my next work function for my colleagues who are diabetic or are following low-carb diets for other reasons.

Five stars.

What a great place to find healthy snacks that are easy to make.

The photos will make your mouth water.

The recipes appear to be uncomplicated and contain only reasonable amounts of items. Several recipes for different butters are presented. After making a butter, recipes using it are contained here.

I received an ARC from Quarto Publishing Group through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This in no way affects my opinion or rating of this book.

Fair Winds Press and NetGalley provided me with an electronic copy of Super Low-Carb Snacks: 100 Keto and Paleo Treats for Fat Burning and Great Nutrition. I was under no obligation to review this cookbook and my opinion is freely given.

I found this cookbook to be a contradiction of sorts. The introduction starts with the importance of healthy snacking, yet there are many variations of snacks that the author calls "fat bombs." These snacks are high in fat, but low in protein and carbohydrates, and are too heavily laden to be considered healthy in my book. I do like how the author takes the time to give a designation of dairy-free, nut-free, or egg-free with a symbol at the top of each recipe, making it easier for readers who have those dietary restrictions. I have long held to the principle that snacking is good for you, as it keeps the blood sugar levels stable, so I was excited to try the recipes in this book. Picking and choosing carefully, I was able to find a few well balanced snacks to enjoy.

Right off the bat, the homemade nut butters and sugar free chocolates are first among the recipes that I will make. The nut butters are very expensive in the stores, so I would prefer to make my own in smaller quantities. I especially like the Almond and Cashew Butter (p. 11) and the Chocolate Hazelnut Butter (pp. 14-15). There is also a recipe for Homemade Dark Chocolate Three Ways (pp. 32-33), delectable and also sugar free.

The section on School and Work Snacks has great options for kids, such as Savory Baked Chicken Nuggets (pp. 38-39), coated with an almond meal/sesame seed mixture and spiced at a reasonable level for children's palates. Bacon & Egg Maple Muffins (pp. 58-59) are a great alternative for a quick breakfast.

At-Home Snacks includes many healthy and delicious offerings that may even get non-veggie eaters to ask for a second helping. My favorites in this section are Kale Salad (pp. 68-69), healthy and nutritious, and Zesty Walnut Brussels Sprouts (pp. 72-73).

On-The-Go Snacks vary from the family favorite sweets snacks like Crispy Maple Granola (pp. 96-97), with its mixture of nuts, coconut, and maple syrup glaze, to Chocolate Chip Muffins (pp. 102-103), moist and delicious. There are also savory offerings, such as Rosemary-Cheese Crackers (p. 108) and Spiced Walnuts (p. 112).

Many of the recipes in the section designated as Sippable Snacks are high in calories and fat, with some of the finished dishes boasting fat content in the 90% range. Although many of the smoothies look delicious, I would decline to try any of them because of the aforementioned unhealthy levels.

The Safe Snacking section is nut-free, but I wish there were more options for those who need to eat both dairy-free and egg-free. The recipes have either one or the other, with the exception of a few seed and veggie options, as well as a sweet treat or two. There are a couple of standouts in this section, though, such as Chocolate-Avocado Truffles (pp. 170-171), looking especially delicious and delectable, as well as Pumpkin-Snickerdoodle Truffles (pp. 182-183), sugar free little bites that are reminiscent of pumpkin pie.

Overall, there are a few recipes in Super Low-Carb Snacks that I can fully get behind, but there are not enough recipes that I would make that would warrant buying the physical copy of this cookbook. Readers who are not scared off by high fat snacks may find this cookbook more to their liking.

So many really good recipes. From sweet to savoury, there is something for everyone and every taste. Snacks to take to school or work, snacks you might want to eat at home.

My personal favourites were the cauliflower hummus and the Hempseed Squares. Both easy to follow recipes and tasty results.

This beautifully photographed cookbook contains 100 Super Low-Carb Snacks.

By lowering the carbs, something has to go up. I was hoping it would be the protein but most of these self-described “fat bombs” are well over 50% fat. In addition, most of the recipes have high calorie counts due to this excessive fat. If you are keto and trying to keep below 50 net carbs, just two snacks may use that up leaving nothing for your meals.

However, there is good news. The food looks delicious in full color pictures. Almost every recipe has its own picture. All the recipes are gluten-free and indicate when they are also nut, dairy and/or egg-free. The nutritional information includes carbs, protein, and fat by weight and percentage. It also shows calories and fiber.

While there are many fat bombs of nut butters and cheese balls, there are also crackers, snack bars, and candy. But my favorite is Green Deviled Eggs & Bacon, which are kind of avocado toast for grain-free folks. 68% fat but at only 164 calories for two halves, it’s not too bad a hit especially with 10 grams of protein.

Overall, Super Low-Carb Snacks may, or may not, work for your diet—only you can decide. Regardless, the beautiful photographs, clear instructions, and comprehensive nutritional information makes this a 4 star cookbook.

Thanks to Fair Winds Press and NetGalley for a wished for copy in exchange for my honest review.

I received a free e-copy of Super Low-Carb Snacks: 100 Delicious Keto and Paleo Treats for Fat Burning and Great Nutrition by Martina Šlajerová from NetGalley for my honest review.

A wonderful recipe book with smart and healthy choice snacking. I was extremely impressed with this cookbook. It is refreshing to know there are good, healthy choices and wonderful recipes we can choose from for snacking versus all the bad and tempting options out there.

From homemade nut butters (coconut pecan butter, eggnog macadamia butter to berry nut butter) to homemade chocolates and many fun snack choices, such as: sun dried tomato chicken sliders, cauliflower pizza bites, cheesy kale chips, cauliflower hummus, cashew chicken dip, mini zucchini muffins, peanut butter cookies, creamy keto coffee, pumpkin pie smoothie and more.

The recipes are delicious, healthy and lots of fun to make.

Super Low-Carb Snacks Is such a fabulous book of low carb snacks that this reader and keto follower is flipping through, marking pages and looking forward to trying. I found it helpful right out of the gate with the introduction;, an easy to read section filled with helpful information on the benefits of low carb snacking. The authors do this in an easy to understand way that gave me some good insight into the "why's" of snacking. I'm not entirely new to this lifestyle and a nurse AND still learned from this section. I mostly loved that many of the recipes use the same ingredients so it isn't going to break the bank to make several of them. I'll be trying some of the fat bombs and the Favorite Cracker recipe today. Many thanks to Quarto Publishing Group – Fair Winds Press and Netgalley for the chance to read this temporary digital advanced copy for an honest review. I enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their low carb lifestyle.

Having recently gone to a dietitian and being told I'm not eating enough, I was extremely interested in reading this galley. Right off the bat, I was happy to read 'the importance of healthy snacking' since I'm always torn about the benefits of snacking (done right of course) versus eating what's in the break room. The book is simply and beautifully laid out with macronutrient ratios included (very helpful!) and great recipes I'd never consider ('chocolate chip cookie butter' anyone?! or maybe some 'herbed cheese fat bombs'?! 'pumpkin chocolate chip muffins?!'). This book has renewed my excitement for trying new healthy snacks and has kicked me out of an incredibly long rut where I was eating the same (healthy) things every day.

Excellent recipes and snack ideas for beginners and not so beginners in the low carb lifestyle. I have tried the low carb lifestyle for a while and I am always happy to get new tips and new ideas. This book had some great ones and is a must have for low carb eaters no matter where they are on their healthy eating journey.

These recipes sound delicious! There are some weird ingredients that I don't use but are now readily found in most grocery stores. There doesn't appear to be anything too difficult and most are very simple and quick to make.

Sometimes I feel like I've seen it all as far as low-carb foods but I actually got some inspiration from this book and look forward to trying quite a few of the recipes.

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Easy to read recipe book with colorful pictures. The layout is well done and accessible. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was that many of the recipes have ingredients that are not commonly bought and not quick to bake or cook.

Martina Slajerova, Dana Carpender, and Landria Voigt have teamed up to create a beautifully illustrated book of snacking ideas for those eating paleo or low carb. I am impressed by the variety, and by the availability of recipes for restricted diets. The photos make the options look delicious and the instructions make them seem doable. There are recipes for nut butters, and as those are expensive items it will be interesting to see what savings happen from making them at home. There is a section dedicated to "fat bombs" and they look extremely doable. I appreciated that there arent a lot of exotic ingredients, most of them are easily obtainable.
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.

I've recently been attempting to try low- carb/keto and have found it difficult because I have a super sweet tooth and just didn't know what to eat. It's a little easier to find dinner ideas, but snacks, especially ones for my sweet tooth that aren't long, difficult processes are a little different. Sometimes I do want cookies or brownies, but other times I don't want to sit and wait for a cake to bake and cool. Sometimes I want something that I can make and eat over the bowl like a goblin who hasn't eaten in a month.
This book has both.
Seriously, the first chapter would make this worth the purchase for me. I didn't even get through it before I started adding ingredients to my shopping list. Seriously, coconut pecan butter, get in my belly NOW.

Now, down to the info. This book assumes you already know the ins and outs of eating low-carb and saves you the chapter on reviewing it. If you aren't familiar, there are tons of articles online that would be way more helpful anyways.
Each recipe is easy to read and very detailed. There is an at a glance icon at the top of each recipe to warn you if the recipe contains common allergens (nuts, dairy, egg) and each recipe contains nutritional info, including a macro ration for those that count macros.
It also contains a serving size, which is beyond helpful because "yields 36 cookies" is apparently not the same as a serving size... not that I've done that.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got some nut butters and fat bombs calling my name.

This is a well thought out book of recipes without carbs! The less carbs eat, the better I always feel, so I enjoyed this cookbook and will definitely use several of the recipes. I appreciate that the offer, at the beginning, differentiated between different kinds of diets such as low-carb, Keto,, and paleo.

Thanks to Netgalley, the author, and publisher for an advanced reading copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Fair Winds Press for a copy of Super Low-Carb Snacks, 100 Delicious Keto and Paleo Treats for Fat Burning and Great Nutrition by Martina Slajerova, Dana Carpender, and Landria Voigt. This cookbook starts with an introduction all about snacking including the fact that 24% of our calories are from snacks.

Then come the chapters with the recipes. Chapter 1 is Basics, things like nut butters that can be used in other recipes. Some of my favorite recipes from Chapter 1 are the Chocolate-Hazelnut Butter and Berry Nut Butter. Chapter 2 is for school and work snacks. These recipes focus on protein which improves concentration levels and Omega-3s and other beneficial fatty acids which are crucial to a well-functioning brain. My favorite recipes were Bacon Cauliflower Soup, Cauliflower Pizza Bites, Supersmart Bars.

Chapter 3 is At-Home Snacks, which can also be considered “appetizers.” My favorite recipes from this chapter are Cauliflower Hummus and Roasted Pepper Dip. Chapter 4 is On the Go Snacks and includes recipes that are easy to transport, including Chocolate Chip Muffins and Chile-Lime Peanuts. Chapter 5 is Sippable Snacks including Creamy Dark Hot Chocolate and Chocolate Hazelnut Smoothies. The last chapter is Safe Snacking which includes nut/dairy/egg free recipes. From Chapter 6 I really enjoyed the Chocolate Avocado Truffles and Stilton and Chive Fat Bombs.

The book started with pictures with every recipe, but there were fewer pictures as you read on. There are also a few hard to find ingredients. There was a great index that was searchable by ingredient, not just by recipe. Overall this book was okay, but not my favorite. I am not much of a snack person, so that does affect my opinion. I did find many new ways to eat Cauliflower. Overall, I did like the variety of recipes, but will not be making them too often.

This book is good for those following a low carb lifestyle and this author has many other books on the topic - I purchased one just the other week having heard good things about low carb eating.

The Super Low-Carb Snacks book is split into six chapters. It includes Basics, School & work snacks, At-home snacks, On-the-go snacks, Sippable snacks and Safe snacking.

When thinking snacking, this book is not all about the sweet treats as the School & Work snacks focuses on savory snacks such as baked chicken nuggets and Italian Meatballs to name a few. The Basic chapter provides recipes for many nut butters and homemade chocolate. Many of the snacks need to be prepared in advance and are also suitable for children when they get home from school.

For those with allergens, it displays a key at the top of the recipe if it is dairy, egg or nut free, though I found these a little confusing - I kept thinking the key meant it was there, even with the line through it! However there is a whole chapter dedicated to leaving out dairy, eggs and nuts in safe snacking.

The recipes are in both imperial and metric measurements and come with nutritional facts, plus the macronutrient ratios that is important for those following a keto eating plan. It has ingredients that call for sweeteners and alternative flours such as almond. Most of the recipes come with a colour photograph.

I received this book from Netgalley in return for a honest review.

I am starting a low carb diet and I am looking forward to trying some of these snacks. Most of them have simple ingredients and appear easy to make. The lemon cheesecake fat bombs are delicious! I am ready to try more!
Many thanks to Quarto Publishing and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Having gone Keto for about 4 months now, one of the things that I can tell you is that it can be expensive to go low carb. Nut butter is a great snack, but can be costly and comes in such large quantities that it can be difficult to go through a whole jar before it expires. I really appreciated learning how to make my own version of nut butter, because I can tailor it to how much food I use. I think the thing that I appreciate most about this book is that unlike looking for recipes online and on blogs, you can read the recipe and ingredients very easily, as opposed to scrolling for what seems like forever as you search for the steps and number of net carbs. I liked the break down of chapters and the most useful to my life has been the snacks for work. Sometimes you need a sweet pick me up, and the recipes for sugar free chocolate have been crucial to making it past the 3 pm slump. I really appreciate the variety of recipes and would recommend if you're looking for a way to keep a keto lifestyle.

They should have added the word "delicious" to the title honestly. Each recipe looks much more delicious than the previous one. The photography is amazing and now I'm hungry!

This book mentions the health benefits of eating snacks especially with how it helps in concentration. Each recipe has a nutritional value and mentions whether it has the 3 allergens (nut, dairy or egg). At the end of the book, there's a chapter with recipes that doesn't include said allergens. The book mentions it is keto and Paleo diet friendly.

Overall, I would recommend 100% to anyone even if they aren't on diet simply because the recipes look and sound good. My favorites are the butters, chicken and salad recipes.

My husband and I did keto for over a year so there weren't a ton of recipes that were all that different from what I already knew. I do like that there were so many in one place and I think this cookbook would be helpful for anyone entering a low-carb/keto lifestyle.
