A killer list for the coming year's books -- excited to have had some sneak peeks! I'm honestly more excited by the list up front that revealed there's a new Sigrid Nunez coming this fall (among others) than I was by most of the excerpts, but the excerpts are still exciting too!

Great review of books coming up, lots of different genres as always. I personally like the look of The Chanel Sisters and not an author I have read before.

This collection has quite an array of fiction and non-fiction titles by various authors from the household names to the debut titles and let's just say I was intrigued most by "Cher Ami and Major Whittlesey by Kathleen Rooney" because well, a story told from the viewpoint of a pigeon? Now that's something.
Thanks netgalley for the earc.

Buzz Books is such a resource! Sure, I follow publishers' announcements, hang out on bookstagram, and read "highly anticipated book" lists, but I still learn something new each time Buzz Books comes out.

Structurally, there's a list at the front, with titles, authors, publishers, and publication dates. (There's Fiction, with subheds for The Notables, Highly Anticipated, Emerging Voices; followed by Debut and Commercial Fiction. Nonfiction is divided into Politics & Current Events; Social Issues; Science & Technology; History & Crime; Essays, Criticism, & More; and Biography & Memoir.)

This giant, awesome list is followed by excerpts from 30 books.

Truly, I'd love to read the entire list of books mentioned in Buzz Books, much less all 30 that are excerpted. But as we all know, there are too many books and too little time. So, I'm especially grateful to Buzz Books for not only putting all these on my radar, but also providing excerpts so I can prioritize those that seem most interesting or compelling to me. I love reviewing books in my "wheelhouse" and getting to hype excellent forthcoming books - thank you to Buzz Books for helping me do both better!

Always Fun

Kindle samples are fairly generous. But, they only become available once a book has been released. These "Buzz Books" collections are loaded with pre-release samples, which means you get a look at upcoming titles well before they are otherwise available. Some, but not all, of the books are on Netgalley, so if you're active on that site you will also have the option of requesting full ARC's for titles that catch your eye.

The overall appeal of the collection will vary according to your reading interests. For me this was a less rewarding group than has been the case in the past. But that may be because there were more thrillers and murder mysteries, and fewer interesting non-fiction choices, than usual. And Lethem is always fun.

So, since it's a freebie and loaded with books that are at least sample-worthy it's hard to pass up this nice opportunity to browse.

It seems like forever in more ways than one since Buzz Books 2020:Spring/Summer edition was published. Somehow, just when I was yearning to add more books to my TBR list, Buzz Books 2020:Fall/Winter edition arrived. Oddly though, there were no horn parades, fireworks, or cake, but I recognized what this was anyway. Many, many hours of good reading to come and my TBR list sighed in satisfaction.

If you are not familiar with Buzz Books, it is a way to get a taste of some of the buzziest books. This edition has thirty excerpts from Fiction(Debut,
Commercial, Notables, Highly-Anticipated, and Emerging Voices), and Non-Fiction(Politics & Current Events, Social Issues, Science & Technology, History & Crime, and Biography & Memoir). In addition to excerpts, or if you don't enjoy reading them, you can also see what many authors plan to publish.

As always, I devoured this book and added more than a few to my list. I had a difficult time( as usual) picking the five I was most excited to continue reading: The Witch Hunter by Max Seeck, Leave The World Behind by Rumaan Alam, The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, Before the Ruins by Victoria Gosling, and The Garden of Spite by Camilla Bruce. There are many others I could recommend, by why spend time reading this when you could be reading this book!

I'm glad I stumbled upon the Buzz Books Great Reads for Fall/Winter 2020. It contains books of interest that will be published later on in the year and includes excerpts of the books that they believe will do well. They have quite a selection to chose from and this is a great resource to see what's coming!!

Some great books on offer here - as usual the standard is extremely high. Unusually though, only one of the books I clicked through on was available to request - hopefully there's better luck next time.
Regardless of my bad luck with requestable books, I still look forward to these Buzz collections twice a year - they're not only a great sampler of upcoming releases, but a remarkably accurate market gauge.

Every time I see a new Buzz Books, I immediately download. I enjoyed seeing what to expect for the fall and winter months. For those new to Buzz Books, you will find included a summary of books that will release during a particular season. This collection is a fabulous way to start adding new to your to-be-read!

In this troubled time of curbside pickup, the Buzz Books 2020: Fall and Winter is an invaluable resource for finding new books and authors to read.

When looking for a new book to read in a bookstore or library, everyone reads the blurb on the back or the front flap. If intrigued, most people will read the first chapter or two. This compendium of books offers the same ability, for free and in your own home—no face covering required.

The books included here run the gamut of genres with literary fiction, mystery, science fiction, young adult, and non-fiction all included. I’m sure most readers will find a few books that fit their tastes. Publisher’s Lunch also has a Spring/Summer 2020 Book Buzz available for those impatient readers looking for a book now. They also publish a separate Book Buzz for romance fans. All three books are free for Kindle readers on Amazon.

For book reviewers, there is a NetGalley link to request the book. At least one book is available to read now on Edelweiss+ too because I had already downloaded it before this Buzz Book was released. Overall, the Buzz Books 2020: Fall and Winter is a useful tool for readers. The only downside is the lack of genre labeling but a quick read of the summary can usually provide the answer. 4 stars!

Thanks to Publisher’s Lunch and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

Thanks to publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book. While I got the book for free, it had no bearing on the rating I gave it.

All thoughts and opinions are mine

I love these Buzz Books and really enjoy going through them
They list what's up and coming in the publishing world and whet's the appetite in letting you read excerpts and chapters so when the book comes up for advanced reading I usually can't wait to get stuck in

Would thoroughly recommend

Plenty of diversity here. Excerpts key to getting a sense of author’s voice. Most excited about Sue Miller’s Monogamy. Haven’t read her in a long time; her insight reminds me of Ann Patchett’s who I have kept up with, mostly recently with her exceptional The Dutch House. Also looking forward to The Chanel Sisters by Judith Little. Have read two beautifully written books about Chanel, but didn’t know she had a sister. Third is Cher Ami and Major Whittlesy by Kathleen Rooney.. Great way to learn about upcoming titles to consider reviewing. Thanks.

Love this - a great way to get a feel for upcoming books! Definitely looking forward to some great reads this fall and winter!

As usual, this collection of previews is full of exciting new releases. The four big stand outs for me that will be immediate must buys are;
In the Garden of Spite by Camilla Bruce (this book looks like a terrifying read - I can hardly wait)
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig (HOW DREAMY!!)
Black Widows by Cate Quinn (The polygamy spite conspiracy wives murder husband story we’ve all been waiting for!!)
We Were Restless Things (this one just seems utterly haunting)

I really appreciate that this includes a full list of books, broken down by genre. It then goes into highlighting each book independently and includes an excerpt, synopsis, and publisher information as well. I get really excited to read it every time it’s released. I hope that Publishers Lunch never stops making this.

I am especially looking forward to the books to be published by these authors: Fredrik Backman, Alice Hoffman, Matt Hoig, Lisa Jewell, Aimee Malloy, and Wendy Walker. Crossing fingers that I can read and review all of them.

Fall is the time of year that I am always excited to see what new books are being published and this year looks especially promising. There are books coming out by well known authors, but also some newbies that sound really great. Personally, I am most looking forward to Becky Cooper’s true crime book, We Keep the Dead Close and Sue Miller's Monogamy. I am going to have a hard time deciding which ones to order for my library because so many of them sound good.

This was my first time reading a buzz book and it could not have been more perfectly suited for me. I always say I'll give a book 50 pages to win me over, otherwise I'm going to move on to the next one. Too many great books suited for me and not enough time to spend it reading books that just aren't for me. So this book of excerpts was amazing.

This has really helped me to figure out which upcoming fall/winter 2020/2021 releases I do and not have an interest in reading. I seriously LOVE excerpts. And to top it off, it has links to each excerpt! It's so easy to navigate.

Seriously, head to Netgalley and get it!

Thank you for creating such a brilliant book!

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is my first experience with Buzz Books and quite frankly I'm upset with myself for not finding it sooner! This is a fantastic way to preview upcoming books for the next season and start gathering my newest TBR list. This will also help me in recommending books to my students and friends based on their own personal interests. The links to the NetGalley pages at the end of each except is also helpful for the books I would like to request ARCs for.

The most exciting time of the year when early readers discover new titles and new authors!

A preview of the best of the new books for the season and it's FREE!

Fiction is broken down into categories such as Notables (John Banville's SNOW, Marilynne Robinson's JACK, and Jane Smiley's PERESTROIKA IN PARIS); Highly Anticipated (Sue Miller's MONOGAMY); Emerging Voices; Debut (BEFORE THE RUINS, THE THURSDAY MURDER CLUB, and SET MY HEART TO FIVE); Commercial Fiction (Jodi Picoult, Carl Hiaasen, and Nora Roberts. (There are also numerous categories for Non-Fiction.)

Even though it was the top of the my list for the BUZZ BOOKS 2020 SPRING/SUMMER I did not get a copy of Emily St. John Mandel's (sequel to STATION ELEVEN) THE GLASS HOTEL to review. But I just finished reading Gail Godwin's OLD LOVEGOOD GIRLS and decided I was brilliant because it was amazing. I also read and enjoyed Barbara Delinsky's beach read A WEEK AT THE SHORE.

First introduced for the 2012 Book Expo America, the FREE digital Publishers Lunch Buzz Books has become the place for both industry professionals and book lovers in general to discover and read about the books expected to spark high demand BEFORE they are published!

What's really great is that after many selections, you have the option to follow a link and request the complete galley copy from Net Galley if you qualify as a 'professional' reader.

Check out Buzz Books on Amazon. Did I mention it's FREE!

Basically, the edition is a list of books to be published in the time period covered by the book, and a few hundred pages of excerpts from select books on the list. Usually two chapters totaling a dozen or so pages are included in the excerpt from each book. The Fall/Winter 2020 edition was over 450 hundred pages long: approximately twenty pages listing the notable books to be published in the timeframe; over 400 pages of book excerpts and related material. The book excerpts were divided into four categories - fiction, debut, nonfiction, young adult - with the vast majority of the excerpts being in the fiction category. There were only three excerpts in the nonfiction section, which I found disappointing because, in the lists, I had found at least three nonfiction books to share with my father and another two just for me.

I wasted a good evening sorting through and researching titles from the list of books. In the end, I found over a dozen on the list to look up in Goodreads for further details. Five of my favorite fiction authors - Charles Baxter, Paulo Coehlo, Jasper Fforde, Mary Gordon, Chuck Palahniuk - were publishing new books in this timeframe. Not to mention the fascinating nonfiction books I found, which spanned from a medical history book of the period between Homer and Hippocrates to a sociology focused on the importance of women’s voices. And then there were several that I decided that weren’t for me after the Goodreads research, like Jane Smiley’s forthcoming novel “Perestroika in Paris.” However, the best discovery that I made during my research was that many of the books that I was interested in were also available on NetGalley. So more of my evening slipped away doing research there before making any requests.

Approximately 400 pages of excerpts and related material seemed much more manageable than the previous edition. But it was still going to take me a long time to get through.

The Midnight Library was the first book in the collection that enthralled me enough to read in full. I loved its quirky approach to storytelling. The excerpt left off right where Nora received her book of regrets and was about to pink life choice to undo first, which was too much of a cliffhanger for me to abide. From the little that I read (including the comments on NetGalley) it seemed like a hipper Mitch Albom novel. I’m holding out hope for Nora to get sucked back into living, and going after her second chance life with gusto!

The Chanel Sisters was another excerpt that caught my eye. A few years ago, I was captivated by Mademoiselle Chanel by CW Gortner; however, despite my overwhelmingly positive impression of the book, I remember very little of it. I had read The Dress Thief quite quickly afterward, so the details of the two get confounded in my mind. Therefore, I look forward to reading about the trials - and successes - of Coco Chanel through the viewpoint of her younger sister Antoinette. Curiously, a girlfriend who watches my Goodreads account added this to her TBR list shortly after I did (which was right after I requested the book on NetGalley).

At first, Cher Ami and Major Whittlesey did not seem to be in my wheelhouse at all. I’m not a fan of talking animal books. But the more I heard Cher Ami’s voice, the more I felt comfortable living in her head. The chapter about Major Whittlesey sealed my fate. It ended with the foreshadowing of a significant event in the near future, and I felt bereft by the end of the excerpt. So I’m going to add this to my TBR list - and request the galley- just so I can assure myself that the good major stays safe and sane.

When the Apricots Bloom was the only one of the nine excerpts from debut authors that caught my interest. The Middle East setting has long been one of my catnips. The beginning chapters were ordinary enough, but I’m curious to see how it all develops. Since the publication date is in December, I may hold off on requesting this through NetGalley until I can get my current lists under control.

The three excerpts in the nonfiction section were about Dutch resistance fighters in World War II, an unsolved murder in Boston, and burnout in the millennial generation. I don’t think I’ll add any of these three to my to be read list (least of all the millennial book). However, I can never tell if one of them is going to haunt in the days after posting my review and deleting my galley.

I completely skipped the three excerpts in the Young Adult section. I haven’t been reading young adult since Veronica Roth’s Divergent series and, quite frankly, the novelty of reading excerpts had worn off. So rather than soldier through the rest of the book, I decided to declare victory and move on to one of the new books that I had requested in the course of digesting the Buzz Books volume.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book for anyone with eclectic tastes or anyone who is capable of making a decision about whether a book suits them after only a dozen or so pages. If you need to know how everything works out, then you’re either going to hate the book or you’re going to end up with a massive TBR list.

I received this book as a digital advance reader copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

THIS IS GENIUS! I absolutely LOVE that you have snippets of each book and that you pre-release this grouping so that we can select a book of interest with a bit of a sample before committing to the entire book.

Also, who doesn't love to know what's up and coming for the year??!! This is really, really great!

Thank you Publishers Lunch, Publishers Lunch BUZZ BOOKS and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review. Always so grateful for the opportunity to read complimentary books!

I really appreciate and enjoy curated information especially about books and general writing insights. NetGalley is in an excellent position to curate, analyse and promote many books to be published with leading publishers. The huge benefit for reading addicts, is the opportunity to see what’s coming from new and favourite authors.

Favourite authors are a given and I’ll read them anyway but for me, the huge value Buzz Books 2020: Fall/Winter brought, was the chance to read excerpts from the debut and emerging authors. The book is split into four parts: Fiction, Debut, Nonfiction and Young Adult, plus a very useful index.

An extremely useful reference and well worth getting your hands on. Some gems to look forward to and some exciting possibilities. Many thanks to Publishers Lunch and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC copy in return for an honest review.

This is a fantastic overview and preview of many of the upcoming book releases. The guide is divided into parts: a list of the many anticipated novels by genre and then a brief synopsis and excerpt from several select titles. Not only does this expose you to upcoming titles with which you may not be familiar, it also provides links to request the titles directly from Netgalley. This is an excellent resource for readers and reviewers.

Publishing has been in a bit of a funk lately (like everything else) because of COVID. Book releases have been delayed and even though there have been new releases, there hasn’t been the huge spring/summer influx that we have seen in previous years.

This has been a shot in the arm that I needed to get excited about the new books coming out in the fall/winter season. Of course, my TBR list took a bit hit. It had been looking pretty sparse lately, not that I was complaining, but it was nice to get excited about upcoming new releases. There are a couple of advantages that Buzz Books offers. One, it is a one stop shopping catalogue, if you enjoy going through the long list. The list is divided up into sections, making it easy to pick what you like. For example, if you aren’t into nonfiction, politics, then you can easily skip that section.

I waded through the first few categories which are basically all fiction, it is just split up into things like Debut authors, Highly Anticipated, Emerging Voices. For me, that is all one big category. The other thing I love about Buzz Books is that it has Commercial Fiction, which helps me stay up-to-date on all of my series that have new books coming out. This season there is John Grisham, Michael Connelly, Jeffrey Archer, Sandra Brown, Janet Evanovich, Vince Flynn, Robert Galbraith, Ken Follett, Danielle Steel, Elin Hilderbrand, Mary Higgins Clark, and Lisa Jewell just to name a few.

There was a nice selection of excerpts from upcoming releases that you can read a few chapters from and get a sense of whether or not you would like to add it to your list. These are lesser known authors but ones that have a lot of positive buzz around their releases. If you are a member of NetGalley you can click through and request an ARC for those you are interested in. Sometimes, if you are lucky, the link will allow you to read it rather than make a request.

This fall there might not be the plethora of books they usually release, but there is still an abundance of great books in every genre. I really am excited for the upcoming season because if we are under quarantine again, at least I will have some new books to keep me company.

As always another great sampling of what's to come this fall. My TBR list continues to grow. Thank you for this preview compilation.

It's always great to see a Buzz Books because it can help you know what's coming out and plan your requests. My feedback rate is terrible because when I first started requesting books, I thought, "Wow, this is awesome, I'm going to get all the books!" and was never able to read everything. With the Buzz Books, I can see which authors I"ll want to request so I don't get overloaded.

It's great to see what new books are on the horizon for this fall. I really enjoyed this overview and marked a few books to look for on netgalley. I'm most excited about the new book by Matt Haig, I'm hoping I'll get to read it early on here.

I love buzz books. When I have time to read more than just the material by authors I love who have written books I haven't read yet, I delve into new material and always always find a new favorite. Thanks to virtual BEA I am particularly looking forward to Ayad Akhtar and Matt Haig as my new authors to meet. But first I must jump into books by Alice H, Sue M, Yaa G, Emma C, and so forth. Thanks so much for these crumbs to sample before I eat the whole cake.

Quite a few books caught my attention in both the nonfiction and fiction genres. Those books including:

1. When the Apricots Bloom by Gina Wilkinson
2. Can't Even: How Millennials Became the Burnout Generation by Anne Helen Petersen

I'm looking forward to adding these to my TBR!

Thank you for sharing new titles so early on!

The Buzz Books 2020: Fall/Winter guide could not have come at a better time! Since many libraries across the nation are only allowing pick ups, meaning patrons cannot go in and browse what is new, it is more important than ever to have reliable reading suggestions in one convenient place. Whether you enjoy fiction or nonfiction titles, this guide has suggestions for all readers organized under headings such as "Emerging Voices,"
"Debut," and "Highly Anticipated." I have already added many titles to my "Want to Read" lists on Litsy and Goodreads.

Buzz Books 2020 has now made my To Read list even longer. I enjoyed the opportunity to read excerpts of the books of which I was intrigued by the summary. I was able to also make suggestions to the other readers in my house when I saw titles that I thought fit their reading interest. I particularly appreciated how the book included a Young Adult section, so I was able to preview upcoming books that I could add to my class library or possibly use in my instruction. My only wish is that there were more BIPOC authors highlighted.

This is a collection of book titles with some book chapters for books that will be published coming in 2020. This was a really good book for me to read because it gave me a good idea of some of the new releases, making me excited for the fall/winter publishing season (and giving me more books to request from NetGalley). This book helped me to see if there are any books that would be "wasting my time."

If you're looking for new books, I recommend reading this to make you excited for books to be released.

This book is amazing for a person who loves lists like I do! I like how there are lists for all the genres in the beginning of the book, each one in a separate list. After that, there are the selections that have excerpts. There is so much to look at and read in this volume! I found quite a few books that I've put on my own list.

I hadn't heard of Buzz Books until recently. I'm so glad that I did. These books will be a great asset to readers and reviewers alike. I have found quite a few books that I want to review and many more that I will read and review after they are published.

There is only one downfall that I see from this book; my TBR list is going to grow exponentially! I highly recommend this book to any book lover or reviewer looking for their next favorite read.

After reading/skimming the latest Buzz Books, I requested ARCs of Chanel Sisters and Evening and the Morning (Historical Fiction), We Keep the Dead Close (True Crime), and We Keep the Dead Close (YA). A fifth I would have loved to review but it isn't (yet?) available. I swore I was done with YA novels, just too many mediocre reads in that genre lately, but We Keep the Dead Close hooked me hard and I simply couldn't pass it up.

Some samples were a pass because the subject didn't interest me, I didn't like the 'voice', or some other bias, but that's the beauty of Buzz Books. Check out a bunch of upcoming books in no time before you decide what to really dig into!

Highly recommend.

BuzzBooks are a precious resource to find out the new books to read in the following months and as always I download them immediately!

This is a wonderful way to become familiar, in a short period of time, with a number of books not yet published. It is a collection of book excerpts, each of which is just long enough to reveal characteristics and writing style.

Thank you, NetGalley, for making this wonderful resource available! It's a great way to track new releases from authors you love, and discover new voices as well. I've added so many new books to my to-read list.

Love this as a resource, thank you! I will be using this to build out my fall reading guide, and I am looking forward to so many of these titles.

Looking forward to requesting a few in here! The Lethem is of particular interest. Matt Haig as well.

I always see these Buzz Books things and never look at them, but I'm glad I did. I discovered a lot of new books that I haven't heard were coming out yet, like new C. J. Tudor, Josh Malerman, the latest Cormoran Strike novel (I didn't even know it had a title yet!), and more. I am really excited about some of these upcoming books, which I have already started requesting and/or pre-ordering.

Always love the new edition of Buzz Books so I can get a preview of what is coming soon that I will want to read. I went through the entire list and looked up summaries for the books that are coming online to make those I want to read. Then I read several of the excerpts - they just make me want more! I requested galleys of the books I want the most from Netgalley and Edelweiss. There are some great books coming this Fall and Winter that I can't wait to read!

Thanks to Publishers Lunch through Netgalley for an advance copy of this book.

Buzz Books is an awesome resource to discover new upcoming releases. It is organized by a full list of books and authors, divided by categories like "Notables," "Highly Anticipated," "Emerging Voices," "Debut," "Commercial Fiction," "Nonfiction," "Polotical & Current Events," "Social Issues," etc. Then following this long list of releases comes more in depth previews of certain books with summaries and the first few chapter reproduced. I already see books on this list that I am interested in reading when they release! I highly recommend this resources for finding upcoming releases to anticipate.

Buzz Books 2020 Fall/Winter by Publishers Lunch
This is a quick snapshot of how NetGalley operates and there system. Then it’s a look at upcoming Fall and Winter books coming out that is a wonderful mixture of fresh new authors and established authors. I think it’s a great way to get a synopsis of titles and authors that you might not normally have considered because so many books come out on a daily basis, but this just gives you a chance to view a select mixture! I hope to get The Chanel Sisters, Black Widows, and The Thursday Murder Club just to name a few! I normally would not have chosen these books, but I hopefully will get them, if not I have them in my calendar to purchase because they sound fun and interesting!
I received this from NetGalley and I am willingly giving my thoughts and opinions!

Thank you NetGally and Publishers Lunch for a copy of this edition of Buzz Books.

I could get lost in this list of upcoming publications. If I had any less self-control, people wouldn't see me for days as I meticulously check each listing and add it to my "to-read" list.

This is getting me super excited for the Fall/Winter season and I can't wait for these books to hit the shelves.

I appreciate the time and effort it took to put this extensive list together.

It consists of books to be released in Fall/Winter of 2020. I think that there is a romance edition as well, so do check it out and do not miss on good books.

Thanks to NetGalley for this copy.

A great overview of books coming out later in 2020. It includes various lists and then summaries and sample chapters of some selected books. I liked there is a mix of well-known established authors and some new authors too, as well as a mix of genres. Definitely have added some more on my TBR and looking forward to many of these- particularly the Ken Follett prequel.

A brilliant way to sample a variety of authors and stories. Very easy to dip into for a quick fix, and a great introduction to authors you not have previously read. Keeps on giving!!

Each year, I turn to Buzz Books as a great resource to help in planning my reviews and posts. This year's installment is no exception. I felt like the excerpts from debut authors were particularly strong and diverse.

Buzz Books editions are always a treat. I am able to post information about books coming soon by authors we enjoy, or new authors who will appeal to readers I know. They especially also provide me advance notice of new authors I would definitely want to read. It's a great series for active readers!

What a wonderful resource for all of the upcoming books for this fall and winter season! The excerpts are generous and I love the links included for summer for gallery requests!

I didn't even know that such books are published. My all-time favourite, Ken Follett, is featured there as well!

So happy and looking forward to so many new books this year!

I always anticipate getting to read through the latest Buzz Books of short excerpts from upcoming titles. The Fall/Winter 2020 is no exception. For all of the disruption of 2020, this list of books is a bright spot. I've already preordered some favorites, like the Ken Follett. I adore his writing and have read this entire series.
I also love the links to the galley so adding something that catches my eye straight onto the TBR is terrific for finding some unexpected new loves.
I have even become a big fan of just perusing the lists of soon to be released books to see who is coming out with something and what might sound good.
Another hit!
Thank you for the copy.

This was a nice overview and I read a couple books from here. I particularly enjoyed the Midnight Library.

I appreciate the intention of Buzz Books. I look at each to ensure I am not missing any noteworthy titles in my library and in my reviewing. My constructive criticism would be to include more BIPOC writers and writers of other historically underrepresented communities.

Thanks for this. It was very informative and has influenced my recent book purchases both for myself and school.

This is a wonderful resource for avid readers, book bloggers, booksellers and librarians to learn about and read excerpts from upcoming releases. I think the online version would benefit greatly if there were links at the front of the book where it lists each release by category so that the readers could jump to the section (summary & excerpts) for the release he or she was most interested in because my guess is that many people will not read this cover-to-cover. That said, using this book I was able to add lots of books to my to-be-read list.

I like this collection of pre-release books that are sure-to-be popular titles and a mix of authors I’ve known about but haven’t had a chance to read yet, like Ken Follett, Matt Haig, Jonathan Lethem, Sue Miller, James Patterson, Jeffrey Archer, David Baldacci just to name a few.

This book is a perfect resource for me professionally and personally. Another bonus is that many of these books are available on Netgalley. I can get a little feel for the book through the excerpts then I can request the book through Netgalley to read. I’ll have lots to share with my book club and/or some patrons at the library I think would enjoy this type of book. I’ve enjoyed and I’m thankful for this opportunity to get a peek at what will be on bookshelves soon.

I almost always find a book or more that I want to read. A great way to experience new writers and new to me authors. I also get to sample some know authors.

Bravo and thanks to Netgalley and Publishers Lunch for broadening my horizons. I am not required to leave a positive review.

A wonderful volume of excerpts from newly, or soon to be, published books. Several intrigued me enough to order copies. Some were clearly not my thing. I love the idea of giving readers a delicious plate of samples so we can select what we want to indulge in.

A nice overview of upcoming titles, and it is nice to see a blend of familiar names and debuts! I particularly enjoyed the excerpts for The Push by Ashley Audrain, We Keep the Dead Close by Becky Cooper, and The Office of Historical Corrections by Danielle Evans.

I love the experience of browsing through the list seeing new titles from authors I am familiar with. The icing on the cake were the excerpts. Tons of excerpts from all genres. This was a great opportunity for me to test new authors and genres. I’ve been introduced to so many different authors I probably wouldn’t have picked up otherwise. What a treat.

I am so grateful for this type of read, which gave me a glimpse into all the upcoming titles this year!

2020 has proven to be one year for the birds, and a challenging year for the publishing world, but I love being able to help promote and support the authors with their upcoming titles and to help get the buzz going for the many books still pushing through and being published this challenging year.

Always so happy to have these samplers and get a taste of great books to come! Especially looking forward to The Midnight Library, Memorial, and The Last Story of Mina Lee, which I knew about, and The Thursday Murder Club, Set My Heart to Five, and Monogamy, and Can't Even, which I didn't. Appreciated the links to the full ARCs within.

This is my first time reading a Buzz Books list of book recommendations, but won’t be my last! What a great way to see some of the upcoming new releases and read an excerpt for each. I also liked that there were links included to each book for an easy way to request.

There were a few of my favorite authors listed along with several new ones and I will be adding their books to my TBR list.

I will definitely be on the lookout for the next Buzz Books recommendations!!

As a librarian and review editor, I appreciate the opportunity to sample upcoming reads and look forward to these compilations every season. Having the publishers' contact information available is always very useful as well.

These are the best book guides available. I absolutely love them. The books are broken out into sections, with fiction, non fiction, new authors, mainstream writers, and several other sub catégorisés. They are beneficial to browse to see which books are likely to be the best books coming out in the Fall/Winter of 2020. They are also very helpful, if you are not familiar with an author, to be able to read a short excerpt to familiarize yourself and decide if you wish to read their full novel. I highly recommend reading this guide as it usually is spot on with it’s suggestions.

PUBLISHERS LUNCH

For those who don't know what the 'Buzz Books'-catalogues of Publishers Lunch are all about (like me), just a little bit of clarification.

"Publishers Lunch is the book industry's 'daily essential read', shared with approximately 45,000 publishing people every day. Each report gathers together stories from all over the web and print of interest to the professional trade book community, along with original reporting, plus a little perspective and the occasional wisecrack added in."

Publishers Lunch also compiles seasonal Buzz Books-catalogues in which books which will probably create a buzz are included.
On the one hand these catalogues offer a simple overview of titles we should keep an eye on and on the other hand they also provide sneak previews for about 30 of those expected books which allow to see if they're appealing to you or not.

The available Buzz Books-catalogues can be consulted at: http://buzz.publishersmarketplace.com

BUZZ BOOKS 2020: FALL/WINTER

Publishers Lunch's goal is to help you sift through the thousands of planned fall and winter releases thanks to their selection of what they think are among the most noteworthy titles, separated in four key categories: fiction, debut, non-fiction and young adult.

Not only bestselling authors as Ken Follett, Matt Haig, Jonathan Lethem, and Sue Miller are featured.
Exciting debut authors are put in the spotlight as well.

At the end of most excerpts, you will find a link to read or request the full galley from NetGalley.

These are the 30 titles for which a sneak peek is available (in my review on Goodreads these titles and authors are clickable):

EVALUATION

This catalogue contains lots of intriguing titles, some of which already figured on my TBR-list and others which were added now by browsing it.
Although I do like to find titles on my own and I clearly have a preference for books that are less known by the greater public, this catalogue was interesting because it put books on my radar that I hadn't heard of before.
Furthermore being able to read the sneak peeks of some of the mentioned titles was nice, because that way it was possible to see if the writing style was entirely to my liking.
A single point for improvement would be that the titles for which no sneak peek is available would be clickable so that a short content appears immediately. Otherwise I'm very satisfied with this source of inspiration.

*Thanks to NetGalley and Publishers Lunch for providing a digital copy of this catalogue in exchange for an honest review.

A fun read to see what's coming up. As usual, there will be more books of interest than there is time available.

I wasn't aware that there were excerpts for so many books in the Buzz Books! There are some great Fall/Winter books coming out!

While I don't think it's possible to review this in the traditional sense, I always appreciate the Buzz Books conglomerations. It's a great way to get a taste of different writing styles and discover new books that might otherwise pass you by. This is the first time I've read the Buzz Books on the NetGalley app, and it does make it very easy to request a review copy of a book if you're interested in it based on the excerpt.

I received this book free from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I love when I see a new issue of Buzz Books, I look forward to reading every issue! I particularly love the links so that I can request the galley. I have quite a few new titles on my to-read list!

I always love the Buzz Books collections, there is always a book that isn't on my radar that I become excited about (The Incredible Winston Browne), a book on my radar that makes it a must buy (The Office of Historical Collections), and a book on my radar that I learn isn't for me (Leave the World Behind). From past collections I've found some of the books included become very popular and others (that are still great) seem to go unnoticed, I've found this collection to be great to learn about those lesser known books.

A sneakpeek into the new books coming out in late 2020. It is filled with lists of books and their release dates, along with excerpts from 30 of the most anticipated new releases. Take heed - you may end up with a very long "to be read" list after this!

I RECEIVED A COMPLIMENTARY ADVANCED READER COPY OF THIS BOOK THROUGH NETGALLEY. OPINIONS EXPRESSED IN THIS REVIEW ARE COMPLETELY MY OWN.).

I always love reading through the seasonal Buzz Books from Publishers Lunch: although I inevitably add way more books to my TBR than I can realistically read, there are a lot of really interesting picks and excerpts that can help narrow down.

The books that I found particularly riveting (mind you, these are only the ones with excerpts, don't get me started on the entire list!):
Fiction: Leave the World Behind by Rumaan Alam; The Office of Historical Corrections
Debut: The Last Story of Mina Lee by Nancy Jooyoun Kim; When the Apricots Bloom by Gina Wilkinson
YA: Lore by Alexandra Bracken

Thank you, Publishers Lunch!

They assist me with deciding which books to read & which books to select for my book club to read and discuss each year. Although there's no guarantee that I'll enjoy each book included, it does help to get a feel for which upcoming titles I will most likely enjoy.
