I really enjoyed many of the meal options in this book. I would recommend this especially for someone who is new to plant based diets. The recipe photos were bright and colorful and almost all recipes had a photo, which is a must for me, I have added a couple recipes to my meal planning this week.
Beautiful, well organized, and it looks so tasty! I like how the recipes are listed as multi-recipe meal prep as opposed to single day dishes, and I like how the shopping list is included. I will certainly buy this book when it is available.
Plant Based Meal Prep by Stephanie Tornatore and Adam Bannon is an easy to use guide with lots of recipes and meal plans. It makes it easy to add new recipes that are plant based. Since I struggle to come up with new, balanced and nutritious meals, it was a real help.
I got this book to look at with my brother who has become a vegetarian. We really enjoyed it! The book is well written, the recipes are clear and very easy, and the pictures look amazing! Pictures are always the best part of a cookbook because it makes you want to try out the recipe! I will be making some of this stuff for myself and my brother has been enjoying trying out recipes for himself.
This is a colorful, well done plant-based cookbook that focuses on make-ahead recipes and meal prep while still relying on fresh, whole foods for the recipes. I love that it's both vegan and gluten free, but GF in a healthy way with a focus on ingredients like almond flour instead of processed starches and nutritionally lacking flours like white rice flour. It uses icons to show which recipes are also paleo, soy free and so on. I also really like the focus on healthy recipes and lower sugar while still caring that recipes are tasty. Nutritional information is provided for each recipe, another great feature. Recipes are pretty easy and the ingredients are pretty standard (think almond flour, beans, quinoa, fresh vegetables, cashews, coconut oil and hearts of palm). The authors (a husband and wife team) are friendly and likeable, and it's very cool that they each have their own recipes that reflect their personal styles and tastes. They also provide recipes for plant-based, whole foods alternatives to sour cream, parmesan, etc. The desserts look particularly decadent while still focusing on being real foods and lower in sugar.
I do wish there were more photos. There are great color pictures of about 1/4 of the recipes and I really like a photo of every recipe. That said, this is a clever cook book that is likely to please a lot of folks.
I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for the purpose of review.
