Description
Roanne O'Casey has no desire to wed…but is under the control of an ancient prophecy. Fate takes away her choice when the fiercely independent Irishwoman is forced to marry the enemy, an Englishman…and is swept off her feet.
Simon Lancaster never intends to wed, but he agrees to marry the redhead in the rollicking Irish pub, in front of her rowdy brothers, as an amusing lark. His attraction for Roanne grows until he learns of his brother's death, and evidence points to one of her brothers.
When Roanne accompanies her husband to England, she walks into a trap for a killer. How can she solve the murder and win Simon's heart?

I enjoyed reading this book. I like romances and historical fiction. This book includes both. I did like the odd way that they get together, but I was lost as to why he was so upset about his brother's death and why he accused his brothers-in-law. He hated his brother, yet he was respectful of his new family. To me, it seemed out of character. From what he told us before in the book, he should have been doing a jig.
An Englishman arrives in Ireland to check on family holdings, but stops at an inn to wait for repairs on his brother's carriage. The carriage bears the family crest and naturally everyone would think he's a lord. Only Simon is the spare and is only there as a favor for his brother. Plied with ale, Simon finds himself married to an Irish lass to fulfill a prophecy. Throw in a possible murder, misunderstandings, eleven brothers, an annoying prophecy, and some humor for a delightful love story of an Irish lass and a former English privateer. I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book.
4 1/2 STARS
I enjoyed reading this book because I like historical novels and also anything to do with Ireland. There was enough twists and turns in the story to keep me interested. I recommend this book to be read if you like historical novels .
This book has a lot going on. If you like romance mixed with an ancient prophecy then pick up this book! I liked the main characters and enjoyed the book overall.
I loved this book for three factors: Irish theme, romance and an ancient course!
The book was well written. The story easy to follow and since it made me swoon over the characters in this book I am giving it a 5 star review! It totally deserves it!
The book is set in Irish times. I was looking to read the Irish brogue, but the book didn’t give it. The story has some interest to it. It’s easy to read. I found the characters enjoyable. They brought good entertainment to the love story. The story reads at a fast pace and seems to hold people’s attention.
