Eight days on the road was too long for three children, Mom and Dan, and of course, a mouse named Henry.
Rylan lives with his family in Alaska and when is father comes home from leave in the armed forces, he tells his family they are moving to South Carolina. Over 4,000 miles of driving, things to see, and hopefully nothing gets lost like a mouse named Henry. Rylan and his family have mixed emotions about leaving, but like good parents, both mom and dad ease their children's fears and look forward to what they will be coming home too. A great read for kids to realize what home really means.
The book is geared toward Elementary Age children with child like drawings of the what Rylan was feeling. A great read for kids to get ready for a big move.
A Special Thank you to AuthorHouse and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
Moving Again!!! With Rylan and Henry by Christy Jordan Wrenn
Children's book about a military family living in Alaska. Ryan is the young boy who has a pet mouse that he takes everywhere with him.
Husband had moved 18 times before I had met him, we moved into an apartment together, and then a house shortly afterwards. Not sure how much more we will be moving, hope never.
One night at dinner their dad arrives home after being deployed for many months. They get to spend time with him til they learn they are to move back to the lower states of US.
They will get to spend time with relatives as they will now be living closer to them.
Part I loved the best was the road trip and learning and seeing all kinds of new things. Love the nature and animals they came across and locations.
Some pictures are very dark to see what they are...

Thank you @netgalley and AuthorHouse for the review copy of this book. This book is part of a series. It's really a great children's book that talks about moving families and the journey and adventure they have while they move from place to place. The story is about Rylan and his pet mouse who has to travel to South Carolina from Alaska. Rylan is unsure of the move but is trying his best to not let his worry of moving to a new place stop him from having fun. The book is filled with what looks like hand-drawn pictures portraying the scenes in the story. The pictures were great and kids would love to see the pictures as well. I think it's a great book for kids to pick up and read. I would suggest it's great for military families who do a great deal of shifting between places because of their deployment.
I thought that this was a lovely book.
The author tells the story in the book of a military family who is moving…again!
This will be their third move and this one will be a long journey that they are taking which will involve them driving long distances over a few days.
I liked how the story focussed on Rylan and his “pet” mouse – Henry and their friendship and his worries that he will be leaving Henry behind.
I thought that the images suited the book, but they were a little dark at times and could maybe do with being a little brighter but overall it was well told – 5 stars!
