Description
A business parable that teaches the value of cultivating multiple streams of income—the surest, most achievable means of creating generational wealth. The Honey Bee tells the story of Noah—a disappointed, disaffected salesman who feels like his life is going nowhere until the day he has a chance encounter with a man named Tom Barnham, the beekeeper. In his charming, down-home way, Tom the “Bee Man” teaches Noah and his wife Emma how to grow their personal wealth using the lessons he learned from his beekeeping passion. Full of concrete lessons delivered through chapter after chapter of engaging vignettes, each of which includes actionable advice for new or aspiring entrepreneurs. Workbook-style sections at the end of each chapter help bring the lessons home, including questions to help you apply the lessons to your own business, and links to rich digital resources for even more information on how to get started creating your own multiple streams of income.

Very engaging story that teaches to create multiple revenue streams. Sometimes a business book shouldn't be just a theory that includes real business cases. Sometimes it is even more captivating to "walk through" a life story that coaches you in business. This book is one of those that will capture your attention while observing the circumstances described and drive through real business cases you can apply in your own life.
This book popped up in my “Read Now” galley on NetGalley and I wanted to read it because I can’t seem to get my finances in check, and also I’ve been exploring modes of investing and saving that go beyond the ordinary “chama” that we have here in Kenya.
The authors take a fictional approach to unpack six lessons that they’ve learned in the course of their lives and financial investments. It’s a short book, easy to read and I love the kind of books that make you want to sit down and re-evaluate your life.
This one does so in the most creative way- there’s the final section in each chapter that summarizes the lessons learned and each lesson builds upon the previous one.
I’m yet to meet anyone who hasn’t struggled with managing their finances and for as long as we can make money, there’s also the desire to find as many ways of doing so, and never running out it. This is why I feel a lot of people would relate to this book.
The greatest lesson I learned from this book is:
Create Streams of Purpose: Money isn’t your reason, it only finds it.
"The Honey Bee" reminded me of "The Phoenix Project," which also used a fictional story format (a novel, in Phoenix's case) to teach the basics of targeted business concepts. "The Honey Bee" uses a parable to teach about success and balance in business (and life in general, really). This approach makes what could otherwise be a bland or intimidating topic accessible to a broad audience interested in learning about business and the business mindset on the road to success.
